I purchased my razer a little over a year ago. It has completely died and wont take a charge. I was told to either go hunt down a receipt from the store or I could pay shipping and repair costs to have it fixed. After possibly wanting to give braun another shot on a new one since my entire family has used them over the years, they say I would have to pay full price.So no customer service and being told to pay full price on their site to replace an item that is under warranty is ridiculous. I recommend checking out philips or panasonic instead. I am sure they know how to treat long-time customers...

While this horrible shaver deserves ZERO stars- Braun's marketing/branding is top notch.This shaver is absolutely terrible. A shave that should take a maximum of 8 minutes, now takes about 30. As a baseline, you will be completely unable to get 50% of your neck hair no matter how many times you go over a particular area. The build quality is a major downgrade from the flagship series 7. The frames that hold the foil cutters are now plastic and the springs/mounts that hold the cassette in place are fragile and flimsy. The 360 degree head is not an upgrade, It actually makes shaving contoured areas, like the chin, more difficult. I bought my series 7 in December 2009. When I purchased this item it was the top of the line in the Braun line up. I have used it non-stop until now in 2023. As all this time it is still going strong. It shaves, charges and clean the same as when I got it. I was thinking of upgrading to a series 9. But after reading the reviews I will save the money and stick to my old trusty razor until it dies. The only thing wrong with is the finish which is wearing a little. I have change the cutting head and cleaning fluid a required. To be honest I can’t ask for more out of this product. I recently bought this machine and this is the first machine I've had with an associated charging/cleaning station. I have previously used Braun shavers for years, but these were not cleaned in this way. Then I wonder about this: The machine was delivered with 1 pc. Braun Clean & Renew, and according to the manual, the machine must be cleaned after each use. Then the contents of the cleaning station will last for approx. 30 days. If I don't clean every day the contents will evaporate within 8 weeks. This kind of fabric is very expensive to buy new, and I wonder if this type of cleaning is necessary. Online, it is also possible to buy a type of powder which, however, must be mixed with some type of ethanol. I love my new Braun razor. It's my 3rd Braun in many, many years and is the only brand I would trust to buy. My prior razors had great, long lives and this new one has a better cutting head than ever before. It gives me a close shave that keeps my wife happy, too. I would highly recommend this razor to any man that needs to update. There would be no regrets whatsoever. I bought this shaver because My cheaper, rotary razor would irritate my skin and give me a rash. I will say that this product does not irritate my skin and it does cut close. However, it misses a lot of hair, which causes me to have to back with my cheap razor to finish the job. I go over and over and over areas with the Braun, and it just doesn’t cut everything. If you go a couple of days without shaving, this razor can’t handle it. You have to use the trimming attachment to cut the hair down lower so the razor can cut it. I. Am not impressed, but I keep using it because it is less irritating on my skin.
I've had my Series 7 for just over a year now. I've just purchased my second head for it last month. I've used the bath and cleaning station regularly and followed the instructions. Now the problems. I have very fine hair on my neck that it refuses to cut. I also can not get it to cut my mustache anywhere close enough to my nose. Lastly the overall shave isn't very close, I find myself going over my face with my blade razor to clean up spots missed by the Braun.

Even after about 24 hours of not using it, it can barely shave my face. Under my chin is always a mess no matter how long I try to shave it. I have cut my lip a few times just shaving normally. I keep my sideburns clear without the trimmer since I am not actually trimming. However, if I use the razor, I give my sideburns a fade... Secondly, having to pop off the cutting blades and put on the trimmer each time you use it is a nusiance. The travel case doesn't fit the charger, so if you're going on a trip for a couple of weeks, you need to pack that item separately. Fourth, there is no foil guard to protect the blades, so I guess that's why they gave you the case. Fifth, the blade end of the razor wider than the series 5 so it's harder to judge where the end of the cutting edge is especially when trying to cut up to your sideburns. You can spend 10 minutes shaving and going back over every spot on your face in every direction, and you'll still find errant hairs or clumps of several hairs that you missed. Now, I use a guardless Wahl clippers to shave longer facial hair before finishing with the Braun. Mind you, I'm not talking about beard-length hairs. My previous Brauns had no problems with these hairs.This one is too inefficient and takes too much time and effort to "get everything" without having to use a blade for final detailing.If I had bought their lowest model, I could see it maybe not being as effective as the better models. But I chose this one because there are only 1 or 2 models better, and this one had the '360 Flex' design for the head that I wanted.This might be the last Braun I buy if this is the way their design is going. I'm highly disappointed.
