Braun BNT400 No Touch + Touch Thermometer

We have had this a few days now with 2 sick children, the reading varies by as much as 1 degree centigrade, within seconds of each reading, both away from and on the forehead, it’s been a consistent problem, I just took the temperature of my child, ranging from 38.2 to 39.2C. All mean calpol. Do we believe the upper, lower or none of the readings. We are returning it, we have no confidence in the readings on the product. Very disappointed indeed. UPDATE: we have a Braun in the ear thermometer now, dearer, but works well. We kept this as a backup for a rough indication if we cannot get the in the ear thermometer in our children’s ears when they are unwell.

Omg where do I even start with this!! One word Amazing!!! This is one of the best thermometers I’ve ever used it give really accurate readings it’s easy to use and doesn’t cause distress to younger children. You can even check the temperature of food with it or the bath water. I’m so impressed with this product I would definitely recommended it. Not only can you use it on your children but you can also use it for adults too. I don’t think a thermometer could get any better than this tbh I love that it’s contactless as my children hate having things put onto them. This went down really well my daughter recently sits still while I do it on her head. I’m overall extremely happy with this product and would definitely go out and buy this for my family.

Having used the mouth thermometers for many years and finding them sufficient, if not 100% accurate at times. This non touch thermometer is brilliant and so accurate!Throughout the trial my infant grandchild had a cold and this was such a hassle free and handy item to have. Braun Series 7 Thermometer

I was very excited to receive this product to test. Having two children (one a premature baby and the other autistic) being able to test their temperature non-contact is paramount.It took a bit of fiddling to get used to it, as the thermometer was originally showing very low temperatures. Once I'd realised what I was doing, it took normal temperatures.I like the different age feature, as it means even if I'm not sure the light is indicative of whether or not their temperature is too high.It was still fiddly to use and didn't always show accurately.I would use it should I have worries about temperature, but it doesn't seem as accurate as the other brand I have at home.

Great for Young and Old

A great little thermometer. I already have the in ear version of the braun thermometer and was eager to give this one a go. The drawback of the in ear one is that I found it usually work up my little ones. The contactless one was great. My 2 boys often have colds (a hazard of school and nursery), and being able to take their temperature without waking them was a godsend. I found it to be accurate (as the in ear one does occasionaly give different reading between their ears). I found the contactless one easy to use and accurate (when comparing to my other one). One thing to note is that you may want to give it time to adjust to the room temperature when you first get it out (it does warn you of this in the manual). other than this it's been great. Great non-contact thermometer

This thermometer was easy to use once having read & understood the various settings/instructions.We used on our 5 month old baby which was usually easy as non- contact. Sometimes unsure on the overall accuracy compared to other contact thermometers, particularly when she wriggled, it would sometimes be difficult to capture a reading first time.This was however very reassuring to have when our family had Covid and we could quickly monitor our daughters temperature regularly with no need to worry about sterilising or changing ear probe covers etc.Has the ability to have sound on or off which is great for measuring when baby is asleep (still) without disturbing them.Would have been handy to have a little case to transport it in to keep it protected.

Perfect thermometer for the whole family

We received this thermometer just as the eldest child brought home the first of the seasons nursery bugs. With two adults, a 3 year old and a newborn in the house we had plenty of time to put it to the test. Initially it was used alongside our traditional stick thermometer and gave approximately the same readings each time. However, with young children it was so much easier to use and the thermometer gives a reading so very quickly, especially useful when you have a screaming baby to contend with.It didn't take long to start making use of it for other purposes, such as checking the temperature of baby's bath water. Rubbish product gives inaccurate readings

Please do not waste your money on this product I have just spent the last 3 hours at A&e with my little one as the temperature was reading at 42 which is dangerously high! I was asked to monitor her readings every half hour and the readings were dropping which isn’t right. I took this thermometer to the hospital and had her temperature taken with this thermometer as well as the hospitals. The readings were totally inaccurate and the hospital have told me to send this product back. Thank god my little one is fine but the readings on this panicked me. I thought paying more for a thermometer would be more reliable but clearly I was very wrong. Not even worth 1 star!

Unfortunately not accurate for us

I really wanted to love it because the idea behind it is awesome, especially with cranky little ones.However, every time I use it I get different results and even very inaccurate ones when testing it on myself (for example I had lots of readings of 32°C where my temp is around 36°C.Had to switch to a normal thermometer to have accurate readings.Being conscious of the price of this item I cannot recommend it unfortunately.
