Wanted a small sabre saw and bought this as I was so impressed with the circular saw in this range. So useful as it can cut a range of materials and can fit into tight spaces. Used it also to trim materials from a DIY store to get them into the car. Even trimmed an untidy rose bush which was getting out of hand. Excellent product.

Read the offer carefully as the battery and charger are not included and have to be purchased separately making the hand saw twice the price you may think it is. As a piece of kit it is useful for quick jobs and tight spaces. Watch for kickback.

This is a nice unit, the body and reciprocating mechanism are of high quality. It's very capable for light duty work and I used some green wood blades to remove some shrub roots which were close to the house. Also used to trim the bottom of a gate which was rubbing on the ground.My only disappointment with this unit is the safety switch. There is a lock button similar to the direction changer on a drill/driver but the action is not very positive. I'm slightly concerned I have a faulty unit to be honest as whilst it feels like the switch shouldn't be onerous to press, it does not have the same feel as other tools in the range.The bare unit comes with 2 short blades (1 wood and 1 metal) which are useful plus the L Boxx carton insert.

Very handy for those difficult little cutting jobs. Nice smooth cutting action and very stable. It's designed for short blades so you don't overload the tool cutting material that is too thick. But longer blades fit which means you can cut that batten buried in the wall behind the insulation board
Handy little saw. Good for cutting through nails and tree roots. Tiny blade. Bit more length would have been nice.
Nothing wrong with the tool- usual Bosch PRO range quality. But I was mis-sold. The description says, in more than one place, that this tool is brushless. It is not. I am trying to only buy brushless tools these days- more power and lower current. I should have guessed when it also said this was 'coolpack' - which can only apply to 18v tools. I have checked, and several other tools are incorrectly labeled also. Come on Screwfix- when you are buying sight unseen you have to rely on the description being accurate.
Although only 12v, coupled with a decent capacity battery it will cut through 1 chipboard very easily allowing easy installation when miss have to be made to square sheets. The quality is excellent
Handy tool when a full sized sabre saw isnt needed. Serves the same plunge function as a multitool in many situations. Ply flooring, pipes, slabs all cut easily. Obviously, its limited in power but its convenient and competent. A spare battery is a must.

Use to cut branches from 1 to 12 cm in diameter. Provide blades because it wears out quickly. There are ways to make clean cuts but that is not its primary purpose. It goes everywhere, on the other hand you must have solid wrists, it vibrates and it's quickly heavy since you have a reduced grip. But you can not have everything for this price and in 12v For more power head to the 18v. I chose it because I have a lot of tools in this range so several batteries. If you start to equip yourself, it is better to head for 18 volts. The bosch range is frankly not bad. I bought this to use down at my allotment for small salvage and assemblies. it is already proving invaluable, cutting through wood, and pallet nails no problems. Blade changing is super easy. Battery life could be longer, but I suppose it is working very hard compared to a cordless drill say 2Ah batteries last longer. If you have any of the other tools in this range, and need it for small cutting jobs, buy it. Axminster were pretty much the best price I could find for body only. Now I don't dread the idea of dismantling a pallet with a wrecking bar and a wood saw.......
