During the pandemic, we purchased the ATEM Mini for our livestreaming and we immediately fell in love with it. This unit has incredible value for what you pay. Nothing really similar on the market for its price point. Solid construction. Buttons work as intended as does the LCD menu screen. Of course the Software Control is the preferred way to operate. Wish they included the power cord but that's a minor inconvenience. We are using this ATEM as the centerpiece for our small new control room, and we've been pleased with it so far.

This is great switcher for live production, I am using vmix and other cameras to send signals to our TVs. I don't like that they couldn't include a power cable and rack kit. Why call it rack mount switcher with no rack mount kits. In order to rack mount it, you'd either have to get some 3rd party rack tray or blackmagic universal rack tray which is $110.

The fact it has up/down converters built into each input was a game changer. Makes everything so much easier when it is all one format. Easy to set up and operate.
I previously owned a Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD and oh boy, this thing blows it away. For the same price brand new the Constellation offers so much more. More I/O and more keyers already beats the Television Studio HD. But then having more advanced control of chroma keying AND DVE...The only downside to this product is the urge to get the 2 M/E version. As a side note, do yourself a favor...get an ATEM Advanced panel. It is a game changer.
I bought the Constellation HD Switcher to replace an older ATEM TV Studio HD version. The salient feature is 6 programmable SDI outputs, which I intend to use 4 for ISO recording with an Atomos Shogun 7 monitor/recorder. While the Shogun can handle switching, the Constellation HD has a choice of transitions, and many other upstream and downstream effects. In particular, I can save and insert images, lower thirds, and short clips, and integrate the ATEM with one or more Hyperdecks. The Constellation conforms separate inputs to the output resolution, and don't have to be matched, as with previous switchers.
The unit does not come with side panels to mount it in an existing rack. You are supposed to purchase BlackMagic's 1U tray for an extra $115. The tray is open face across the whole rack and since this unit does not span the width of a rack, you expose the inside of your rack with the open-face design of the tray. It's certainly less than ideal and pretty disappointing.
