Anarchy Pancakes will get your blood pumping and your minds running at full speed. It is non stop action that is fun for all ages. I love that it is a quick game that doesn't take a long time to set up so you can pull it out after dinner to make the kids forget about grabbing their iPads as soon as they are done eating. It is very easy to understand and there aren't a million little pieces to keep up with. The pictures are fun which is just what you would expect from the makers of Exploding Kittens. I highly recommend this game and see us using it over and over again.

There was no time to strategize this victory. And it wasn't until the dust settled that it was pointed out I had been holding my breath the entire time. Such a simple game, but the sheer adrenaline inducing madness that it truly is lies within the fast paced procedure for execution. Fun? Insanely. Simple? Indubitably. The igniting ember of competition that will have you yelling at your opponents? Without question. Do you dare dabble in the anarchy?
I love how fast paced and simple the game is! It was easy to pick up and play with friends. The awesome artwork is just awesome and the different sizes made it a little more challenging to find the matches, which I think is brilliant. That artwork was such a distraction on the first few round we played. I should have looked at them all beforehand! Lol!There are only two things I think could be improved. First, because of the fast and excited play amongst competitive people, we bent a couple of the cards. So, thicker cards might be helpful. Second, with two players, we often found that we'd get toward the end and neither of us had a match, but there was no rule about who had to draw, so we drew another common card for the common stack.
"Anarchy Pancakes" is a delightfully entertaining memory game which provided many moments fast-paced fun. With its simple rules and emphasis on speed and memory, it kept my daughter and I engaged and laughing.The chaotic moments and frantic searches made for exciting gameplay and naming the different items was also fun, a squirrel wearing a unicorn head mask for example!.While speed and memory are key benefits to winning, there are also tactical elements that can give you an advantage…if you’re quick enough.We only played the game with two players but I would imaging that as the number of players grow, so would the amount of fun and enjoyment.
THE TL;DR: Anarchy pancakes is a great blend of Exploding Kittens visual humor and fast-paced gameplay for short and sweet games. Setup is quick and easy, and so is learning the rules. It's important to note that this is definitely what I would consider a party game, and is at its best with new groups and when the players are all at a similar level of skill. Trying to put words to the pictures was also an unexpected joy in the game, as half the fun was coming up with names to say out loud and saying them.THE LESS-GOOD: I view this as a party game, and a decent one. It's super quick to learn and play, but that comes with the downside of a party game - you get through it and see all there is to see pretty quickly. With the right group this can work for a while, but know that you're not playing this for the long-term shock value. In a mix of other party games through a single night, it can definitely be a lot of fun.I also found that in some scenarios where nobody has a match it becomes a stalemate where nobody wants to draw a new card - in contrast to the rules, a house rule of "draw AS SOON AS you find no matches" solved that. I also found that folks would focus quickly on their first match, and forget to flip and split out all other cards before starting, or moving their hands out of the way. Similar house rules helped there as well, but I was often yelling "MOVE YOUR HANDS" to the kids.THE NOTES: It doesn't lend itself to being the kind of game where you play while chatting, since there are no turns and you're actively talking out loud as part of the rules. That's totally fine when you know that's what you're getting in to! But don't expect to sip tea and catch up on your day while you play.Also, you definitely need the right group of players to make it work. Playing it with two adults and two kids, one of whom is slightly below the recommended age limit (shhh, don't tell) made it a bit difficult for us. The youngest found it difficult to make the matches and say the words as fast as everyone else, and got quickly outmatched. Even our oldest couldn't keep up with the adults - and that makes sense. It's a skill and reaction game, so the younger crowds may not match up with the adults. We did have to slow ourselves down and take a pause to let them catch up, but as a gamer parent making sure everyone has fun is part of the job. And then selectively wrecking them.
The game of Spot It is usually a blast and I always get left in the dust by all the speedsters throwing cards down and winning super quick. Thankfully the little twist that is added in Anarchy Pancakes is just the right edge I need to come out on top. Also, the objects aren't as obvious to yell out, so things like "squirrel wearing a unicorn hat" is a little harder to get out before you can move on to another object. Frankly, I love this version over tradional versions of Spot It. If you love yelling random things, like "flaming doughnut," "cowboy starfish" or "happy baby tooth," at your friends, this is the game for you.
At first we weren't so sure -- how could there be fun in this little box? Were there even enough cards to provide variety?We can't stop playing! The game is quick -- and that's our main complaint. Couldn't it just last a little longer??? this game builds from the fun that is Spot It! and makes it faster and more competitive. We absolutely love the no turns aspect and the speed of the game is intense! Our eyeballs get tired zooming around looking for pairs.It actually hurts our head to know that there is always a match somewhere and yet...it can be so hard to find!To compensate for the speed of the game, we decided to add one extra card for each pat of butter earned and made a winning total be 3 pats of butter!Perfect game for a quick burst of fun!
