Goodbye, Starbucks! I can safely say that I prefer making my coffee drinks at home now with my Nespresso Vertuo. This was really the best investment ever, because it makes the most amazing coffee, I truly like it better than any coffee chain. If you love lattes, iced coffee or just espresso, this machine is for you! The machine itself is fairly compact and doesn’t take up a ton of room on my cute coffee bar. It uses single serve pods and they come in so many different varieties, plus fun limited and seasonal flavors! Nespresso doesn’t let anyone make capsules for them, they find quality coffee and ensure it’s going to be delicious. They’ll also send you free bags to send your used capsules back in for recycling. I was issued a ticket number and told if it happened again to please call back and they’ll send a replacement out ASAP since we’d already gone through troubleshooting. I didn’t have another problem with it but it was nice to have that piece of mind. I recommend the Nespresso to anyone looking to get or replace a Keurig.

Sadly, customer service was lacking from beginning to end of my purchase. The first coffee maker, well over $200, arrived used; torn up box, poor packing, 2 missing coffee capsules and evidence that coffee had been brewed. Call to WS with the item set for return and replacement. The return process required me to box up the item and drive it to a UPS location; then wait for the return to be processed and the replacement item then shipped. How is this remotely customer service? I paid for a new coffee maker, and was sent a used one; this was WS's fail and I should not have been inconvenienced. She did process the credit and ultimately the coffee maker arrived, but this was a terrible experience and really made me question doing business with WS.

Parts are a nightmare to find. Water tank cracked

the water tank cracked after warranty (the wife dropped it but is now usable as a single serving water tank. I have been trying to find only a replacement water tank. Can not find any part replacements on Nespresso.com, Amazon has overpriced replacement tanks $70+ for a $10 part and EBay only has used water tanks. No parts list available in Vertuo manual or on the part itself. The water tank should at least be durable to support being dropped and not crack like the acrylic that is currently being used. Lost 2 points here since no parts list and cheap materials being used. After a while, the spinning action of the vertuo cups goes off balanced and makes a vibrating sound. The coffee from this concept is actually good. The price for this unit should not be more than $60 since the inside where the hot coffee is dripping down is entirely made of plastic. -1 point for plastic hot coffee drip channel. I sure hope they will upgrade to stainless stain drip channel instead with no plastic parts touching the hot coffee (remember microplastics gets leeched into the coffee). for any units over $150, it should have all stainless steel hot coffee channel to drip into the cup. For your health and safety, consider the all metal models.Vertuo cup lids should not be plastic as well. It should be aluminum instead.

My wife purchased a Vertuo Next for me for my birthday. It was such a delightful surprise, and such a quick disappointment. The unit leaked and exhibited other operational problems. It was returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. Assuming we had a lemon, I immediately purchased another Next from a different retail merchant. The experience was similar to the first - the unit leaked and eventually locked up with an error message that could not be cleared despite online help and a full factory reset of the machine. That unit was also returned to the merchant for a full refund. Frustrated, we decided to try one last time, purchasing directly from Nespresso AND switching to the Vertuo (as opposed to the Next). With all of that behind us, we have had the Vertuo for a couple of weeks. The performance has been trouble-free and the coffee is every bit as good as it was with the Next (which was delicious). Fingers crossed, we're hoping for years of good performance from this machine.
