Aveda Damage Remedy Restructuring Shampoo 250 ml

I struggled with an eating disorder in my teenager years and early twenties, leaving my hair an absolute mess. It was dry and sparse and had been falling out. I went to the hairdressers and they used Damage Remedy on my hair and the difference was miraculous! I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner ever since. The shampoo smells of bergamot, mandarin and ylang ylang and it is such a beautiful bouquet of scents. My hair has been rescued and it feels and looks beautiful! I love this shampoo and I would highly recommend it for anyone who has damaged hair. It truly is a damage remedy. I also love that the brand is cruelty free! It’s a win win! I would highly recommend this product. Also, you can buy the products in 250ml or 1L bottles! 😊

I dyed my hair for about 3 years and since then my hair hasn't ever been right. I have not had hair dye since then. So, a year ago I was expecting heavy breakage to the point I almost cut off my hair again because nothing was working. BEST SHAMPOO I'VE EVER USED

This shampoo (and damage remedy conditioner) are my ultimate favourite hair products. I have thicker coloured long hair and it consistently works better than others I try that claim to do the same thing. Other reviews state disappointment in all the original Aveda Shampoo lines being discontinued and I couldn't agree more. If the Damage remedy line is removed I will have no choice but to find another brand as all my other favourites are gone and the replacements are not cutting it. Please don't discontinue this line!!!

Great Daily Use Shampoo

I love this product! I have fine, wavy hair; I use heat styling about every other day but otherwise my hair is untreated. I found this shampoo about six months ago, and since I began using it in conjunction with the Damage Remedy daily treatment, I have noticed a definite improvement in the overall health of my hair. My hair stylist even pointed out how much healthier and thicker my hair has become! It has helped to improve overall shine & structure, prevent new breakage, and I am also seeing new hair growth. I also must mention that all Aveda products including this one have a lovely aromatherapeutic effect that is soothing & enjoyable. Overall, I am very happy with this product and will continue to use every day.

Great shampoo for fine hair

My hair is fine and prone to splitting at the ends, causing it to be hard to style and look out together. Volumising shampoos often still leave it looking lank and frizzy so I’m very pleased to have found one that makes it more manageable! I use this with the conditioner and treatment mask from the same range and my hair is thicker, fuller and easier to style. I agree that perhaps my hair gets greasier slightly quicker but nothing a little dry shampoo can’t fix and the trade off is worth it! Love this range.

I will use this product as long as it exists

When I was a teenager I was very insecure about how fine my hair was. I also dyed it and used heat on it constantly, so it was very damaged. My aunt finally convinced me to use this shampoo LONG TERM, and WOW. I've used only this shampoo for the last two or three years and my hair has never been healthier, shinier, or fuller. I will say it will take some extended use to see its true benefits on the overall health of your hair. It took about three months of consistent use for my hair to start improving. But it is SO worth it. My hair is much healthier and nicer than it ever has been. It's also fuller looking, probably because it's healthy. If you want to improve the overall quality of your hair, you don't want to use cheap shampoo. LOVE....BUT AT WHAT PRICE TOO HIGH?

My wife and I both really love / like (respectively) the Damage Remedy shampoo. It leaves hair feeling clean but not stripped, and "soft" and silky without feeling like it's lacking in body. She has blonde hair and mine is very dark brown to almost black, and there's some grey/white/silver in there too....and this shampoo is great on both hair types. Impressive!So, why Four Stars? At some point, with the noticeable increase in price, one has to ask when does it not make sense, especially for a shampoo that isn't meant to be 'regular use' unless one has hair that is in very sorry condition?I would recommend for sure, but now with a caution that it is a fairly expensive luxury.

Makes my hair super greasy

I am sadly not getting on with this shampoo at all. There is no lather when I use a normal amount, so my hair doesn't feel clean. Always have to wash it twice and use more shampoo than I would with other products. My hair is then fine for about 12 hrs, but starts to look greasy after that, so have to repeat the next morning. Not a cheap product and I will be through this bottle in about a month which seriously pains me. Was hoping it would last longer and work better for that price.

The absolute BEST

I have been using the Damage Remedy line for over 10 years and I have never found anything that compares. It is simply the best. Unfortunately, Aveda does not agree. They are slowly fading this line out. First you get rid of the liters and now you Jack up the prices. Yes, damage remedy has silicone in the formula but that is what makes it great. I do not understand the anti silicone issue currently in hair care. Silicone is a naturally occurring element on earth. Instead the brand that claims to be all about environmental sustainability is making synthetic silicone to replace a naturally occurring element. Make that make sense. Also, how is getting rid of the liters environmentally sustainable?!?! The new lines that have the synthetic silicone are all terrible. I have tried the botanical repair, color control, and nutriplenish. All have terrible and overwhelming scents, especially botanical repair. They also all make my hair a completely tangled mess that is almost impossible to comb through. I never thought I would say this but I will be searching for a new hair care company. Aveda stopped listening to customers a long time ago.

The best product line of Aveda!

Light, soft, airy, silky, shiny! Amazing. Classic staple Aveda line.*I was told this line is being discontinued?! I must say, Aveda's "rebranding" and discontinuing of all the original lines with new ones has been very disappointing to longtime loyal customers.The new ones are not the same, they all feel gunky and waxy.I've wasted so much money trying them all.Please bring back and keep the classic Aveda we love.
