I thought I'd made a mistake purchasing this initially as my dinner plates (standard size) didn't seem to fit in the bottom and my 'tall' glasses that really aren't very tall, didn't fit either. However, it just turns out with this dishwasher, you need to load things in very specific places. There is a section in the bottom which fits the dinner plates and there is a section on the very top shelf which can slide across to fit taller things like glasses. Once I worked this out, everything fits quite well and it seems to acccomodate more than my previous dishwasher. Some things are very close together or touching, like the dinner and side plates. It washes things beautifully and it dries almost everything really well. I love that it still has a traditional cutlery basket and I also really like the very top shelf for things like shallow bowls or small containers and the dedicated tray for knives.

After having this machine for a week, the things it is marketed as doing well, it does well. Certainly no complaints or issues. It is exceedingly quiet, efficient, easy to operate and offers loads of capacity as well as options. However, having used a previous Serie 8 dishwasher where the buttons were inside the door, I feel as though the buttons being on the face of the door is a slight design failure where it is easy for little hands or my body to brush against them and start it running. The WiFi functionality is interesting, and relatively easy to set up. Im certainly a fan of progress, but not sure of the actual utility beyond it being a bit of a novelty at the moment. Regardless, this machine is a safe choice for those who want the best from Bosch.

This dishwasher is amazing, so happy with my purchase. I was a little concerned getting the Series 8 based on some of the reviews about dinner plate size fitting in the machine however I've had no issues, dinner plates fit the dishwasher easily. There is so much room in this dishwasher and the addition of both a utensils basket and top tray is fantastic, great design layout. The touchscreen control is simple to use and includes all wash cycles. The dishwasher does exactly what it's suppose to do and cleans everything perfectly! The best feature hands down is how quiet this machine is.... It's so quiet it's sometimes difficult to determine whether I've turned it on or not! Highly recommend!

Great dishwasher in terms of performance but hard to arrange larger plates or pots in the bottom drawer without risk of them touching the spray arm. The center drawer is apparently height adjustable but due to the design of the top drawer it cannot be pulled up enough to provide enough room for the spray arm to spin when larger plates and pots are placed into the bottom drawer. I never had this problem with my old dishwasher which was a cheap Technika. Bad design. Would I recommend Bosch series 8 dishwasher? My answer is a big fat NO.
This is our second Bosch dishwasher after our first finally died after 14 years of solid service. The pros of this model: extremely quiet (when I first turned it on I wasn't sure if it was doing anything). The third rack at the top is great for shallow items and means we can fit much more in than our previous dishwasher. The racks are extremely customisable. We like the extra high pressure jets that can be turned on in the second rack. Also it has more cycle options than we will probably ever use. Finally the "efficient drying" mode which automatically pops the front door open at the end of the cycle to let the steam out is neat. Cons: This model does not appear to have side jets, so things like chopping boards standing up in the bottom rack are not cleaned as well ... MoreThis is our second Bosch dishwasher after our first finally died after 14 years of solid service. Cons: This model does not appear to have side jets, so things like chopping boards standing up in the bottom rack are not cleaned as well as in our previous model. The touch-control buttons are a step back from physical buttons in my view - they are slow to respond - you need to wait a second or two after touching before the command is confirmed which is annoying. You are tempted to push again but that just makes things worse. Delayed start time is great, but why increment in single minutes? No one is going to care that much. It soon jumps to 10 minute increments but it should start with that. To set a delayed start time of 4+ hours takes longer than it should - also it overruns after removing your finger, again due to the dreaded touch-button delay. Also the interior had a weird brand new rubbery smell in it which took many washes to go away. But overall no regrets.
It was a toss-up between a similar spec Miele G7000 series or the Bosch Series 8 as I had to replace a >10yo Dishlex dishwasher that died midway through a washing cycle. The Bosch's far more flexible bottom and middle racks, with the ability to flatten some sections, were a winner for me as I could place large pots into the bottom tray. I've had to purchase the vario cutlery tray to free up the bottom tray to create additional useable space - not a big issue, but having the ability to organise and place cutlery on a tray suited my lifestyle vs using a cutlery basket - means less possibility of stabbing your hands or being poked by forks and knives. Whilst Miele has a similar ability to change the height of the racks, the ability to modify the interior and flatten sections to cater for odd-shaped kitchenware items was the winning factor in selecting Bosch over Miele. The installers from Appliance Online were professionals. The installer, a Frenchman, was super friendly and took the time to explain the various functions of the Serie 8 Dishwasher. The wi-fi option is helpful, allowing me to remotely turn on and off and amend the multiple options, such as setting the dishwasher's water sensors to measure water turbidity and providing the dishwasher with an automated approach to washing mixed loads of kitchenware. So far, the dishwasher has met my expectations, minus purchasing the vario cutlery tray accessory to replace the current third shelf. Dishes, pots, cups and cutlery have all come out sparkling clean and dry. It helps to use quality dishwashing tabs, like Finish Ultimate Pro, to give your kitchenware the best clean and shine. I wanted to like the Miele, but the sheer flexibility of the Bosch line of dishwashers won me over. Time will tell on the longevity of this product, but so far, I'm impressed with this dishwasher and its build quality.
The appeal of this machine was the published low sound and power consumption, and the third basket. It was between this, a Series 7 Bosch (also manufactured in Germany), or an entry-level Miele machine. I really wish we'd gone for one of the other machines, as the Series 8 (with it's crammed third basket) is unable to take standard Australian dinner plates. This seems like a massive design flaw and oversight and now I know, is described on other review sites as being an issue. There is a way of making this work by making an adjustment to the middle basket (not described in any of the documentation or website) requiring the removal of the top basket. So basically back to the Series 7 layout and losing one of the appealing features. Bosch really need to recall this ... MoreThe appeal of this machine was the published low sound and power consumption, and the third basket. We bought this dishwasher in November 2021 and have used it regularly. Each time we use it, the dishes come out very clean and dry. The pop-open door (for drying) is one of the best features! (Although it did startle me the first time I was next to it and it opened...) The ability to monitor it remotely via the app is also great, together with the other management options in the app. It's great on energy efficency and water usage. The drawers actually fit all of our dishes - no more handwashing needed because things don't fit! The flexibility of the drawers to shift and allow taller glasses (for example) is also great. It feels like our dishes, cultury, and everything has never been cleaner. Recently had to replace a broken dishwasher and going off the reviews online the Bosch dishwasher range had a good reputation. We went with the Series 8 and have been very impressed. It is extremely quiet and does a great job both washing and drying. We haven't had to rewash anything so far (though we do rinse before putting in) and with the auto-open function have found that it is always very dry before we go to pack. It is capable of being connected via WiFi and although we don't really use this function as once we fill it we put it on straight away, the notifications it sends are handy (such as that it is out of rinse aid). Overall we are very happy with the purchase and would buy Bosch again. Some notes on if you are installing it yourself, most of it is pretty ... MoreRecently had to replace a broken dishwasher and going off the reviews online the Bosch dishwasher range had a good reputation. Overall we are very happy with the purchase and would buy Bosch again. Some notes on if you are installing it yourself, most of it is pretty easy though if you are undermounting it you have to adjust it outside of the spot as the back legs are adjusted from the back (common with dishwashers that aren't sold specifically as undermount dishawshers). Also, whilst the water connections are the same size fitting as a regular dishwasher, the connection has a large box that is used as a sensor that may struggle to fit through previously cut holes for your existing tubes. I had to cut mine out further so just something to keep in mind.
The beautifully designed and sleek appearance is just the beginning! I spent three days researching competitor brands and calling shops to get feedback from the coal face. After all of this I was left with the best value for money option - this model. It arrived the very next day - and no other shop could match appliances online price (was trying to put money back into the local area). I installed it easily within about ten minutes and it hasn'r skipped a beat since installed. The inside is superbly set out with thoughtful options to accomodate all sorts of shapes of crockery etc and the third shelf is superb for the bigger cutlery 'stuff'. The dishwasher is quiet as mentioned in other reviews and the dishes are spotless and dry on going to pack them away the next ... MoreThe beautifully designed and sleek appearance is just the beginning! First review ever goven, but in doing my research I saw the value of peoples feedback to steer away from the lemons, so I am returning the favour. A great buy.
