This thermometer is 100% overpriced because it is so unreliable! I first noticed this when I got an insanely high reading & rechecked it only to get a significantly less reading. It is all over the place with people, food, & liquids. I know that I am using the device correctly also because I even went back to CVS to have the pharmacist check my technique.For this review & to illustrate my point, I took my temperature 3 times in a row. Here are my readings:1st temp - 96.62nd temp - 103.43rd temp - 99.6I say do not buy this. If you do purchase this, keep your receipt & test it straight away. It’s total junk in my opinion. The cheap thermometers are far more reliable.

It actually is broken in that area I believe because it wont fully close and so that can maybe just be this one default in mine. But overall everything else works great and just find. Really a good product and I love using it for not only taking my kids temperatures but my food also to get it just right.

Thermometer was pretty easy to use right out of the box. Came with batteries too, so if you bought it needing it quickly, there's no worry about forgetting to buy the batteries. Only small prob I had from the start was the directions said to take off the end cap & I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to twist or pull the end off. Turns out the end cap was stuck in the packaging and was clear just like the packaging so I didn't see it there, so make sure you pull that out before you throw the clamshell away. Easy to take a temp reading with the click of a button, but seems to read lower than my oral thermometers. Didn't see anything in the instructions for an adjustment that may need to be made for forehead temp vs under the tongue temp??? I got first hand experience on figuring this thermometer out when my 4year old woke up crying and saying she was too hot. With her on my lap I opened the box, read the quick directions and put it to work! It was so easy! I love that the face is backlit, so I could see it in the dark. There is a yellow light to show where you are "aiming" the heat sensor. You can turn off the beeping feature/sound (which I did when I went to take her temp. later that evening while she was sleeping). The sound and face color indicates if there is a fever. She was in the yellow section. If there's no fever it stays green. This thermometer is awesome. Not only does it have multiple different settings to use depending on whose temp you need read, but it is very accurate as well. My son is unfortunately sick, and being able to use this on him without having to worry about possibly catching what he has from handling a thermometer that’s been in his mouth is an added benefit. Overall, this is a great brand and it’s an accurate thermometer. I would recommend this to anyone looking for thermometer.
I’m so impressed with this thermometer. This was the first thermometer I’ve ever owned that didn’t go under your tongue. Easy to use. I was so surprised at how quickly it read the temperature that I was almost positive I did it wrong. I pulled out my old handy dandy under the tongue thermometer to compare and the temps matched. Needless to say I will be tossing my old thermometer and keeping this one on hand. No more wrestling kids to take a temp.

Goodness! If you want to know someone’s temperature, this is not the device for you. I have sick kids and my baby felt hot. This brand new thermometer kept saying err and wouldn’t even turn on (it sometimes turns on when it wants to) but my old thermometer said 99 but that didn’t seem right. Finally I got this new one to work and it said my baby had a fever of 105.5. I checked again 2 or 3 times and it said 102.4. So, sometimes it won’t even turn on and function at all and then other times they have a dramatic fever and then it drops a ton in seconds. It is wildly inaccurate! This is the worst thermometer I have ever owned! And yes you have to touch their head and on a baby if it moves in the slightest to a different direction, the temperature changes drastically.
