There was nothing wrong with these earpods. The problem was with the salesperson who told me they would work with my Samsung Galaxy cell phone. I didn't think an Apple product would work with a Samsung phone but thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately I thought correctly and therefore I had to return this product. Fortunately, when I returned the Apple earpods, I got help from another Best Buy employee who did know exactly what would work with my phone. He showed me the Samsung wireless earbuds and explained how they worked. I was pleased in the earbuds and purchased them. The gentleman even "hooked" these earbuds up to work with my phone (so I wouldn't have to tear my hair out trying to figure the setup by myself). You can't be expected to pay more for a new product which has limited accessibility seeing as it only connects to iPhones/iPads/iPods with the Lightning Cable port and then shortchange customers with shoddy product quality.Apple was once a reliable brand but the same can't be said now. Many of my co-workers use these Apple Earpods for their Windows laptops as a very affordable solution for constant Zoom meetings. I wanted to have a wired option so I didn't have to constantly charge my Plantronics/Poly Voyager headset all the time.I have known about these EarPods for many years, but I didn't realize that they are such a great buy. I can hear meeting participants clearly with these, and the microphone works great as well. Love these. Bluetooth is overrated. The classic wired earpods are superior in SOUND QUALITY, price, functionality with the mic controller, dont get lost , and probably above all else you do not have to hear that godforsaken dead battery chime every hour when their expensive and overengineered counterpart dies 5 times a day. I admit my airpods are old, i have a hard time replacing things. Most of my belongings are gifts… the battery lasts far less than it used to and the lopsided volumes are really frustrating and completely ruins the music experience. But cmon? $140? $190? Gtfoh… i could buy 10 of these things for that price and hand em out to break everyone else out the scam that is wireless headphones. Long story short. Occam’s Razor.
