Cool.Exactly what I wanted.Well designed & high quality materials built to last.Needs an anti-sag bracket due to weight, unless vertically mounting with PCIE4 riser.RGB is turned off as my PC is "Blackout" & I am using air cooling, no liquid.I would like to have the 3090ti edition, but you know..gotta get what's in stock.This looks great with ASUS TUF X570-Plus WiFi (5950x CPU + 64gb ECC RAM) motherboard, Noctua NH-D15S, Seasonic Prime TX850, & held together by Thermaltake Core P3 case mounted on wall above 55" Samsung Q80t 4k HDTV monitor.Performance is amazing & works well in a home office workstation, but a bit overkill for a gaming rig.

The title says it all. This card is an absolute beast in terms of performance. For gaming, it can take anything I throw at it in 4k. For CUDA computing, it is insanely fast. We know the specs, so none of this should be surprising.What did surprise me is how quickly prices dropped for the next-highest performing cards. The 3080 Ti is not far behind the 3090 in performance, yet is about $500 less (over 20%) than the 3090. From what I have seen, any RTX 30xx Ti card will run any current game on market in 4k.The 3090 might also retain its resell price longer if crypto returns, seeing it is one of the only cards without LHR (light hash rate) limitations...but it will need to be a huge increase in mining ROI for that to be a truly compelling case.Do you really need ... Well I did some benchmarks and temp tests. My goal is to try to keep the memory at 80c or as much as possible. Even under volting the card to .850mV ... I still couldn't play Total War Empire without the card hitting 84c on the memory in just a few minutes. Maybe that's normal but my 1080ti Hybrids memory ran under 80 forever playing that game. I will keep the card and buy a Hybrid 3090Ti as my main card and for gaming. The one surprise I found is the demand for more powerful Power supplies. Heat from these cards are a real issue but the power draw is not if you under volt them. I am confident that when I am done I can run both a 3090 and a 3090Ti with a 1000 watt power supply (under 800W draw from entire system). Now with the 3090 (active) and 1080ti (Passive) I am ... My performance has been a bit better than my 3080 in most cases with the outliers where I can clearly see significant differences. I would not buy it twice but if you have the money just go for it, I do not regret buying this card and the temperatures stay nice and cool while gaming, even with a moderate OC of +200 on the memory and +60 on the core I was hitting 67C with fans barely audible. It would also be worthwhile to investigate undervolting for those not looking for top tier performance and are ok few percentage points of decreased performance for a cooler experience with less power draw, like 60C and 250W. It isn't a 1:1 comparison as that build uses an Intel 10900K clocked at 5.1GHz while the 3090 is running with a Ryzen 9 5900X at 4.8GHz. Compare which tasks and games you plan to run/use and let that guide your decision. I edit videos for YouTube, create thumbnails, record audio and gameplay so both cards are viable choices. If you are a streamer, Nvidia really is still your go to unless you want to stream on your CPU at the expense of performance. By the way, the RX 6900 XT is the bottom card in the picture and it's insane how much bigger than gigantic RTX 3090 it is.
What a card! It's absolutely overkill for what I need, but it has been used for 1440p gaming (Ark, Cyber Punk, Valheim) and mining until it wasn't profitable. I can't speak highly enough about this card. It's been put through more than most cards would see in 6 years of gaming and still does well to this day. Mining 24/7 is very unkind to cards, so I'm completely surprised at how well it's done. Would recommend. Make sure your psu is adequately equipped.

Now I cant say if its the card that unveiled them or caused them but I've regretted the decision since.So my Motherboard is a year old now. and the BIOS version was fine with what i had. its a year old, and out of date i suppose but as the hardware hasnt changed, whatever.Installing the GPU, all was fine. then a few days later, it really wasnt.Long story short, BIOS issues/Mobo issues, RAM issues, Hard drive issues.The Mobo had to be replaced, seemingly bricked, and now one of my good Gskill RAM sticks is giving a POST error in the new motherboard.The only thing that changed was the GPU? The ASUS Strixx 3090 though has a wattage condition as well as temp, so running an 1440p ultrawide at 100hz just requires over the fixed 50watt threashold, even if under 50/60c so they always run at 53%. The GPU tweakII software doesnt seem to work at all with this card, give it up. My Motherboards AI Tweak 3 software (Asus) does seem to have impact on the cards behaviour though.Now this card has made my system far hotter overall, and to the heading of this review. Because the card is more powerful, my CPU has more room to work (AMD 5900x), so the CPU does more work. Overall this means everything is louder, hotter. Its not just more performance for the same cost, its more power draw, louder fans to deal with the cooling and a CPU that is doing more work so the CPUs fans are going at it more.I've had to redo my case fans curve, CPU curve and i'm still trying to balance the GPUs curve. it's prone to sudden temp spikes now which lead to a sudden high intensity fan session for 5-10seconds.Probably best you just get a 3080 folks.

My main application is 3D visualization and animation. I find that using Blender on this card is a MUCH more interactive experience than with my old GPU. Working with global illumination and 30 million + triangle scenes is a breeze. The sheer, raw horsepower of this GPU enables me to be free to creative and build complex scenes, such as a detailed interior of a cathedral with a pipe organ and console with all the buttons, stop knobs and four keyboards, 500 chairs in the auditorium and IES lighting, producing a photoreal environment which I can navigate, fully rendered, in ... I can remember just a decade ago, waiting 45 minutes for a standard definition render of a simpler scene, one frame only, so this boggles my mind.One thing I advise is to set up a fan profile to run the fans higher RPM when the temperature goes up during rendering. The stock fan speeds let the card get too hot. This card will pull nearly 400 watts by itself. My entire PC was using almost 800 watts while rendering animation, as measured on a Kill-A-Watt P2. And it feels like a small space heater is running under the desk. Keeps my studio warm in winter.The 24GB of VRAM is a strong benefit of this card for when you're working with complex 3D scenes that use upwards of 16GB or VRAM, this card really shines.This GPU has opened up a whole new creative vista for me, giving me realtime feedback about the lighting and texture in my scenes, eliminating the waiting for renders to see if a light is placed optimally.Overall, it's one impressive GPU. I've paid similar amounts 30 years ago for my first TI-based graphics card, whose capabilities were like a grain of sand next to a skyscraper, when compared to this GPU. Technology has come full circle and the only obstacle to creative visual creation is the user's imagination now.
I originally received an ASUS TUF-RTX3090-O24G-GAMING card from iBuypower, which had supplied a defective card from another manufacturer. The ASUS card rattled terribly under load, and iBuypower suggested dealing directly with ASUS. ASUS' Customer Support was extremely responsive. They RMA'd the original card; the replacement rattled just as badly. That card was RMA'd. It rattled slightly, but not as badly, but went dead after about a week. That was RMA'd with a replacement card. The replacement card works but also rattles under load. I am giving up.
I'd like to first give a lot of credit to Best Buy in improving their Add to Cart queue system to give those of us a chance to get one that are just trying to buy a video card these days to enjoy our hobby. THANK YOU!Excellent card and feels quality with the all aluminum shroud. No plastic here except the fans, so VERY nice. Runs very cool in the mid 60C range in games even on performance BIOS. But if you are trying to build an all silent water cooled PC, you are risking it with these high end RTX 3000 series cards in general that are more likely to come with coil whine from what I've been reading on the internet's experience. Been building computers for over 20 years some video cards, PSUs, and motherboards tend to have coil whine. I've only experienced 2 out of the 12 video cards I've owned in the past with various brands. Luck must have ran out for me and this will be my 3rd one with coil whine in my lifetime. I'm also torn if I should RMA in the near future for this otherwise awesome video card. Then again, there are no stock anywhere so I'm grateful to even get my hands on one of these.I should also note, I have a new Seasonic TX-850w Titanium PSU installed running Ryzen 5800x CPU. The 850w PSU still tripped the Over Current Protection while I was playing a game and the system did a hard reset. This did not happen at all when I was still running the Seasonic 850w Ti PSU with my 1080ti GPU a few weeks earlier. Asus recommends 750w - 850w, but I may be also a victim of the 3090 extra transient power spike that is reported on various internet tech forums even with the recommended 850w PSU. I'll be returning the 850w PSU for another quality 1000w PSU to see if it'll prevent that from happening again. This is a possible developing issue that is still being investigated on various tech forums on the speculation it could be Nvidia's power design and factory overclocks on the cards amplified the issue. It would seem the recommended 850w PSU barely satisfies this power hungry card.
