Brother 2504D Overlocker

Its a Brother, and its a tad noisy, (I knew this from all of the reviews I had read, prior to purchasing) it's actually a dream, highly recommend, especially for this price, I did homework on the price of these and some places sell for over $600.00. Thanks PB Tech, Your a Star, who would have thought, I also purchased a Panasonic Bread Maker off you months ago, so your not just all about phones and computers. Service was great too, keep up the good prices and great staff.

This is the first Overlocker I have ever used that is EASY to thread. No fiddly manouvours like other overlockers, but slide a knob and its done, absolutley fantastic. Buy the way, the rest of the Overlocker is very good too. I love it.

Dissapointed

I purchased this machine a week ago, thinking it would be as good as my previous Brother Lock 1034D but it doesn't stack up! I had this machine for 17 years. It was a real workhorse. I think I had it serviced once buy an authorised technician. I then continued to do my own maintainence and it never skipped a beat! The current model is more complicated to thread mostly because of it design. I keep forgetting to release the cutter when I start sewing. Hence having to rethread more often. I found this very evident when changing thread colours. I guess I will just have to get used to it! The controls have also changed, and seam to be in the wrong place ie, the handwheel further back and lower. I have been sewing for a very long time. It's such a shame they changed the design. I really don't understand why they do that! To me if it's not broken then why fix it? The only good thing I can honestly say about this machine is that it has a lovely overlock stich.

Good entry overlocker

I am not a beginner sewer, however bought the overlocker after checking some UTube instructions and it is easier to thread than my 5 thread which is 30 years old. It is an ordinary sewer - not too cheap and not too expensive. The only down side is it cluncks along - quite noisy, however at this stage I am not unhappy. I have not experimented with other functions yet.

Great machine!

Great machine. I’ve been sewing for over 30 years but this is my first overlocker. Machine is easy to use, although the threading can be a bit hard. I found a great video on YouTube which helped a lot. This machine gives a professional finish to all sewing projects.

Light and easy.

Easy to use, instructions make it easy. Much lighter than my old Brother overlocker. Love it!

Overall pleased with purchase, value for money

So far it does what it should, easy to thread as overlockers go although this is my first overlocker. The seam allowance guides could be better displayed

Overlocker with great features for the home sewer.

This product is very well priced for a machine that is a plus to own to give a professional finish to home sewing.

So easy to use - even for a first timer!!

This is the first time I have ever used a overlocker and I found it very easy to use. The DVD was really helpful in threading the machine along with the colour coding threading. I am doing basic overlocking of seams at present but will try other stitches as my confidence grows. I was impressed with how easy it is to use. I am very happy with my purchase.

The features work well

I have found the machine robust as I try many different fabrics and textures. I really like the ease of changing to rolled hem and single needle serging.
