3rd 7900 XTX, Best one
Let me start by saying that I have owned 3 versions of the 7900 XTX. I had the Power Color Reference, the Red Devil, and now this one. I did not have any issues with the reference model at all. I was not plagued by the hotspot issue but was very excited to get the Red Devil. So, I exchanged the reference for that. I had two different Red Devil cards, the first I had immediate issues with stability. The second was fine, and I even wrote a review about it being amazing. I wish I could either edit or delete that review as the second started having the same exact issues. The performance had no consistency whatsoever. Even at stock settings, they would both crash immediately. Now, on to the ASRock... this is by far the better looking and performing of the three. I legit ... The card is probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing GPU's I have ever had; it's very well built. Performance is consistent and I have had zero stability issues with it whatsoever. Absolutely no coil whine and the fans are the quietest of the three cards I have had even when set to 100%OC settings are as follows:UV=1095Max clock= 2975Mem Clock= 2780PL= +15... Show more

Excellent card
Upgraded from a 6900xt, I play on a 3440x1440 ultra wide and the 6900xt is a great card for it, I wasn’t hitting my monitors 144hz on the max settings I like(why spend money on a good monitor if you can’t even take full advantage of it.) Been playing a ton AAA games lately. God of war went from dropping to 80fps when in battle, to staying on the 144-130fps range in battles, 144 when just exploring. Elden ring also runs very smooth and looks gorgeous. If you play on an ultra wide monitor/game at 4k I would recommend this card. Why pay 1800 bucks for a 4090 when it you get great performance with this? The card is gorgeous as well, stays very cool/not that loud under load.... Show more

Exemplary 7900 XTX
TLDR: Purchase this model if you are looking to maximize the potential of the 7900 XTX chip.Build: The Taichi is built incredibly well, it's a large and heavy card with great cooling, low noise and high overclocking potential. The included gpu support bracket is appreciated and helps.Performance: The Taichi allows for great overclocking out the box using the adrenaline software. The in-game performance uplift I've experienced is 10.5% in the Callisto Protocol ultra settings FSR 2 off. In testing with gameplay and synthetic benchmarks my temps were 55c/76c hotspot and 46c/77c hotspot average. This was with a 2970 Max clock, 2470 min clock, 1055 voltage, 2764 memory clock, +15% power limit.Value: Coming from a 6950 XT I have experienced a 37.6% performance ... With an overclock on the 7900 XTX the increase becomes 52.1%. In-game numbers for the Callisto protocol were 105fps (7900xtx OC/ 95fps stock) and 69fps (6950xt stock). When overclocking the 6950 XT the gap was closed to 43.8% with the 6950 XT providing 73fps. While this is a small sample with an AMD optimized game, my experience was positive. The Taichi 7900XTX is priced higher than MSRP because it's objectively a better version of the card and represents that in its performance and cooling.Summary: If you are coming from a previous generation and want to upgrade you will see a noticeable performance increase. If you are looking for the best performing GPU from AMD this is it. If you are looking for the best bang for your buck GPU at 4k then consider the 6950XT at $699. I hope this review helps, do your research and find what works for you 🙂... Show more

Fantastic GPU
So far has been great, not had a single crash or driver issue. Massive natural render FPS increase, the 24GB of VRAM eats up any and all issues of all the recent unoptimized games. Even older open world games like AC Origins will gladly use 18GB of VRAM. No XTX reference design cooler issues with this card, the peak I have ever seen the junction temp hit was 69C after hours of games like Jedi FO, RDR2, god of War etc and the GPU temp easily stays under 50C while gaming unless you want a silent fan curve. Excited to see how hard it goes once I also get a 78003XD... Show more

Fast and quiet card!
This graphics card is great. I wanted to build another gaming computer so I could play multiplayer games with my son. I was deciding between the 4080 and this Taichi 7900 XTX because my other computer has a 3080 and I really like NVidia's features, but I wanted to give the 7900 XTX a try because I heard good things about it, and I don't regret it. I play single player games and multi-player games and it is really smooth with high fps. For example, I used it playing Modern Warfare 2 on max settings and get over 200 fps in the benchmark and in the game. I heard stories about the high energy usage also and was worried but I checked it and on idle it's under 36 watts and on the highest it was 350 watts while playing Modern Warfare and running the in game benchmark so ... Temps stayed low also so no problems there. My CPU is an AMD 7900X so you know what to expect if you build something similar. I didn't get any stuttering or anything and no coil whine and the fans are quiet. When I first installed it and used it with an HDMI cable the picture didn't seem great so I tried a Display Port cable and it improved dramatically. It could be my HDMI cable wasn't the right kind for the higher bandwidth but I didn't try another one since I was happy with the Display Port cable. I highly recommend this card. You can't go wrong with AMD or Nvidia they're both great brands.... Show more

Fast Card
Bought several months ago. It’s a great looking card that performs awesomely. I play COD mostly on a 1080p, 390hz monitor. In Vanguard, I get over 300 fos without overclocking. I had to actually turn off overclocking for Vanguard because it ran a little hot. Prior to that, I almost maxed out the monitor. That was using the preset in Adrenalin. In MW2 Team Death Match, I get around 180-200 fps with overclocking enabled. In MW2 Ground War and Invasion, I get 90-120 fps, those modes are more graphically intense. It’s a great card. I upgraded from an EVGA RTX 3090 hybrid. The 7900xtx stays really cool.... Show more

Great Card!
First time ever going with AMD for gpu and got the Powercolor red devil at first and that was a mistake. Coil whine devil should be it's name. It's a thiccc boi for sure. Runs super silent to the point I found out my monitor makes more noise than it. (buzzing sound) Haven't had a need to change the stock fan curve which is amazing. Temps haven't hit over 75 yet junction or package.Only reason I knocked a star off is for the anti sag bracket, No instructions on it and the screw for the base did not fit in the hole for it so the screw got stripped. Also the software for the RGB seems like it was made by a 10 year old who just watched Tron for the first time. Overall great card and I am happy I found an EVGA replacement. (RIP)... Show more

Great GPU
I'm not sure I am getting the most from this card yet but I am impressed. Installation was easy and since I was previously using an ASRock 6800xt updating to the 7900xtx Taichi automatically downloaded when I started the computer. I am a photographer so I calibrate my monitors monthly. With that said colors are accurate which adds to my gaming experience. Since the GPU is new I run AMD software to pay attention to frame rates, VRam usage, and temps so far everything looks good. Do I recommend this GPU? Yes. It's a little pricey but the hope is that I will get years of use from this device.... Show more

Great upgrade from 3070ti
Solid card with great performance and thermals so far. A little noise when running with uncapped frame rate (talking like 800-900 fps in rocket league), but darn near silent normally. My case fans are louder. The only thing I’ve noticed is that in rocket league free play, when I’m joining a match, it stutters for just a second before I connect to the online server. Once I’m in game though, absolutely no problems and my 1% lows are my maximum monitor refresh rate, so I’m guessing it’s a driver issue that will be worked out soon. It’s not like it affects gameplay or anything anyway. Definitely would recommend, and it also looks really good in the case. Make sure you have a biiiiig case cause this thing is thick and long. Love it!
Let me preface with, I've owned 3 7900 XTX's - and this is by far my favorite one...I started with a Red Devil OC which had a wicked amount of coil whine - enough that it was mildly infuriating even with a headset on. So, that had to go. At the time, the only other 7900 XTX in Stock was the Phantom Gaming. So I picked that up and days later this card became available... Although between the two cards there isn't much of a difference; the Taichi clearly has a better build quality and the visual asthetic of the card is 100 percent better than the phantom gaming.Overall, this card is a beast. It stays cool, it performs well, it scored a 28,000 on Furmark for me.... Which is nearly double the 7900 XT scores.Overall, happy with my purchase! :)... Show more
