$65.95

A multifunctional is really an all-in-one device; it is both a scanner and a printer, and often even has a fax function. So effectively it’s a copier, but one that has the scanning and printing functions available separately. All this is a great advantage when you have limited office space. Moreover, you will be able to work faster and more efficiently by using the device’s convenient special functions.

I read the reviews on this printer and I was a bit worried to purchase it, however it was a good price and the printer comes with ink so I went ahead. Despite the reviews saying it’s hard to set up, I literally set it up within 10 minutes and there weren’t any ‘hard steps’, you just gotta make sure that you have your devices ready that you want to connect to the printer. It’s great for me. The print quality is good and it’s really efficient as a wireless printer. It’s definitely a bargain. Now I don’t have to pay to print at the library anymore, which is great.

I just bought this printer from JB Hi-Fi Chatswood Westfield Store. My previous Canon Pixma MP490 was unable to scan so Upgraded to this model. I’m not sure if ink cartridges come in the box as the guy in JB HiFi says they are test cartridges only half full and I will need to buy new cartridges

A decent printer. It prints relatively quickly for an inkjet if you switch it to black and white only. The wireless app is quite convenient to print from your phone rather than having to get onto the computer just to print. Maybe 20% of the time I have to switch the printer off and on again for the app to recognise it. Wouldn't recommend it if you do a lot of printing but it's great for us to just print the occasional form or postage label. You get what you pay for - if you want a great quality printer you're not going to get it for this price, but if you want one that just does the job, this one is fine.

Good luck connecting it!
31 January 2023

Poor. Bad. Don't know where to start. Can't even connect it, so don't know how it works. Spent 4 hours trying to connect to the wireless/internet connection. Listened to so many YouTube videos on how to fix.....and still no fix. Canon talks about a USB cable which they don't provide, why bother?! Returning it tomorrow if I don't punch it in the next 5 minutes...

Ok printer but never Canon printer again
5 September 2021

Canon can't make drivers for Mac which allow to print in draft mode. This coincidentally makes them money as you will use more ink and buy more of their ink. I have looked up and tried all solutions on the internet but they all don't work. Canon could easily provide this feature but they don't. Will stick to the known printer brands next time. Apart from that an okay printer, nothing special. Not super fast.

Only Connects using 2.4GHz
28 October 2022

I don’t do much printing but it appears to be doing the job up to now and the standard is good for a low cost printer. I had trouble connecting to the network. The wireless function only connects to Wi-Fi band 2.4GHz. As I was using 5GHz and I allowed it to connect automatically it connected to another network. Once I figured out the problem I allowed both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands on the Wi-Fi, it still only picked up the ‘other’ network. I had to reset the printer but I couldn’t find any instructions in the user manual on how to do reset the printer network. Thanks to Google and being IT educated once the printer it then connected and is working satisfactory.

Setup problems out of the box
11 May 2020

I bought this as a replacement for my HP printer that malfunctioned (paper jams). I picked this out due to the price and generally favourable reviews of Canon printers. I am extremely disappointed. Setting up the printer on your home network is the biggest challenge. Firstly it only works if your WiFi network is broadcast on the 2.4GHz frequency. Then there's the Canon app for smartphones which only detects the 'hotspot' the printer broadcasts if the Wi-Fi SSID has a particular naming convention, otherwise it won't find the printer! If you want to install the software on Windows... good luck! My account is the only account on the PC and has local administrator rights but the Canon software exe file tells you that you need administrator rights to install it and backs ... MoreI bought this as a replacement for my HP printer that malfunctioned (paper jams). Oh... better yet, they don't include a USB cable. So, basically, this is an expensive paperweight and I'm considering returning it for a refund...

W11 compatible
9 October 2022

I couldn't find before buying but I can confirm this printer is compatible with windows 11 only says W10 ECT on the box but it's working. I was able to install the software of the CD in the box along with updates from the internet at the same time. Haven't tried printing yet but scans ok. I Only have it connected through my own USB cable as it didn't come with one. Haven't tried wifi. The top lid on this does look a bit cheap with a kind of checkered gloss finish otherwise looks good. Mainly bought to upgrade from a white HP printer with empty cartridges.

Well it prints….
15 September 2021

An absolute nightmare to get the software on a new MacBook that has no USB ports or a CD drive. Even the online download requires a USB connection. Make sure you have a USB-C to USB adapter. Imagine needing to print something ASAP, but being in a lockdown with all retail stores closed and no access to click & collect in a matter of hours. I eventually gave up and downloaded the app to my phone and only print documents through the app now

Wireless connection was just complicated
3 August 2021

I love Canon printers and this printer prints great, however setting up wireless connection was complicated. I have set-up a new laptop and this printer for my sister. It took me more than 30 mins to do this and it was frustrating. When she took home the laptop and the printer, she had to re-install the printer. It was not just a matter of connecting it to her wifi. After helping her on the phone, that took an hour, the error message was, it can’t be connected to a 5G connection. This printer was for home learning and we were both frustrated. She had to go to the shop to buy a cable (I cant believe there is no cable in the box!), where there are many covid infections in the area. She still has not used the printer
