Was very excited to finally receive my machine. It isn’t a modern design by any stretch I.e. looks a little dated next to everything else in the kitchen. Using it is a doddle - only downside for me is that it is a little louder than I expected. The grind size setting mechanism of turning the hopper left or right? Reassuringly firm so your grind setting won’t move accidentally or with momentum / pressure of grinding.

Having tried a few other budget Burrs with little to no success I did some.research and came across the Baratza Encore. And so glad I did. The Espresso grind is Superb, the machine not as laborious as other models, and clean too. Highly recommended

Great grinder, very consistent and good range of coarseness to choose from.Only down side that I see is that it can be messy. After grinding, some of 'skin' of the beans get stuck in the container, so whenever you pull out the container they fall everywhere and causes a bit of a mess. Just needs a bit of care.
I was originally using a blade grinder, and this is a significant upgrade; I'm able to make great coffee consistently now. The grinds themselves are consistent too, with significantly fewer fines and chunks than my blade grinder.
The Encore is well made and feels solid, it doesn’t take up much space on the work top.It does what it’s supposed to do grind the beans evenly which makes great coffee inmy french press. All in its good value compared with others on the market.
I know a lot of people say the Baratza Encore grinder isn't specifically designed for producing the perfect espresso shot, which is fair. But for beginners it's great value for money for an entry level automated grinder. I am able to get a good espresso shot using a Delonghi dedica EC685 with an unofficial non-pressurized portafilter basket, using grind settings between 3-5 and altering tamping pressure, depending on coffee beans used etc
Having never had a burr grinder, all I can say is it works, assembly was pretty straight forwards, the guide to what setting for different brewing types was invaluable. Only down side is the lid of the hopper works its way loose, probably could be fixed with a layer of thin tape.
I have recently fell back in love with REAL coffee.There are so many options in the way one can take ones coffee.Now I think life’s too short to drink rubbish coffee. I now buy the freshest beans pop them in my Baratza coffee grinder ( which is so powerful, easy and clean to use). Grind to my preferred grade and hey presto. The Baratza encore was a significant step-up price wise from my previous 'entry level' burr grinder and I am delighted with it. Better grind adjustment was my main motivation for making the upgrade, and the Encore absolutely delivers on this, plus there is no irritating 'static spatter' of fine grinds when I take the ground coffee out of the machine. Overall, I'm delighted.
