I've tried several different cameras over the past two years and the Arlo Pro 4 is by far the easiest to install and setup. The mobile app makes installation a breeze and has a signal strength meter as well as your camera view to use to determine where best to hang your camera. No other camera I tried had this. Battery life is great and has barely lost a few percent in the two weeks I've had them up. And having a battery is so freeing! You can install these cameras practically anywhere you want and not have to worry about power or ethernet drops being available. The picture is great and setting up you motion areas is a snap. I give the Arlo Pro 4 5 Stars and I recommend them to anyone interested in home security. No matter what your skill level these are for you.

Two way audio failed. BIG TIME. Twice.After four 30 minute phone calls with Arlo to trouble shoot decided to return first box and bought anew to try again since Arlo Pro 4 is currently so highly recommended. Again, two way audio failed. Bought this camera to be able to talk to people at my door while inside my home.After my fifth call to Arlo about the second box, Arlo indicated "as we discussed on call regarding the 2 way audio not working, when we check with the next level team they have said that there is an ongoing issue with the 2 way audio not working in Android Device. So our Engineering team is working on it. Requesting to try login the arlo account in the I phone and make an observation". I have an android phone. These cameras have been a waste of time and money. I have set up 2 sets of pros to make sure the connectivity is strong to each set, one in front of the house and one in back of the house. When we get a notification that there’s motion the cameras literally never load in order to even see what’s going on. And when it records it takes multiple tries of opening and closing the app before the saved video clip is even able to be viewed.I have 10 cameras in total, 10 motion sensor lights, and arlo video doorbell. I’ve brought the cameras inside to see if it changed anything and it’s the same issues. I have tried support and they are a joke. I kick myself all the time for even investing into Arlo. Ive had these cameras for about a year and a half now. Truly awful. I bought 8 for around my home, have a mesh network in home, gigabit internet, and still have connection issues. Just so you know these cameras are not out of range. When I bring other wireless devices to the cameras locations, the other wireless devices have full bars, and work fine. The cameras show full bars, and still do not work. I have even gone to the extent of placeing a mesh network hub directly underneath one of the cameras, hub hardwired to router, and the camera is still unreliable. These cameras never work when they are needed.Constantly when I try to view the cameras live feed the cameras will not connect, or take 40 seconds to connect. I bought two of the Pro 4 Spotlight Cameras to replace older cameras. Love the new cameras. Very clear and appear to give alerts a little quicker with the direct connection to my home WiFi than my old Arlo cameras that went through a base station.One complaint. NO power adapter - only a short charging cable. I was thinking about using a fast charge adapter I already had that was 20w but the Arlo representative I spoke with said they don’t recommend it. I needed a longer charging cord anyway so I bought the Arlo 25 ft charging cable that comes with a power adapter for $50.00.When you’re spending over $150 per camera, they should at least include a power adapter to charge them. Other than that, the cameras are working great and I would still recommend them.
This set up was super simple! I like that there’s a key that you need to open cameras for batteries, no one else can get to em without the key. I really enjoy that you can edit your detection zones, we ended up getting 3 of these cameras to replace our old ones and can tell a difference in the video quality being super clear. I would recommend getting the solar panels that charge your camera for high traffic areas so you don’t have to keep changing the batteries. That’s what we’re doing, but if you can’t, just edit the detection in that area and you should be set. The app is pretty simple and easy to use to upload the cameras. My batteries came half charged, but they gave me an extra battery. make sure their fully charged and they’ll last you a couple weeks before ... MoreThis set up was super simple! Purchased this as expansion to existing system. Swapped out the entry cameras for the newer model. Easy to setup with the app so it is overall a seamless process. The specifications were impressive in comparison to other products. The camera and software drain the battery quick in comparison to other models. I recommend going through options and turn off what you do not need. Setting up zones will also reduce the camera notifications and recordings. As I put my set outdoors I decided to mount them with solar power. Less climbing to change batteries and you still monitor them on your devices.I would give it a five out of five except that it is still very expensive for a 2 pk. If you can pick them up on sale go for it as they are worth it for security comfort.

The resolution is better (1440p vs 1080p) and the ability to differentiate between a person, animal, vehicle, or other movement is huge.When I get a notification, that extra tidbit is the first thing I look for, especially at night. If there is a person lurking about, I want to know that immediately. That one feature distinguishes this camera from Ring in my book.The battery life lasts 4-5 weeks, even with moderate motion triggers. And recharging is very quick. That is not an issue with Arlo. That is an issue with all wireless camera systems. The wifi received on this camera system is very good. I have camera on the outside of the opposite end of the house from my router in a single story 2100 sq ft brick home and got a good signal. I added a mesh router close to the camera to ensure a good signal just to be safe.This camera system is excellent. You will not go wrong with it. I highly recommend it.

With the subscription service, we had substantial issues with the camera, namely connectivity issues, frozen motion notifications which would crash the battery, and motion sensor set off by sunlight. Without the subscription service, the camera is basically useless. You cannot set activity zones unless it is plugged up to AC power. With the direction it faces and the view angle, without the activity zones, it just notifies all day (useless). I bought a solar charger, and the activity zones work with the subscription service with solar power there is no reason why they should not work without the subscription service. Mostly a solid performer, geofencing can be a bit frustrating if you have 2 or more people who are part of the system. If 1 person doesn't have their phone set "right", you will not correctly trigger the home mode. The camera has overall has a slightly better image than the original Arlo that it replaced. Expect to need to charge more often in active areas of placement as you trigger the motion and use power. Best for active areas is to forget the battery and wire in the power if possible or get the XL battery to ~double battery life (which is acceptable). Note the batteries take several hours to charge (overnight for XL).
