Loving it so far! I have had a dry patch on my scalp since going through " the change". I have tried EVERYTHING there is to get rid of it. Scalp oils, medicated shampoo, scalp relief shampoo, tea tree, etc. This is the only thing after 1 week, that has finally appeared to start getting rid of it. I am sticking with it along with HG formula shampoo and conditioner until they're all gone. If the positive reaction my scalp and hair continue after that, then I'm loyal for the duration. FYI: I even tried products for women going through this stage of life addressing this very problem. They were a bust. Especially to my budget. Beware formulation has changed

Regardless of what they say, their formulation has changed. The previous Hair Tonic had Procapil 3% and many ingredients that helped hair growth. The 'new' label and product called Scalp tonic has Aqua as the first ingredient and Procapil 3% isn't even listed. Many other previous ingredients also missing from the 'new' label for Scalp tonic. Do not buy. Customer service is doing a bait & Switch. I paid for Hair Tonic and paid for 5 items. I didn't receive the Hair Tonic I ordered. Instead, the 'new' Scalp tonic (with different ingredients) showed up. Customer service won't respond to my direct concern or refund my money or send the real Hair Tonic which I ordered. Great product!

Recently, I had to start taking several medications which caused hair loss to the point of absurdity. I needed a comb over on my crown to hide the balding spot. The hair surrounding the frame of my face was so thin, I found myself tucking my hair behind my ears all the time. Pulling my hair back with a hair tie was impossible as I didn't have enough hair to hold anything bigger than a child's scrunchie. So, that was my situation back then. Enter Procapil Hair Tonic. I used it according to the directions, morning and evening. I sprayed it, mainly on my part areas, the frame of my face, and my crown. I massage it into my scalp for a few minutes and went about my day. I was religious to this practice every day. At that point, I added the Intensive Spray and used it in the morning instead, but continued the Procapil at night. My results have been incredible. I'm such a freak about my hair breakage and loss, I comb my hair with a brush where I can actually see the number of hairs I'm losing through the vents in my brush. The only time I find more than a couple of hairs is after a wash, and it has lessened so much it's amazing! I no longer have breakage or hair on my clothing or pillowcases. I can run my fingers through my hair, which is well past my shoulders, and come out with nothing between my fingers. I have noticed many negative comments, some saying the product is not making detangling any easier, or helping protect against the use of heat. The product was not made for either of these things. You can't be upset with something that wasn't made for what you're looking for. It specifically says it helps with breakage and fall as well as helping to make your hair feel thicker. These are all things it does do. I am extremely happy with the product and the hair growth I have seen since starting it. As far as the irritation of sometimes getting a spray bottle, and sometimes not, just about any spray applicator will fit on top of the Procapil bottle. Change it out or put it in another dispenser and spray away. I got the squeeze applicator the first time I made my purchase and I'm not a fan. I changed the product to an inexpensive spray dispenser, and it worked great. I love this stuff so I'll figure out a way to get it on my head somehow. I hope this helps those struggling with hair loss and fall. My hairdresser has noticed my hair is getting thicker, growing faster and it's overall health is looking up. All good stuff!

It's sort of working

Is this a miracle product? No? It's not magically making my hair grow back amazingly fast. Has it been a factor to slow my shedding? I think so? I've been in shedding for a while, like two years so, I would say balding but I've been assured by docs and my hair stylist that I am not balding. But, my hair is THIN now. So I am throwing a lot at it to make it stop so I can't point to one thing being the factor that has slowed it down. But it is slowing so I can say it's not making it worse. I use this once a day, in the morning, work it in then put my hair up and let it sit while I do my face routine and makeup. It’s not the same since they rebranded it from “hair tonic” to “scalp tonic”

I had been using this hair tonic, now scalp tonic, for years. It was a great product. Lightweight and didn’t leave residue. They changed it somehow. They say formula didn’t change but something did. It sprays foamy, smells more concentrated and makes my hair greasy and hard to brush through, pulling at my hair. Like when you have hairspray that’s in between wet and dry. When you spray it and rub into scalp, it’ll foam like a soap. So I have no idea what’s going on with this. They sent me 2 new bottles and it was basically the same. It’s unfortunate bc I really loved this product. I used it every night. I’ve stopped using it since and will have to find an alternative.

New formula knocks down the star rating

I started using this last year after a surgery and hormonal changes caused hair loss for me. It seemed to be working and so I stuck with it. Unfortunately the last bottle I just bought from Ulta, I received the new formula and new name on the bottle; it's not the same, does not list procapil as an ingredient at all, and when you spray it on your scalp it comes out like dish soap; soapy and foamy. I used to be able to spray my scalp at night and still get away with a few days between washes (I have very fine, thinning, hair). Not anymore thanks to the foamy heavy application due to the new formula. So disappointed. Not sure why vendors mess with a good thing (their website references French regulations or something). Stay consistent and you won’t regret buying!

I’ve been using this for about 8 months now and recently purchased my second bottle due to the great results. I use it every night/every other night and first use a bamboo brush, brushing hair upside down to stimulate my scalp so it’s warm then spray and rub into my scalp in sections for a few minutes at a time. I wish I’d taken a before photo - I had so much thinning I never could wear my hair up due to my hair not fully covering my scalp, but now my hair is so thick I can’t see my scalp at all when I tie it up! Really is life changing. I started to really notice the difference after about 6 months and my hair is so much thicker now and has never been so long! Very happy and would definitely recommend this product. I decided to try this to see if it would be a great addition to my hair care collection that has been helping me recover from hair thinning from my well water. I have a water softener now and purchased some great products. I began applying this as the instructions say, and as I was gently massaging this into my scalp, my hair began falling out! I, immediately, ran to the shower to wash it out! I was shocked and returned the product to Ulta. I will still continue using the intensive spray while being cautious and observing. This company constantly changes amazing formulas their customers have adored. I used the original and was worth the high price point purely because it had as many other reviews below mention as well natural ingredients that truly help in stimulating hair growth and scalp health. It wasn't a miracle product and none are no matter how much every brand under the son tries to claim of hair products per knowing how many are insecure on this topic sadly but was a very legit and amazing smelling product that didn't leave your hair dirty or greasy. Many don't wash their hair daily and heavier products just cant be used daily per that. Had no idea the formula was changed until I was juat about to add this to my cart.
