The best advice I can give you when using this is do not overdo it! You want to use a couple of quick sprays scrunch up your hair and then be done with it. And honestly I would only use it on shorter hair. My hair is about shoulder length now and it's getting too long for me to use it.I feel like once my hair gets longer it just becomes a mess. It smells amazing, I do think that it doesn't hold very well. You can probably find better products for less price. I have found a few that I prefer to use. If you get stuck outside in the rainstorm and you get your hair wet this is going to get kind of clumpy. I Only use this every once in awhile but it is a good product. It will do what it says it's going to do. It's just not my favorite product.

I have shoulder-length, fine hair with a natural wave to it. I got this with the thinking it would help enhance that wave. I used it once, quite sparingly because I didn't want to overdo it. Okay, there's a scene in "Mommy Dearest" where Joan Crawford catches Christina playing at her dressing table and she says "What have you put in your hair?" and tries to comb it out to no avail. THAT is seriously what I thought of that night as I tried to brush my hair before bed. My hair felt and looked damaged. I washed it out the next day and used hair masque to try to remoisturize. I also poured the whole bottle down the drain. This stuff might work wonders for other hair types but for mine, it was a disaster.

I buy this regularly. I have fine and thin straight hair. I am 50 years old, still highlight my hair blonde. This adds great texture to my hair without weighing it down at all or making it tangly. After washing I spray this all into my longer hair, root to tip and love it. I have used every kind of product on the market and this is one of the few texturizing products that actually gives me some kind of body without any kind of problems...greasiness, tangles, stickiness....none of that. So I highly recommend this to those of us - men or women - who have like 4 hairs on our head. Lol.

I know smells are a very personal preference, but I LOVE the smell of this stuff. Even if the product didn't work as well as it does, I'd find a way to use it for the smell, alone. It does a great job at cutting down some of the frizz and enhances my waves/curls very well. It's also easy for me to re-wet my hair on day 2 or 3 and spray with texture tonic and let it curl and set again. I don't have much time to spend on my hair and this really helps give it a little bit of purposeful chaos instead of just looking like a fluffy mess.
I bought this in conjunction with several other styling products, the volumizing spray and the thickening spray as well as the brilliant damage control but this one shines out! The smell...I am obsessed with the it. This morning instead of using it with all the other products, I used it alone after the brilliant - simply blow drying my hair and it was so easy that I am quite impressed. My hair is fine and thin but I have a lot of it. It tends to deflate throughout the day , for that reason I never wear my hair blow dried straight, I always curl and spray it with hairspray for hold and volume. But I will buy more of this, not only does it smell amazing, it gave my hair the exact texture and hold I crave. I am on this website searching for more products with the pure-fume ginger, ylang ylang and clare sage scent! It's been a long time since I have had a hair product that smells this wonderful (ha I am telling my age, but I am thinking about Agree and Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific from the 1980's) and works well to boot!! The price is good considering it is a decent sized bottle and I will only use 5-6 sprays of it every time I wash my hair (2-3 times a week). I can see my mid sized bottle lasting a long time.
I use this every time I was my hair. I grew up washing my hair every day. I have thin, fine, hair. As a result, my hair gets greasy if I don't wash it everyday. I've spent the last 2 years retraining my hair by extending the time between washes. Anyway, once I added this product to my regime, my hair on day 2 is AMAZING, and day 3 is still pretty good. It works great when I wash, spray it in, scrunch a bit, or twist. It gives me great beach waves. Then, the next 2 days, I just brush and style.
I have naturally wavy hair, and quite frankly, it's a mess. I feel sorry for anyone who has to cut or style my hair because it takes them about two hours longer than usual because my hair is so difficult to work with. I keep it at lob length, which is great for flat-ironing, but recent changes in my morning workout schedule have left me with a mere 5 minutes to get ready in a public bathroom (you guessed it--no heat, no styling tools--barely enough time to change my underwear). Even if I flat-iron my hair before working out and keep things in a tight bun, I still get kinked hair when I take out my pony. I use Phomollient every day (lifesaver, if you haven't tried it yet you should right now), but I've added texture tonic on top of it. It's absolutely great! It does all those things that drugstore brand beach wave sprays say they're going to do (but don't). This stuff is the real deal. Just spray a little bit on dry hair, finger comb a bit, and you'll have your hair under control and with a little bit of volume to boot. My hair is naturally wavy--but not tight enough to have actual curls, so when it's humid outside, I look like I stuck my finger in a light socket--even after I've styled it to death. If you have some waves, a lot of waves, or actual curl, this product will help smooth it out and make it look like you just stepped out of a salon--instead of a rainstorm, which was my norm until I found this. Aveda: Please don't even stop making texture tonic. You've struck gold, literally.
okay so this may work for me and not others. I have semi-thin hair, but I have a lot of it. so its hard to find products that will add volume without adding a gross texture, but keep in mind, i have extremely flat hair. like its horrific. so I have been searching for a product that will give my hair that natural thick, volumeous look, and stay like that over long periods of time. this is the one. i use it in the morning at 6:45 am before school, and it still looks amazing at 8:00 at night. best product I've ever used. ever
Just when you think Aveda could not possibly bring out another amazing product - enter Texture Tonic. I have long curly hair that is highlighted at an Aveda Salon. It has a tendancy to be a little on the dry side and can get unruly. However, being a health and fitness trainer my number one priority when it comes to my hair is the health of every single strand, I am almost paranoid about putting a product on my hair that could damage it. Over the years I have come to trust Aveda above any other product on planet earth! This cheeky litle texture tonic does exactly what it says. An hour later I have the most amazing natural, beachy curls and more importantly, the texture and health of my hair look so beautiful! I know it can be a bit pricey but ladies remember your hair is your crowning glory and we often spend so much money on cheap products that lure us in, and end up using them once or twice, so in the long run it becomes more expensive trying to find the right product. With Aveda it will one stop forever! The best!
I've had this product for awhile. I used to try to make it work on my damp hair. I don't have curly hair but was hoping it would add some texture or something to help my fine hair look a little fuller. On damp hair, it just was yuck. Kind of felt grimy and stiff. So I put it in my bathroom cabinet and didn't use for a long time. Then one day, after drying my hair, I wished I had something like a pomade to put on my dry hair to shape it or just anything for fluff and volume. I gave this Texture Tonic a try and wow, did I love the results! I spritz it on and kind of use my fingers to shake my hair and mess it up. It gives my hair the look of volume, it dries quickly and just works. I even like my hair the next morning when I wake up. I brush my hair and still have ... MoreI've had this product for awhile. So glad I tried it on dry hair. I'll continue to buy this product!
