I have tried numerous hair thickener sprays, mouses, creams and not of them have worked as well as Aveda Thickening Tonic. I have very fine, thin hair and usually in order to get any fullness I have to apply a thickener, dry my hair, set with hairspray and velcro rollers for a few hours. Now with Aveda I can skip the hair spray and velcro rollers and just style with my hair dryer and flat iron. It saves so much time. Plus the next day I usually don't have to style it again. The fullness is still there.

This surprisingly was a fail on my hair. Other than smelling nice like AvedaProducts always have it did absolutely nothing to add density or thickness to my unprocessed shoulder length hair. I thought about returning it but ended up keeping it for the pleasant fragrance it provided after my nightly and day shower. I wouldnāt recommend for at least my hair type which is natural blonde, fine hair. I wonāt buy again and will try another brand.

After my hairdresser used this product, I thought I may as well try it at home, so I bought the smaller bottle. I have quite fine, thin hair which is short and blonde so I've always struggled with getting it to look thick and volumous. However even just a little bit of this spray and you can tell the difference. My hair looks much thicker after blowdrying - it's a saviour. Will purchase the big bottle next time! I quite like the smell of it too!

I spray on my hair whilst still damp - applying directly to the roots. Then massage in and finally follow by brushing though with a brush whilst at the same time using a blow dryer. Instant volume! I was curious to see if it would pass the humidity test when I stepped outside afterwards (it did!). Just be aware it MUST be used on clean hair to avoid interactions with other products that might be coating the hair and weighing it down...I decided to try it on my hair, some hours after using a hair spray, but the results were not good! Pros and cons to this product.I have naturally fine, curly, shoulder length hair but lots of it. I like to straighten my hair and due to medication and age I thought I would give this a go as one can never have thick enough hair!Pros ā¦ā¦ it works, I pulled all my hair back into a pony tail and it definitely felt thicker when I was holding all my hair in one hand. It had the same thickening effects as when using a dry shampoo.Cons ā¦ā¦ It does dry your hair out. Due to curls I get a lot of tangles so I use hair masks instead of conditioners which leaves my hair really soft, using this actually has a drying effect and my hair didnāt feel soft and silky, it felt as though I had a dry shampoo in after washing. Also, 100ml is a small bottle so if you have long hair ...Ā MorePros and cons to this product.I have naturally fine, curly, shoulder length hair but lots of it. Regular purchase. About my hair: I've always had thin, lank hair but following illness almost 10 years ago I suffered hair thinning that has not grown back, it destroyed my confidence to the point of losing my job and my barely leaving the house. Now I'm peri-menopausal so the general thickness of my hair has changed too. so I do not recommend hair products without thoroughly believing in their efficacy. I use Giovanni Route 66 Volumising Shampoo, Aveda Thickening Tonic, Aveda Volumising Tonic, Aveda Shampowder Dry Shampoo and Aveda Hairsprays.
Aveda has changed my hair! I began using their products a while back and I definitely see a difference. Iām a senior so my hair has grey mixed in which means there are some dry, flat areas in my hair. I also have a lot of hair which tends to get heavy and donāt hold the style well. This Thickening Tonic is a key step to obtaining full, manageable hair. I use this after every shampoo and before the addition of mousse (which is Aveda invati). I towel dry, and spritz throughout my scalp via sections of hair all over my head. The results are amazing!
In 2014 I was really ill and my hair started thinning at an alarming rate, it destroyed me emotionally and mentally to the point I couldn't leave the house. I've spent the last 9 years trying to find products that help me feel more confident about my hair loss so I can live again - this is one of those. It took a good few attempts to work out how much to use before my hair feels clogged up (a surprising amount to be honest) and I use it on the roots, then massaged it in. I also now use the Aveda Volumising spray and hairsprays too. I use a different brand of shampoo (I do use Aveda conditioner) but I now go to an Aveda hairdresser who use all the products (including shampoos obviously) and my hair always feels amazing, my not using the shampoois just more out of the ...Ā MoreIn 2014 I was really ill and my hair started thinning at an alarming rate, it destroyed me emotionally and mentally to the point I couldn't leave the house. Overall I highly recommend this and Aveda products in general.
My thick curly hair had become ānot so muchā anymore with age and over processing procedures. Tried just about every product known to mankind, that claimed to thicken hair. Most were so sticky and done nothing but weigh my hair down, making it appear even thinner. Aveda products seldom disappoint so decided to give this a try. When I wear my hair naturally curly, the thinning area on top appears to be nonexistent and my curls are soft, full and bouncy. Only gave 4 stars because unfortunately when I blow dry my hair and wear it straighter, I did not notice much of an impact on the thinning issue.
Works well as a thickener, I've been using about 5 years now and I'm pleased with its results. Use sparingly on roots and gently in before drying. I find it doesn't work with air drying so only use if blow drying.
