A stupid 'upgrade'

i bought this bread maker to replace my older Breville unit as bread pan bearing/seal had failed and could not buy a replacement bread pan. I selected this unit ae the old Breville one had done the job well. This machine has a new 'feature' to drop additional ingredients into the dough after the initial kneading. You can tell it is doing this as the beeper shrieks several times for some reason while the hopper clicks loudly. This seem odd compared to the pathetic single squeak at the end of the bake cycle. The hopper protrudes so far into the baking chamber that large loafs will rise up into the lid hopper bulge causing the bread to stick and the top of the loaf to be ripped off leaving a mess on the lid to clean off. I have resorted to small and medium loaves only. ... Morei bought this bread maker to replace my older Breville unit as bread pan bearing/seal had failed and could not buy a replacement bread pan. I recieved this as a Christmas present and it makes a good loaf of bread for a cheapish machine. You WILL need a non slip mat underneath, otherwise the machine shakes violently and may "walk" of the bench. The nuts and fruits section drops early but doesn't put the flap back up. You need to quickly lift the lid and put it back up or will Dent and make the bread rise unevenly. The quality was pretty bad, considering breville was always a good quality brand. Many manufacturers defects, (mark on the plastic at the front, dents in the metal, lid sits abit wonky) lightweight plastic feel all round, metal handle on the inside insert bent out of shape on first use just from heat and weight when removing from machine. But because it's made of light plastic it is easier ... MoreI recieved this as a Christmas present and it makes a good loaf of bread for a cheapish machine. You WILL need a non slip mat underneath, otherwise the machine shakes violently and may "walk" of the bench. The nuts and fruits section drops early but doesn't put the flap back up. But definitely inspect the exterior before purchase.

I bought this 2 months ago on special. It is amazing! I have made 3 loaves a week and not had one failure.I use the Edmonds bread mix ( recipe on bag ) which is very simple rather than the recipe book that came with the breadmaker. Just add water and yeast and your ready to go!A brilliant tool to have in my kitchen.I am 80years and no longer by loaves of bread, so much cheaper and heaps of fun.

Great but loud

Absolutely love our bread maker! We’ve had one in the past and really glad we opted for this model this time round. Loads of great functions. Only two drawbacks: it’s crazy loud - even the buttons are loud - and it moves around on the bench. Also the recipe book isn’t accurate I think, we’ve had to tweak every time and give it a few tries. But all in all a great machine of good quality. Would not recommend starting early in the morning though, your neighbours five houses down will hear this thing

Hip hopping breadmaker, does not know how to waltz
26 August 2022

Use on floor! First use, and this wee fella danced so violently that it threw itself off the kitchen bench. The result was not pretty, but was terminal. My old breadmaker of 20years has been bought out off the garage. Might be old, discoloured, but dances more sedately and can be trusted to stay in one place!

Not that enamoured.

I have owned and worn out about 6 bread makers in my time.I tried out several bread recipes in the manual following them exactly and was not impressed with any of them. The loaves produced were compact, solid and stolid. They seemed to be short on liquid. I then used my own recipes and achieved much better products.I don't like ripping a hole in the bottom of the loaf which happens when the paddle is removed after baking, so I always remove the paddle approximately 1hr 50mins prior to the end of the programme. I have spent quite a lot of time 'camped' beside the machine noting the times when it is mixing, rising and baking.I also like to make a sourdough loaf, which entails mixing a 'biga' the nignt before. Your machine doesn't have a short 10 - 15 minute mixing ... MoreI have owned and worn out about 6 bread makers in my time.I tried out several bread recipes in the manual following them exactly and was not impressed with any of them. Started Out Great, then slowly disappointed

I purchased this machine 19/6/22 and despite seeing bad reviews, thought I would try it for myself instead. I don't always trust reviews I see online. It started off great, we used it mainly for making pizza dough and occasionally a loaf of bread. The pizza dough turned out great, it would rise right to the top of the machine, sometimes touching the lid and was easy to work with. The bread would be a similar experience though not rising quite as high as the pizza dough. The clacking sound for the fruit and nut dispenser a lot of people complained about was there exactly 15 minutes into a cycle, regardless if you were making pizza dough or bread and even if it was empty which got annoying.Over the next 11 months the dough or bread were getting lower and lower in ... MoreI purchased this machine 19/6/22 and despite seeing bad reviews, thought I would try it for myself instead. It might be old, discoloured, and has no bells and whistles, but it knows its place and stays put!Dont buy this machinee, unless you are prepared to stand over it pleading for it not to...jump!

Wonderful Result
19 January 2023

I bought this a few days ago and have been dying to try it out, I must say I was NOT disappointed. The results of the finished loaf was excellent. I made the sweet bread with fruit and nuts, followed the recipe precisely and it was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to try some of the other recipes. Love it. It does take a little while to complete but the wait is so worth it.

simple easy and a bit noisy :)
26 November 2021

we have this for about 18 month now, and we love it. Don't expect to give you bakery class bread, but the breads are really good. We use it 2~3 times a week. not just for bread but also for pizza dough.Although it has timer, you cannot turn it on at night to have a warm bread for morning. because a) it is noisy b) if you leave the bread inside for a while it absorbs moisture and crust goes softAfter more than 1 year of using the blade kneading and pan are worn and we saw metal and teflon coating get worn which you can see traces of black sticky material inside the dough. Good thing is that spare parts are available to buy and not expensive.
