I have been using a variety of Aveda products to encourage curl which I could control and always enjoyed the end result. I had to use about five after shampoo products to get there, and again a few of those daily until the next shampoo. BUT, this is different. It produces a more relaxed curl with fewer products and it is refreshed daily with the new daily conditioner. If I used the original products I had been using, the new daily conditioner does not do the same job. It is really made for this new Glee product. I was so excited when this came out because I love this new line but I was finding Brilliant gel too sticky and phomollient a little too light in hold. Be curly feels too heavy and sticky too. I love that this is moisturing , silicone free (so hard to find!!) and made specifically for curly hair. My hair is on the shorter side so I didn't need much, maybe like a dime size amount and I scrunched it in after the nutriplenish leave in conditioner. I air dry and my curls have great shape but are not crunchy or wet looking, no flaking and it controls the frizz!! Also has a very light scent. A winner. It's expensive but I think it will last me.

This hair gel is INCREDIBLE for my fine, frizzy 3B curls. It leaves my curls shiny, well defined, frizz free, and crunch free! They are bouncy and beautiful every time. I used to use DevaCurl for years until they started to have troubles, and I went through SO many products trying to find a new clean and trustworthy line to revive my curly hair. I am so glad I finally found Aveda's nutriplenish line, especially since it is curly girl safe with no sulfates, silicones, or parabens. I have been using the light products for several months now and my hair is bouncy, shiny, healthy, with well defined curls. Absolutely obsessed with the light nutriplenish line.

Color me surprised when my curls came out defined and less frizzy and lasted all day! Initially, I was applying the gel, scrunching, and plopping for 20 minutes, then diffusing until dry. Yes, there is a distinct crunch, but after 'scrunching out the crunch' my curls are still defined and frizz-free and stayed that way most of the way.Recently, I've been experimenting with a Denman brush and my curls are tighter and more defined. I’m new to wash and go’s and I have tried so many combinations and brands. This product used alongside the daily moisturising treatment not only creates a really defined frizz free wash n go with great hold, it does so with no flaking!!!!! I have used a little sometimes and lots at other times. Air dried and diffused and however it is used, it will not flake. I also have an easily irritated scalp, again, no issues. This brand is expensive but for the results, it’s worth every penny. I also don’t need to used as much compared to inferior brands, so overall probably works out to be the same cost especially when on offer.
I have coarse straight Asian hair with some bends at the end. I was looking for a hair product that would give me waves. I’m very happy with the results from applying Aveda curly Gelee. I plopped my hair and applied the gelee to my damp hair and scrunched it. I let it air dry and I ended up with nice waves, and no frizz. The next 2 days I spritzed my hair with water to revive day 2 and day 3 hair. The product held the waves. This product is great. I’m makes me like my hair again.
I have been buying Aveda hair products since I started driving in the 1990's! At the time, I had a relaxer, but now I have gone natural, and I have been on a hunt for products to suit my type 3c/4a hair. I did not find great results with the NutriPlenish Shampoo, nor Conditioner-my hair coils and tangles a ton, but the daily treatment and this curl gelee' are the best! I have placed them on auto-ship and I hope Aveda continues making products that suit Black naturals. I love my hair moisturized, defined, and super healthy without artificial chemical ingredients! For years I would occasionally try the Be Curly line hoping it would work on my 2C/3A hair bc I loved the smell so much. It never did, left my hair a frizzy mess. But THIS gelee (and I've been using and loving the light moisture shampoo and condish) has been perfect! Yes, it leaves a crunch/strong cast, but I can scrunch out most of it and my humidity hating hair needs that type of strong hold here in Florida. I get 3 days of good hair, could push it to 4 if I had to. I get good definition, good volume, and even a little shine, which is rare for me. It also doesn't leave a producty feeling, and I use a LOT of it (about 6 quarter sized globs for my chin length hair).
I have used sooo many products for my curly hair since I started going with my natural texture at the beginning of the pandemic! This one is one of the best though. It's the product I didn't think I would like because it elongates and is light hold. Usually I go with a strong hold because my curls tend to flatten out during the day. However, the combination of the Be Curly Curl Enhancer, Nurtiplenish Spray Leave in Conditioner, and this Nutriplenish Cul Gelee is a winner!! I just scrunch my curls with the gelee and they are not elongated. They are shiny, well clumped and frizz free! My curls have never looked better!!
I have naturally curly, fine hair which is mainly corkscrew curls. I was advised when purchasing a shampoo, conditioner, revitaliser set that I needed to use only Aveda Style products otherwise the rest would not work. I wanted some hold for my curls to keep them shiny & bouncy all day. What I am left with is lank, dry, frizzy waves, not a corkscrew curl in sight now I have followed the instructions & scrunched my hair, either air drying or blow drying it, but it's made no difference. I get the feeling this product is aimed more at Afro hair types & I was sold something not suitable for me. An expensive mistake that I am still paying for.
