I bought this to dremel my dog’s nails myself at home. Regular sized dremels are too large, heavy and awkward to use as I have small hands. The compact size and light weight of this dremel makes it exceptionally comfortable in my hand and easy to maneuver around the nails. The ‘Whitman’s DiamaGroove’ nail grinding tool fits on it. It is significantly quieter than my larger dremels. The variable speed allows me to tailor the rate of grinding nicely. The vibration is minimal. The cord can be a bit inconvenient but all the pluses of this fantastic little unit cancel out this one little irritation. My 2 dogs are small (7 pounds) with white nails. They tolerate this dremel very well. I LOVE it and highly recommend it!

I bought this to grind down my dog's nails. This machine is so quiet it makes an electric toothbrush seem loud, even on the highest speed, it is nearly silent on the lowest speed. I learned that this tool has a wonderful safety feature if anything gets caught in it (My hair for example LOL) it doesn't pull at all, it instantly stops with a small beep. Excellent in case if your dog has long toe hair, it won't hurt your dog at all. My dogs have never seen a dremel type tool before, and are typically nervous nellies when it comes to noises. This is so quiet, I was able to begin dremeling their nails in under a minute with no issues. My older dog who turns into an alligator for nail clipping didn't even blink an eye at this, she never pulled away at all. This device ... MoreI bought this to grind down my dog's nails. This device gets five stars, for dexterity, ease to handle, not heavy or awkward to hold even with small hands, and lovely for getting all those weird angles on dog's nails. The cord is light and allows the device to be thinner and lighter which I really like.

This dremel handled so well. I used it to sand round sharp edges on wood. After a while, it would stop running when I held it like a pen. I looked up how to change the electrical chord. When I opened it up, i was disspointed to see that the wires were saldered to the electrical terminals instead having screws that secured the wires to the terminals. I was able to position the wires in such a way that they were pushed against the terminals. This bought me a couple months more. However, it eventually separated again, and I was unable to get the wires connected this time. I wish that there was a way I could replace the electrical chord without having to solder it back together. To be fair, I did use this tool extensively multiple times a week for about 6 months before ... MoreThis dremel handled so well. I used it to sand round sharp edges on wood. Good first experience but a few things missing

“I am receiving a free accessory pack from Dremel in exchange for my honesty review”. I bought the stylo pen today and the first run of the tool immediately reminded me of dentist office. As a practice, I experimented with two tips (attached picture). For my objective, the tip on the right was most suitable. Here are a few prereqs id suggest before you start using the tool. 1) wear a dust mask, 2) wear gloves, 3) wear glasses, 4) and have a small vaccum handy to clean the dust off the work piece regularly. Moreover, I’d recommend sanding the whole work piece together with random sander once you’re done carving. Lastly, I wish Dremel would provide a bigger sized tip for bigger carving like that for a monogram. Also, the pamphlet wasnt very helpful in educating what tips to use for particular type of work and that can be improved. Lastly, let speed do the work and be patient. You can’t carve everything in one pass and may have to revisit the previously carved line. I strongly advise to practice carving on waste pieces of the wood before moving on to finished piece as every wood is different

I got this, because I got tired of having to stop trimming my dog's to nails at foot #3 to charge the batteries of my bulky cordless dremel. I wanted one that would never need recharging! This one is so much more streamlined. So much easier to hold and move around if my dog is restless. But i do wish the cord was more flexible. I've used it 3 or 4 times now and it still hasn't lost it's new-out-of-the-box kinks and I'm worried that if i try to bend the kinks out it will weaken the wires.I also wish it had a bit more power. Maybe its just the sanding sleeve beeing the wrong coarseness but this tool FEELS like its getting close to running out of batteries.... all the time. So it takes longer to sand down each nail. But! So my dog is much less fidgety despite the slower progress. So the positives tip the scales to 4 out of 5.

Junk. I really wanted to like this.

I do a lot of detail work and have had a couple of Dremel brand tools over the years. I was really excited when I found this in the store. The first couple of times I used it, it worked great. Now it's a few months later and it constantly shuts off as soon as it gets put under any sort of load. I'm really disappointed. I've barely used this thing 4 or 5 times. It still looks brand new, but it's basically useless now. Definitely not the quality I expected from Dremel. Buy something else.

Not for real projects
5 April 2023

I bought this as a cheap alternative to the larger, more cumbersome looking Dremels thinking it would do well for cutting a thin piece of lexan into an intricate shape. I had to work so slowly it was almost painful, because it would stop itself and need to be restarted when confronted with even moderate resistance from the material. Although I did get the job done, I wish I had known how weak this little thing would be and spent more to get a decent, more real-world ready Dremel. Also does not come with any blades and the polishing kit is crappy.

Small, easy to handle. Runs smoothly and quietly.

Nifty device that is easily operated and maneuvered, even in smaller hands. The grip has a very nice feel and it is fairly lightweight. Has powerful motor that runs smoothly and quietly. Make sure that any fittings/attachments are properly centered, sometimes it helps to rotate the fitting a bit if the machine is wobbling or vibrating. The only problematic issue is that the POWER/ON button is directly opposite the UNLOCK button and sometimes when trying to turn the device OFF, you can accidentally squeeze the UNLOCK button while it is running. (Which wears down the motor and chuck) It would've be great to get the same experience with a cordless, but the cord hasn't been a hassle. The cord is a good length and doesn't interfere with your work space. Altogether, it is ... MoreNifty device that is easily operated and maneuvered, even in smaller hands. I know this is not the normal use for a Dremel, but I needed a variable speed, compact Dremel to grind down my dog's nails. We had a specific nail grinder for dog nails, but it was so poorly made and wimpy that it took forever to do my dog's nails and that caused problems when my dog became unsettled after such a long time. The Dremel 2050 Stylo+ fits the bill PERFECTLY. The price is amazing (my dog nail grinder cost TWICE what I paid for this Dremel) and the variable speed and various sand paper grits made it SUPER fast and easy to trim my dogs nails. I have a Boxer, Cardian Corgi, and a Brittany. All very different breeds and all put up with the Dremel and were really very relaxed. The biggest bonus is that I can use it for a number of other projects (I am ... MoreI know this is not the normal use for a Dremel, but I needed a variable speed, compact Dremel to grind down my dog's nails.
