Avene Hydrance Optimale Rich Hydrating Cream 40ml

Skin dehydration is sometimes interchangeably associated with dry skin. Dehydrated skin lacks water and a temporary skin condition (versus a skin type, like dry or oily) that can be changed with a water-rich regimen. Environmental aggressors, Harsh cosmetic products, Nutritional deficiencies, Smoking, Alcohol, Lack of water intake, Initial signs of skin aging. Skin can no longer effectively act as a barrier, leading to excessive water evaporation. Skin can become red, rough, flaky, tight, dull with fine dehydration line. My face. What can I say. Dry, pissed off, sensitive. Everything is too greasy, pore clogging, or not enough, or irritating. This is just right. My face is hydrated, looks poreless, fresh, and it's soft.

Could have been 5 stars

Five stars for product quality and performance. It has all the qualities I was searching for. It is rich, ultra hydrating, thick and goes on smoothly. The winters are long and drying in New England. I wanted this as my everyday, go-to moisturizer. The moment I opened it and caught wind of the scent was my usual "oh, no...". I absolutely detest the signature scent of AVENE (yet I love the product!). It is strong, it lingers and frequently can be irritating. Why would company that is know for making products for people with sensitive skin use a horrible fragrance? It is a bitter/floral/old-lady cheap perfume scent. Horrible. I could live with a scent which was subtle, did not linger and fresh. Please consider remaking your signature scent.

Excellent everyday face lotion

After years of searching for an every day face lotion that actually worked, I discovered Avene. I love all their products now. I have very dry skin. I use this lotion in conjunction with the rich face cream and a skin oil morning and night. The tube lasts quite a long time as you only need a little to work well. I wish I had discovered it years ago as my skin has never looked better.

Great product - poor packaging!

If I were just rating the product, I would give it a 5, but the packaging barely hits the 3 mark. I love this face cream, but it is impossible to remove the cream when the tube is almost empty. You cannot unscrew the cover to squeeze it out, so you are left with either throwing away several days of product, or cutting the tube open and then it dries up. I'm really tired of having to discard unused cream, so I am looking for something similar in another brand. It's too bad that the manufacturer doesn't feel the need to fix this issue - I imagine I'm not the only one that has turned to another brand because of it.

Great results

I bought this for the warmer weather. I use the Rich Hydrating Cream in the jar for Fall/Winter. I still get the results even though it is lighter. Honestly, I’ve never been disappointed with any of Avene’s products. My allergist recommended a drug store brand for my daughters eczema and instead I bought the pump lotion. She was amazed at the progress. I get asked often about my skin care routine. I highly recommend trying any of their products.

Initially received as a sample

Initially received as a sample and my teenage daughter loved it for her perpetually dry skin made worse by daily chlorine, sunblock, and sun. I bought the full size ones after that, and she continues to find this the least irritating and the most hydrating of her moisturizers that she’s tried in the past. I typically stick to drug store brands for her, and she isn’t aware of the cost difference, but clearly she notices the difference on her skin.

Not enough hydration and worst coustomer service

Not enough hydration, lots of fragrance, I dont understand the need for fragrance in skinkcare routine? I have healthy skin, after applying this product my skin became more dry and this product was like powdery substance on my skin. I read lot of reviews before purchasing, waste of money, their return policy sucks, I emailed coustomer care asking for Refund, they dint come back, worst coustomer service ever, don't waste your money on brands who doest care for coustomer satisfaction. There are so many better skincare products who accepts the products if you're not satisfied. Never buy from them again.I don't recommend this product to anyone.

Perfection

This moisturizer is definitely in my top 2. Works wonders for dry sensitive skin especially during the colder months. My only criticism is the fragrance. It’s too old lady perfume-ish however, I will say, the fragrance doesn’t last long. it goes away in a few minutes. I love the price for a product that works so well for my dry, dehydrated, sensitive skin. Any excess get rubs into my hands as well. Definitely a product I will be buying many more times.

Alittle over a year ago I began to develop rosacea. The texture of my skin is great, but I have constant redness, painful flushing, and very dry and sensitive skin. Recently my dermatologist prescribed a cream to help combat flushing, but it leaves my skin SO incredibly tight and red, it feels like plaster and is painful to make any facial expression or smile or open my mouth to eat. I was desperate for something that could give me some relief so I could see my old face again for the first time in years. And it is a LIFE SAVER. IMMEDIATELY after putting it on my skin felt incredibly flexible and comfortable and the redness has decreased significantly. Normally, touching my face at all causes it to flare up, but putting this on my face was nothing but comfort. This brand has literally given me my life back. I immediately went out and did things with friends because I felt like my old self again. And it is a GREAT feeling. This cream is great for rosacea, dry skin, redness, and sensitivity, all of which I have. I cannot believe the amount of issues it has corrected for me in just one day. If it continues to work like this I will never switch to anything else!

Smells bad and bad customer service

Terrible. I love Avene and have always enjoyed their products, but this one was not great. It doesn’t work and it smells so badly that I believe I got a bad batch. I’ve tried reaching out to customer service multiple times, but they never respond. Im thinking it’s time to go elsewhere because Avene will discontinue the products I love (has happened twice already), and then they sent me this. Truly disappointing and poor customer service.
