After purchasing the top of the line vortex and being totally unhappy with them I moved up to the Swarovski EL and those are excellent. But then I saw these on sale on Amazon and purchased them to compare. I was impressed at how well they stood up side by side to the Swarovski. I returned the Swarovski and stuck with these top of the line binos from Bushnell. They are a fantastic set of binos. Money was no object nor was bling effect so I went with these. I love them and use them for birding. I highly recommend these and would only recommend the Swarovski over these unless having a super expensive set of binoculars hanging from your neck and everyone knows it is important then for sure get the Swarovski. First of all, let me start by saying I am not a hunter nor a bird watcher. I stumbled on to this binocular by accident when I was trying to repair an old pair of Bushnells that was more than 40 years old. The Bushnell representative was very patient with me and explained all my options from budget friendly to expensive. I had been researching binoculars and am now fairly well versed in the different options and specifications. I am just finishing 10 days in Alaska and I have been using them to look at bears, whales, eagles and Denali. I can not believe the clarity. I have had a chance to do size by side comparisons with other binoculars and everyone has been jealous of my Forge binoculars. Add in the great warranty and durability and I can highly recommend them.

I bought my pair of Forge 8x42 in September 2018 at the American Birding Expo. I had the opportunity to compare these binoculars with other more expensive pairs from other brands. I was impressed by how clear the image from this pair was given their much lower price. I was convinced, and I bought them. When there is good light outside, this pair is as good as more expensive binoculars. However, when there is poor light, the more costly binoculars perform better. If you aren't using this pair of binoculars at dusk or super cloudy days, these are excellent for a reasonable price. I use my binoculars for birdwatching in the Washington, DC, area. The little bridge that holds the lens cover broke a few weeks ago while traveling in Europe. Optically they're very good but their construction is poor, rubber cover is loose and the retaining loops for the front caps broke immediately. The hinge cover fell off. I would not recommend this binoculars, costing 400 euros.
Optically they are very good, they produce nice and crisp images, have enough eye relief for my spectacles and they're very bright.Now for the bad, the rubber armour is loose after 6 months, the retaining loops for the front caps broke immediately and the central hinge cover fell off. I haven't stretched the 8x42's legs out in the wild, but from fit and finish, and checking at low light- they fit the bill. Vastly outclass my Vortex Diamonbacks. Not the most lightweight or compact, but good glass and built well.
