Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this baby bottle set. This is only the second type of bottle that my 11 month old daughter has used since she was 4 months old and I could see that my daughter loved her new Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle Set with Natural Response Nipple, 9oz.. When I first looked at the packaging that the bottle set came in I felt like packaging was very easy to open, and what was written on the package was easy to read and understand. I was a little disappointed when I went to open the box because it was falling apart. The box was super thin so it would be easy for a bottle to fall out and possibly crack without anyone knowing if this happened in a store. The box was super thin so it would be easy for a bottle to fall out and possibly crack without anyone knowing if this happened in a store. I also did not see any instructions on the box telling the consumer to wash the bottles and after washing out in boiling water for 5 minutes to sterilize. I can say that the bottle also seemed to be wider than other bottles that I seen and I thought it might be a problem for my daughter to have a comfortable grip. It was very easy to assemble and use right away with my daughter. The design of the nipple is very natural and not too big for my daughters mouth to fit on. The nipples that came with the bottles were Flow 3 and I could tell that my daughter was getting frustrated with the milk not coming out fast enough. I did have the Flow 4 nipples and my daughter seemed to be okay with Flow 4. So I would recommend having multiple flow types to see which one your baby would prefer. The best parts about the bottle to me is the responsive tip and the non-drip nipple design. The responsive tip made it very easy for my daughter to drink, swallow and breathe using her natural rhythm. And she was able to turn the bottle upside down and throw it without the milk coming out which is amazing. And normally after my daughter drinks her milk she will have the hiccups due to too much air getting in while drinking, but she did not have any hiccups after using the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle. Overall I would highly recommend this bottle to all moms out there.

Overall I was impressed with the Natural Response Nipple on the Philips Avent bottle. I received this bottle set as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and my baby had never used a bottle before. She is 5 months old and exclusively breastfed. I was surprised at how easily she latched onto the bottle the first time and started sucking. She was perfectly content drinking from the bottle for about ten minutes, then got frustrated as she had only gotten about 20 mL of milk out during that time. I think a higher flow nipple would be ideal for her as she is typically a fast drinker. We have the level 3 flow nipple. We have used it several times with the same results. I was impressed with how well she switched back and forth between breastfeeding and the bottle, but was disappointed that she couldn't seem to get much milk out.I tried out the "no leak nipple" by holding the bottle upside down and shaking it and there really was not a single drop that came out. I like that feature as babies often choke on extra milk that comes out of other bottles when they aren't sucking, which didn't happen a single time for us with this natural response nipple. My daughter also didn't seem to get much extra air while using the bottle and only needed a little burp after drinking. The bottle was straight-forward to assemble, easy to clean and use, as well as comfortable to hold while feeding. As someone relatively new to bottles, I couldn't find anywhere in the instructions that mentioned whether the air valve on the nipple needs to be aimed a certain direction in order to work properly, but it didn't seem to make a difference so maybe it works any which way.I would recommend this product for anyone planning to switch between breastfeeding and a bottle, but would recommend trying a faster flow nipple than you think you need.

The nipples’ wide shape and function mimics a mother’s breast, which my little guy definitely seems to prefer. The nipple is responsive and allows my son to control the pace of milk flow during feeding, and even stop mid-feeding if he wants to without milk leakage and dripping. I think the nipples’ responsiveness also helps to reduce spit up and gas, which had been an issue with other bottles. The Avent bottle is plastic so it’s lightweight as compared to the glass options, and it has an ergonomic shape that is easy for my little guy to hold on his own. Lastly, the wide-neck design makes it much easier for me to fill from a bag of frozen milk without spilling and wasting precious breast milk. The bottles were easy to clean and have held up to washing and sterilization for a few weeks now without any sign of wear or discoloration. We like them so much that these Avent Natural Response Bottles and Nipples have entered our regular rotation of bottles that now go to daycare with my son.

The Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottles look simple, but they have an advanced, sophisticated, and smart design. The slight curve combined with an ergonomic indent on the bottle makes it comfortable and easy for both me and my baby to hold. The ounce marks are easy to read and have held up after multiple rounds through the dishwasher and sterilizer. As an added bonus, I was able to attach these bottles directly to my standard breast pump flange.I am a mom who both nurses directly and feeds from a bottle so its very important to me that my baby's bottle promotes a similar latch and feeding style. As an added bonus, I was able to attach these bottles directly to my standard breast pump flange.I am a mom who both nurses directly and feeds from a bottle so its very important to me that my baby's bottle promotes a similar latch and feeding style. I really love how these nipples flow; they only release milk when baby is actively sucking. I like this feature because it eliminates bottles leaking all over and is similar to how milk comes out of the breast. The nipples naturally allow for pace feeding; my baby has to actually 'work' for the milk instead of it just pouring into his mouth. I did notice notice a slightly more shallow latch on these nipples so I do wish they a slightly more gradual slope to them, but it didn't seem to transfer over to his latch while nursing. These bottles came with a 'level 3' flow which worked for my four month old baby, but with the advanced ability for baby to control the flow, I think a faster flow would also work without me worrying about bottle preference since baby has to do the work while sucking. These bottles were incredibly easy to assemble and clean since there are only three parts. I never once had a nipple collapse during a feeding because there is a built in vent on the nipple (no extra pieces to wash!). I've cleaned them both in the dishwasher and sterilizer without any problems.Overall, my baby and I really liked these bottles. The ability for baby to control the flow is something that I haven't found on any other bottle. Huge thanks to the Stellar Testing Panel for letting us try our new favorite bottles!
We received these bottles bottles in the mail as part of the Stellar Product Testing review panel, and had immediate success with them.I'm not sure what it is exactly about the shape of this bottle, but our little guy immediately took to holding them on his own during feeding at only 6 months of age. They have a nice contour that makes it comfortable enough for me to hold them, but whether it was the intent or not he found them easy enough to grasp the bottles with his little baby hands and feed himself, which was impressive to see! Also, the width and breadth of the nipple really seemed to appeal to him. As he's gotten bigger and is eating more he seems to want to eat faster and these bottles with these nipples allow him to get through a larger bottle (these ones hold around 8 oz.) without having to take much more time, and crucially, without getting much air.In fact, the sound the bottle was making was a little bit off-putting at first because it almost sounded like a leak or something, but you could really hear the air escape from the nipple as it was being displaced from the bottle, and not into the babies mouth. This is made the after-feed burp smoother and more comfortable than some other bottles. They have a nice design and are easy to assemble and take apart the components for cleaning, as is expected. That's not unique to the Philips Avent bottle, but it's a good quality nonetheless. Being able to pull the silicone nipple out of the cap to ensure there's no part of the design for germs to get trapped is a nice feature even though common among most bottles we have used. All in all, I really have nothing negative to say about these bottles. They may not seem all that different from of the other parents may come across but they were certainly easy to use, nice to look at, comfortable to hold, convenient to clean, and apparently pleasing to hold even for a 6 month old baby!
(I was given this baby bottle set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel)These bottles are perfect! I did not expect my daughter to accept them so easily as we have tried multiple brands the last month in our attempt to introduce formula and she did not accept any of them (she’s 8 months and exclusively breastfeeding until now). The design is great: wide enough neck that you can easily put the formula in without touching the sides, only 4 pieces so washes very easily, is a little thinner in the middle which helps hold it while my daughter is doing acrobatics when drinking milk. The only think I did not love is that when I put it in the bottle warmer, some water collects between the bottle and the nipple rim which is very hot so I have to be careful.I ... The only think I did not love is that when I put it in the bottle warmer, some water collects between the bottle and the nipple rim which is very hot so I have to be careful.I think the wide shape of the nipple and the responsive tip is what helped my baby finally accept bottles. It’s also very convenient because the bottle gets tossed around and the milk doesn’t spill.Coming from breastfeeding I was worried that my daughter will not be able to control the pace but starting with the 3+ month nipples helped her get the hang of it and we later switched to the 6+ month nipples. I don’t think she would be able to go directly to the 6+ month nipples even though it is in one with her age. So for exclusively breastfed babies that start bottles I would definitely recommend starting with the size 4 (3+ months) and then move up to size 5 (6+ months) even if they are older.I wash the bottles between uses during the day and sanitise them every night. They are super easy to wash the shape of the bottle makes it easy to put the bottle brush all the way in and only having 4 pieces makes it quicker to wash and easier to assemble. To conclude I would highly recommend these bottles to anyone and especially people with breastfeeding babies that try to transition. I already bought a second set and plan on using them until we stop using bottles.
I only have one “negative” thing to say about this bottle. Compared to our other bottles, it has a bit of a wider base so it fits less nicely in the insulated pockets of our diaper bag with the ice pack we have, but it still does fit and the pocket zips. Now that that’s out of the way, let me tell you why we ended up switching our entire bottle system over to these bottles after trying this one for a couple of weeks. The bottle size is great and it’s even slightly lighter weight than our former bottle, even without that bottle's extra anti-colic parts, but the capacity is still larger. The shape makes it easy for me to hold and even our little one is starting to grab it and hold it herself. The minimal number of parts makes them a breeze to clean, and I don’t even ... The shape makes it easy for me to hold and even our little one is starting to grab it and hold it herself. The minimal number of parts makes them a breeze to clean, and I don’t even mind handwashing them. As a result, when we switched our entire system over to these, I realized we didn’t need as many bottles altogether.I love that I don’t need anything except the lid for traveling because they don’t release milk unless actively compressed/sucked.Additionally, these bottles attach directly to my pump flanges without any additional adapters, and I can use the rings/nipples with the pump collector cups if needed. Now I did say that the wider bottle was a “negative,” but it’s also a positive for me because it’s less messy to clean with a bottle brush. On narrower bottles, the brush will spray soapy water everywhere when I take it out. But since these are wider, there’s no mess.As for the milk flow, our baby did amazing with these natural response nipples. We did end up going up a flow rate (4) than what came with the bottle (3) because she’s nearly 6 months old now. Our little one has laryngomalacia, which means part of her larynx is underdeveloped and sometimes blocks her airway. As a result, she was on premie nipples in our other system until about 2 months old. This also means she can have trouble keeping milk down, especially when it’s coming at her like gangbusters. With the Avent natural response, she controls the pace so there’s no milk dripping out of the corner of her mouth and she’s not getting choked up on it either. We waste far less milk because there’s no constant drip.Bottom line: I wish we would have started out our feeding journey with these bottles because they have saved me so much time, energy and even breastmilk!I was given this baby bottle to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
My son loves this bottle! He’s currently 8mo and just started trying to hold the bottle on his own, and having a plastic bottle means it’s light weight enough for him to hold, which is great! We were using the glass version of this bottle previously, and really Iiked it - except for the weight of the bottles. I actually like the plastic one better. I also found the nipple/ring seals better on the plastic than on the glass - less leaks! Woo hoo! My boy really prefers the wide nipples over narrow nipples, maybe because he’s also a breastfed baby - my older kid hated wide nipples but wasn’t breastfed at all, so who knows, each kid is different but that might have something to do with it. I love that it’s a no-drip tip, especially since he’s trying to hold it himself ... MoreMy son loves this bottle! I love that it’s a no-drip tip, especially since he’s trying to hold it himself and often turns it upside down looking at or playing with the bottle. My other bottles that I used with my older son would’ve leaked all over - I used to tip the other bottles to check the temp of the milk on my wrist because they leaked out of the tip, but I have to stick my finger in the bottle to check the temp before putting in the nipple with this bottle because it won’t leaks out of the top at all. I like that it’s more of a paced feeding style nipple, which seems to have helped with spit up. As for ease of cleaning, this bottle is super eaay, only three pieces, no extra vents or other internal parts to clean. Not totally sure how they did it - and every once in a while I find there’s an air build up in the bottle that loosens the cap and can cause spills. That’s one negative for me and lost this bottle a star. I do find that if, when I’m putting the cap on, I turn the cap the wrong way first until it clicks down into the groove, and then turn it the right way, it seems to attach better. I also will open and re-close it if I hear a whining or bubbling sound coming from the bottle, which happens if the trapped air issue occurs.Overall, I really like this bottle. And so does my baby - enough that, after getting one bottle to review, I just bought a full set!I received this Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle With Natural Response Nipple as part of the Stellar product testing panel in exchange for my honest review.
I love the simple and modern design of the Philips Avent Natural baby bottles. The bottles are attractive, comfortable to hold and SUPER EASY to assemble together even for first time parents. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this baby bottle set.I am currently nursing and pumping & bottle feeding my baby and like that the nipple on these bottles mimicks breastfeeding. The nipple is designed to only release milk when the baby actually drinks instead of letting milk drip out. I used these bottles early on in my breastfeeding journey because I was concerned about "nipple confusion" and had wanted to nurse and also bottle feed too. With bottle feeding, I can see how much milk my baby drinks and also allow her dad or another caregiver to feed and bond with baby as well. The size of this baby bottle set is perfect. It is 9 oz and comes with a flow 3 nipple. The natural response nipples on these bottles are different from the old nipple design. I think flow 3 is more like the old version of the size 1 nipple which is for 1m+ old babies. The flow 3 nipples on this set is too slow for my baby as she is currently 7 months old and was never a strong drinker. I do like that the nipple doesn't leak milk which is less messy and there's a decreased chance of overfeeding. I found that the flow 5 nipple for 6m+ olds works best for my baby as she needed a faster flow. I want to mention that the old model and current nipples and bottles are interchangeable with each other.Another feature that I really like is that the bottles fit my pump flanges! I love that I can pump directly into the bottle instead of bags and also use the bottles as storage. I purchase the Philips Avent sealing discs separately and use them to store my breast milk in the bottle which has a large 9 oz capacity. One con about the bottle is the numbers on the side are a bit hard to read. While the current bottle design is more attractive, the older version was easier to read due to the larger bright blue font. The current version has a smaller light gray font and I need to bring the bottle closer to see how many ounces of milk is left.I highly recommend the Philips Avent Natural baby bottles for parents looking for a bottle similar to breastfeeding that is also easy to assemble and easy to clean. I use these bottles multiple times a day and am so happy with them. The bottles also last long and hold up well and I sterilize them everyday.
I received this bottle for free through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My 9-month-old breastfed baby has tried a few other bottles and already has one from another brand that he really likes. He prefers a wider base, which this Avent bottle has. He took this bottle well without any issues, seemed to like it as much as his go-to. I liked the simplicity of assembly and washing, with only three parts and the wide opening. The bottle came with a level 3 nipple which I actually never used. The level 2 nipple that I chose based on the description worked fine, but was maybe just a touch faster than the slow flow one he usually uses. I am curious to compare it to the level 1, but not enough to bother ordering it. I question whether the higher level nipples would work ... The level 2 nipple that I chose based on the description worked fine, but was maybe just a touch faster than the slow flow one he usually uses. I am curious to compare it to the level 1, but not enough to bother ordering it. I question whether the higher level nipples would work well for paced feeds with a breastfeeding baby, but I appreciate the multiple options and ability to customize. As advertised the nipple did not drip, which is an absolute requirement for me. My baby doesn't have any current issues with colic or reflux so I can't comment on whether this bottle makes any difference with that. The amount of gas introduced seems to be no worse than any other bottle based on his burps after feeding. The only negative I would identify for this bottle itself is that it is too big, especially for a breastfed baby, which this seems to be targeting. My baby (like most who exclusively breastfeed) never takes more than 5 oz at a time, usually 3-4. A bottle this large is overly bulky, wastes milk with a larger interior surface area for milk to cling to, and encourages overfeeding. I would never buy a 9 oz bottle (or 11, which they also make!), and frankly, as a pediatrician and lactation specialist, I wish manufacturers would not sell bottles larger than 6 oz for the above reasons. No shaming intended for parents who use larger bottles for whatever reason, only my personal and professional opinion. So if I were to buy this line of bottle for myself or as a gift, I would stick with the 4 oz version that comes with the level 2 nipple (maybe adding on a level 1 to try out). That combination I would happily recommend because it is overall a good bottle!
