If you are looking for a wireless, compact, lightweight and a portable printer with great print resolution (Up to 4800 x 1220 dpi), then the Canon Pixma TR150 is the printer for you. The printer has multiple print modes, such as Cloud Print, WIFI-Direct, or via the provided USB to USB-C cable. The printer is also able to accept different types and sizes of paper. I tested out the printer with regular 8x11 and glossy 8x11 photo paper and it performed great. The rear printer tray holds up to 50 sheets of regular paper. The printer also features a small mono display in which you are able to change settings. -Print Resolution This printer is able to print up to 4800 x 1200 DPI, and able to take care of any of your printing needs from regular black and white to printing photos. I have been able to take the printer with me on the go and print without any issues so I would definitely recommend that is in the market for a portable color printer to check out the Canon TR150.

This compact printer has some great features, and prints beautiful pictures. But it has one very frustrating quirk: it constantly gives you a paper jam error code, despite the fact that there is no paper jam - ever. Nearly everytime after printing (particularly pictures), it gives a paper jam error code (even after printing a solo sheet), which invaribly requires turning the printer off to clear. Rarely can you print more than one picture/document at a time. I hope Canon provides a software fix.

I had an earlier version of this when I traveled for business years ago when we had internet but GPS devices were still not common to print maps while I was on the road and loved it. This newer version is no exception. If you have a larger laptop bag or backpack this will fit to take with you but also has some good home uses too. Most devices are easy to set up but this has instructions that I found to be very cleverly setup. Scan the QR code or navigate to the set up page and there you will see step by step by step videos. For each section there are two levels, an over view for folks familiar with these things and with a click you get more in depth help. For each section there are two levels, an over view for folks familiar with these things and with a click you get more in depth help. Perfect for the person that can get to the internet but set up is intimidating. Print from phone is not only supported but super easy to set up too. Which leads me to who might consider purchasing this device. With more an more people using their phone or tablet for online orders some people don't have a computer. This is a great option because our need to print reams of documents at home is essentially a thing of the past. Taking up such a small space this is the perfect solution for the occasional return shipping label, grocery list, or a quick print of the granddaughter or nephew's latest achievement for the fridge. The ink comes in very easy to install cartridges - bare in mind that the color cartridge is a single unit with all 3 colors. For space reasons, this is necessary but again if you have a high capacity need a larger non portable printer with individual ink for CMY is probably a better solution. Print quality and speed are very good. I printed several documents on plain and photo paper and the results were excellent (taking into consideration photos on plan paper will only be so, so even on a higher end device) Personally I will use this as a second printer in my sewing room where, again, I sometimes need to print something now and again and am too lazy to go to my home office. I would consider this for the parent, or grand parent that has that occasional need to print and doesn't want a gargantuan device cluttering up their space. If you are looking for a small printer for travel or any other reason I can highly recommend this for both the computer savvy and not so savvy customers.
Canon TR150 form factor is designed for printing on the go featuring compact, wireless and lightweight inkjet printing. This printer is not intended for heavy printing as the cost to print is little expensive compared to regular printing. What is in the box : Canon TR150, power brick with cable, usb cable, ink cartridges, manual, installation cd. Its very small measuring 12.7 in x 7.3in x 2.6in and weighs around 4.5 pounds. This is very easy to carry in a laptop bag if required during travel or places where you will need to print on the go. Unlike Epson WF110, this printer does not come with the battery and needs to be purchased separately if you want to print on the go and would cost around $100 extra on top of $199 which puts this printer at the expensive end. ... MoreCanon TR150 form factor is designed for printing on the go featuring compact, wireless and lightweight inkjet printing. Without the optional battery, this printer is not truly portable and you would need a power source if you want to print which sets this printer more expensive. Setup is easy if you follow the instructional YouTube videos that canon has posted for this product. Suggest to watch for quick setup. It does have a small 1.44 inch OLED control panel where you will find a cool feature to create up to five template like flyers, application forms, consent forms that you can access from the control panel by scrolling down the list and printing it directly without the need of a laptop. Printer does come with a USB port, locking slot and power port. Printer does support wireless Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/a and supports direct printing from other canon products. It does support Apple Airprint and detects from iOS devices for quick printing. Compared to regular inkjet printer, this printer is little slower considering the size. Its advertised to print 9ppm for monochrome and 5.5ppm for color but it takes little longer when printed wireless. Also depends on the content of printing. It took longer for photos to print compared to the regular text or word documents. Recurring ink costs are expensive if you would use this for regular printing and is not economical and this printer does not support duplex printing. Overall, good mobile printer if you are in the market for compact travel printer that would print good quality pages but the lack of battery doesn’t justify the true mobility.
The setup instructions were confusing and inadequate. There was a DVD, but no indication when it should be used or how it should work with the printed instructions. The DVD was very confusing. I had to do much of the setup by pure guess work. This is not for someone without a lot of computer experience. There are two buttons on the printer with no explanation anywhere as to their function. The printed instructions had QR codes to scan, but no indication how to proceed if you don't have a smart phone.
I had the Canon Selphy but the ink cartridges only printed maybe 10 pics before I had to change. Opted for the Canon Tr150, Great printer. Compact, opted in for battery pack as well for portability and based on my use the first time(printing 4x6 Photo booth style pics), starter ink cartridge printed roughly 60 plus(hard to pinpoint as I had customers ask for 2-3 reprints, based off actual content count on drive). Worked well. Print quality looks good and print time was okay roughly minute per but towards end when I had multiple customers could of used a second printer though....overall I recommend. I'm above average user(events, weddings, portraits) so worth the money so far.
Portability!! that’s what this whole unit is all about! I was able to place the printer and my laptop in my backpack with no problems and carry around a whole office in a backpack! That is awesome! I really love how the paper ramp folds into the paper output lip and has a little magnet that keeps it nice and secure. That really lends to a sleek and portable platform that stays closed and really enhances the portability of the unit. It came with the power chord but to really benefit from the portability I would say you really need to have the battery unit for it. Frankly, I was a little disappointed that it did not come with it as it is key to the true wireless portability that really makes this unit pop! Even so, I love this printer. The battery kit is roughly a hundred bucks and some may not need it but if you were a sales rep and you worked out of your car or service tech or freelance business person that needed receipts and invoices that you could not email just plan on buying the battery pack as well. I also think college students would really benefit from this printer because it can fit in a dorm drawer or in a backpack for a study group ect. Again super compact and mobile! The quality of print is about what I would expect from a compact little printer. It is not a photo printer in the strictest sense but I printed a mixed media template with color text, grey shading, black text and a photo and it looked great! (See picture) I would be more than comfortable handing the printed material to a client, professor or colleague. The black text was sharp the color scales were true to the template I used and the photo looked good. The print speed is pretty impressive for its size as well. You could also use it with your phone and take a snap of a document and print it out…boom you have a scanner, copier and printer by using your phone and this little printer on the go that fits perfectly in a backpack!! Canon made set up a breeze as well. Used my laptop cam to scan the QR reader that takes you right to Canon’s web site that walks you through set up and install. Nice and easy! If you need a photo quality printer probably be better to spend the money on a larger desk top Canon model for pictures. If you need the portability and small form factor this ones a no brainer. Canon is an awesome printer manufacture and this little printer fits perfectly into their lineup!
Portable compact printer designed for people on the go! Recommend getting the battery pack (LK-72, costs $99) if you want it to be truly portable. Set-up was a breeze, took me less than 5 minutes to get it connected to my home Wi-Fi (5 GHz) and was able to print my first doc as soon as the set-up was complete. It took me a bit to figure out how to switch networks from home Wi-Fi to my Verizon MiFi hot spot and to configure it to a "wireless direct" print option. All the magic happens when you select the "settings" icon that is displayed on the LCD screen, which wasn't quite obvious the first time I looked at the screen as I kept searching the app for settings option. It goes without saying "when everything else fails, read the manual". The online printer manual link on the canon app came in handy for instructions on how to configure, change settings, connect to cloud, etc. I was able to print documents off of my IPAD (over Wi-Fi), smart phone (Wi-Fi), and PC (via google cloud printer) with all the devices connected to my Verizon WiFi hot spot. I saw couple custom template options on the settings and haven't explored those yet, but I see them coming handy to print custom forms on the go. Haven't tried the USB option to connect the printer directly to the PC, but might be good option when you are not connected to the internet. I noticed the printer does consume quite a bit of ink when you choose high quality prints so be ready to shell out ~$40 for replacement cartridges. Overall, I like this printer and it is compact and portable even though it's a bit pricey for a portable printer, but definitely avoids the misery of running around to find a printer or begging someone else to get you copy of your presentation when you are on the move.
Canon Pixma TR150 is almost one-of-a-kind printer. If you are a business person who travels a lot, and you need to print on location, there are not too many choices you can choose from. This is one of them, and the other one is made by another manufacturer – both have been around for years. Each company upgrades its perspective printers and this one is the latest from Canon. By chance, the previous model's color was silver – this one has been upgraded to all-black. (The other brand, too, if I may say so.) Setting up a printer is not for the faint of heart – but Canon makes it very easy. By chance, the previous model's color was silver – this one has been upgraded to all-black. (The other brand, too, if I may say so.) Setting up a printer is not for the faint of heart – but Canon makes it very easy. If you have a smartphone and a barcode reader (a program), even on the box of the printer you can watch videos on how to do this. The printer comes with a CD disc which pretty much only has a tiny program that leads you to its website (the barcode would've brought you here, as well.) All you need to do is choose the right model of the printer and if you cannot do that, perhaps someone else should be setting up this printer for you instead. It would download the driver for your operating system – but before that, the video will walk you through the actual set up of the printer – inserting the printheads, and the inks themselves. At this stage, you must pay absolute attention because while the printer appears to be very well made, the printhead mechanism looks fragile and can be easily broken if you do not follow the directions explicitly. First – the printheads go in – one for color – and one for black ink. Then you insert the ink cartridges. They are pretty much foolproof because one will not fit the other – but do not forget to remove the tape that protects the head and the plastic cover that protects the inks. The printer will take a few minutes (and you follow the instructions on the little LCD screen) and you have the opportunity to print a test print (at this time, it will align the heads). Then the next step is to actually connect the printer to your computer. I did mine wirelessly through the home's router – and it was beyond easy. I did not even have to set up (or choose which wireless signal the printer should connect to), it shows the strongest one which was pretty much three feet away from the printer and it was the correct choice. You can of course connect the printer to your computer through the USB port. I tried that with one of the desktop, and it worked fine, as well. The next step was to actually print something. Typical Windows printer's driver will allow you to choose "high quality" versus default quality. I printed a paragraph of text, and I drew a box and filled it with rainbow colors (I used CorelDRAW) – it looked totally acceptable to me and it printed quite fast. The paper shot out of the printer (there is no tray to catch it), but you can of course feet blank pages on the top and it will hold a handful. This printer does not do duplex (printing on both sides) but you can do so manually. The driver will guide you to flip the paper over. It really is a handsome printer and small enough that if I were a student, I would take this to the library along with my laptop. There is an optional USD99 battery (rechargeable) that will make the printer work without being plugged in, and it's supposed alas a few hundred pages. (I don't have one test it.) Its competitor (name not mentioned) comes with one, so you know. But if you want to use this printer remotely (on the go) is probably best to connect it via the USB port. There is a way to connect to the computer directly without the router. I feel that if I really have to use this printer on the go, I don't see any problem bringing a USB cable. (It doesn't come with one, but nowadays it costs a little.) I play with the printer quite a bit printing various things. Then I thought what would happen if I were to use generic ink. Brand-name cannot inks aren't cheap – none of them are. The replacement that comes with two Blacks, and one color is almost USD50. I tried generic inks, that cause only three dollars apiece. It installed without any problem and the printer recognized it. And I continue to do test prints, and it continued to work and a little LCD screen was able to tell me the level of the ink. I even printed some photos on color photo paper (by Canon), and it worked fine, too. That could be the option of those who want to save some money – and who hasn't tried aftermarket inks on their printers – let's be honest here. Pros: Well-made, handsome and small printer that you can take with you. Canon makes it very easy to get it going by providing excellent instructions on installing the hardware and the software. Cons: Optional rechargeable battery is a hundred dollars and it doesn't come with it. Let's be realistic here – if they include that, it will increase the value of this printer so much. Lastly, just like any manufactures – the ink cartridges are not inexpensive. It is a pity that this printer is not their Megatank (which has continuous ink tanks) but I realize for printer that can be carried around, the ink can leak all over the place. Fortunately, the generic inks that I have tried worked without any problem. Summary: Beyond useful for those that need to print on the go. Even without the optional battery, unless you have to print in your car, you could plug it in somewhere (i.e. in your hotel or at the library). For students at college, they charge you by the page and it is more convenient to print on the go. If you do print a lot, then invest in their Megatank – but if you are away from your room, this is close to perfect. I understand there are only two manufactures that make portable printers that can print like this – so you know, the other one's ink cartridges is connected to the printhead, so it costs even more to replace.
