I've run this cam in my new car for about 3 days now and I'll keep it simple and state that:The Pros:1. The camera's 60 fps capture rate really does help with capturing more detail than the standard 30 FPS of lesser cams.2. The low light performance of the Sony Starvis sensor is apparent and is noticeably better than the Sony Exmor sensor of previous generations.3. The GPS is precise and boot up time of the cam is very reasonable (less than 15 seconds to start recording).4. The memory management/auto format is great. I don't have to worry about having to periodically format my card anymore b/c it does it on it's own (assuming you have constant power to the cam - ie using Power pro magic.5. The dash cam app makes you switch back and forth between the dash cam's wifi and your home wifi. This is 2017... allow the dash cam to operate as it's own wifi hot spot and also have the ability to connect to your home wifi so that you don't have to flip back and forth between your home wifi and the cam's wifi to perform firmware upgrades and footage downloads!.2. The cam should have included the port for the 2nd camera so that it gives consumers the option to buy a 2nd cam at a later date to attach to their dash cam. I guess that is why they have the 2CH version but the upfront cost was what held me back from buying the 2CH version.3. The dash cam should include a hardwiring kit. Although power pro magic allows you to hardwire things in that you still have that clunky cigarette lighter adapter. I'd rather just wire the cam into the fuse block and NOT have to cut my factory cord so that I can switch cams from my summer to winter cars with ease.

After a couple of weeks of use on my first ever dash cam I am quite happy with the video capture resolution and the design and build quality. This unit has more features than I need but the front & rear dual setup with 60/30 fps was paramount. I use a basic install without the parking mode power option enabled and can easily and inexpensively upgrade. The install was very straightforward and the pry tool was easy and effective.I download to my iPad as my phone is older vintage but this works very well and is surprisingly faster than I expected. I use this camera system now because I've experienced far too many dangerous driving events around me consistently for too long. If the municipal government will not fund police to adequately patrol then I want self preservation as well as the ability to assist in the form of reporting risky and dangerous drivers. In one single commute yesterday I captured and reported 3 alarming incidents, illegal turn, red light runner & wrong way on a one way street in downtown Ottawa. Two were reported to the police, the wrong way event was a tad too far to get the plate number.I'm hoping for traction in increased police patrols by adding confirmed, recorded infractions to the database.

First one came DOA, so had to RMA and exchange it.Take note that any pre-existing wiring will need to be redone because they've changed the barrel plug for a TRS barrel plug (3 wire, red, yellow, & black).I had a DR650GW-2CH and had it wired up to my OBDII port. That harness has a barrel plug with only 2 wires (red & black). So if you've hard wired it to your car you'll need to redo it with the new wiring kit they supply, or splice the new plug with your old wiring. In my case, I spliced the red and yellow wires of the new plug to the red of my existing wire harness, and the black of the new plug with the black of the harness. The new camera doesn't sit properly in the old mount, but the old camera sits fine in the new mount, which is strange also. I haven't replaced the mount yet cause I don't have anything that can peel off the old mount's double sided tape. So I'll live with a non-fitting mount for now till I get something.Minus 1 star for those stupid issues. The rear camera cable is the same, so I didn't have to re-run that cable which is nice.Besides the issues stated above, camera works good so far.

Works great! I think my only issues are user error. I’ll list my observations below but overall I really like this dashcam so don’t get me wrong there. Not a top of the line product but really good nonetheless, like an entry-level Porsche… Not the 911 but still better than most other cars out there.Installation was relatively easy, after redoing one part so the cable wasn’t wrapped in front of my curtain airbags.I got lazy and bought some fuse taps so I could crimp the bare leads into them because I’m not a pro installer. That made it really easy. It was neat that the actual BlackVue install video used my exact car (WRX).I like that it goes into parking mode automatically once the car power is off. That made it really easy. It was neat that the actual BlackVue install video used my exact car (WRX).I like that it goes into parking mode automatically once the car power is off. Every time I come back in my car though I hear “an impact was detected while in parking mode” then when I review the video it’s just me walking up to and entering the car. I haven’t gotten around to adjusting the sensitivity, which is a handy option to have since I apparently slam my doors. Now I feel shame. Thanks dashcam.I tested out the video and it had a really seamless transition to direct sun to a dark tunnel then back to sun and I could see details they whole way.Another trick of the app is showing a lot of alerts for “high acceleration events”. Thanks dashcam, but those are called “fun”. Neat scrolling GPS map on the side when you’re using the desktop viewer. The WiFi does randomly turn on by itself. Not sure if that’s a feature because my phone then connects to it and a minute later gives me a pop-up that the network has no internet connection. Duh. Now stop it. I just push the WiFi button on the side of the cam and it’s good. For a time. I’ll see if there’s a fix. I did already update the firmware. Minor quirk. Still a great dashcam.
I fit these to a lot of different males and models and BlackVue understands that not all cars work the same and especially if you own a European car I highly encourage you to go for the this.In this day and age with new cars becoming more filled with tech and extras the electrical components are becoming more sensitive or having issues arised with dash camsYou can rest easy with this as they designed the park mode with work it both GPS and ACC so it can be used for a lot of new cars where the accessories don’t immediately shut down for example most European cars however sometimes there is an issue for some car models which you would need to have the battery expansion as well but which is in a rare case but in saying that most other dash cams arnt able to go into ... MoreI fit these to a lot of different males and models and BlackVue understands that not all cars work the same and especially if you own a European car I highly encourage you to go for the this.In this day and age with new cars becoming more filled with tech and extras the electrical components are becoming more sensitive or having issues arised with dash camsYou can rest easy with this as they designed the park mode with work it both GPS and ACC so it can be used for a lot of new cars where the accessories don’t immediately shut down for example most European cars however sometimes there is an issue for some car models which you would need to have the battery expansion as well but which is in a rare case but in saying that most other dash cams arnt able to go into park mode with multiple functions and can only do into park mode via accessoriesAs my personal experience with this dash cam and installing other brandsThe BlackVue app is by far one of the best and easy to use app as for other apps for other brands I cannot say the same as finding footages is very difficult we as the BlackVue app was a lot easier to findAnd the clarity of the footage and lens it’s very clear even though it’s other brands say they hav 1080p recording when I compared my cheaper 1080p dash cam to the BlackVue750 that’s also 1080p the clarity and the footage is a lot clearer and for night time recording
Not impressed with the video quality, even in clear daylight. The rear cam can't see at night in parking mode. The interior has good infrared at night, but video is very grainy. The field of view is significantly less than in many other dash cam models. Instead of front and cabin cam on same unit, they are two separate cameras, which adds wires and takes up space on your windshield (in many states -- illegal). I think the cabin cam should be on a 360 rotatable mount. You can aim it higher or lower, but not turn it toward you more (as you might like to do in the case of a cop or road-rage driver coming to your window). I like that they use tape rather than suction mount. It was very easy to run the wires and hide behind trim (took 10 minutes). I've had no issues with the companion app for viewing. I can use the app to view the camera live (to set it up), to change the settings, and to view the recorded files -- but only when it's connected to my home wifi. I can't figure out how to access the files beyond that. But if you want to view using the cloud service, you'll have to pay for a special device (costly), a SIM card, and monthly data service.
I've only had the dash cam for a week and it's too early to review the product. It's fine. If it doesn't record a collision in park mode or starts draining the battery despite advertising battery protection it won't be fine. But so far it hasn't. Too early to tell. The review is of the purchase process since I received this email prompting me to post a review. This was one of 8 (EIGHT!) emails that I consider to be complete and utter spam that I received during my purchase of 1 product. I don't appreciate the spam. Other businesses manage to conduct day to day without spamming.Otherwise price was competitive with, say amazon, and product arrived new with unbroken packaging seal.3 stars for you.
Quality Dashcam, comes in an easy to follow instructions. Easy to use and install, comes with tools to help you install, includes duplicates for adhesive. Lightweight and durable under the Australian Sun. I have bought many and have installed many for myself and friends, and they are the best dashcams. Value for money and after 5 years they are still going strong and haven't missed a beat. Accessing or using the BlackVue app is reasonably simple and you will get use to it. I would suggest setting up the dashcam Wi-Fi to your phone as "do not connect automatically". The only thing I would recommend for BlackVue, is to include fuse taps to help installation. If you buy any of their Dashcams, buy fuse taps to make the installation easier. Highly Recommend
I've purchased from here before so nothing new to add really. I've always been pleased with the service. Live chat is great and any questions were always answered promptly with clear answers. Shipping was immediate. As for the camera, in case anybody wants to know, I like Blackvue cams and have had them for years. I use a dual cam on the motorcycle. It's certainly not built for nor intended to be used in the outdoors but it's performed very well for about three years. Lately, I've noticed some of the segments haven't been recorded and are coming up as a white screen. Sometimes the rear camera fails to record. This isn't a complaint. I figured I'd just replace it and perhaps experiment with this one to see if I can figure out what's up with it. Yes, I know there's a dual cam made for motorcycles and 4x4s but I wasn't convinced I wanted it after reading other reviews. Blackvues have amazing sound and video quality...which is exactly what you want to have when it matters most. Pic shows rear cam under tour pack. Front is behind the windscreen
Okay so I bought this dashcam allojng with a cellink powerbank and had it installed a 2021 Santa Fe. The process was smooth at the store. It took me a while to do this review after having it for about a month. Overall I'm very satisfied, but it did take some time to tweek the dashcam settings for my neighbourhood. There was way to many people walking so I had to turn off the motion detection to allow the camera to be used in parking mode without the battery being drained. The motion detection would be perfect if I was parked underground in a condo instead of the street that kept saving videos. Should you spend a bit more money on a newer model? I'm not to sure, but this one meets my needs.
