Celestial Seasoning sleepytime tea is my favorite tea. I drink it in the evenings. It makes me feel relaxed and have a good sleep every time I drink it at night. When I was in college, I used to make some for myself and my roommate. She had it for the first time, when I made her some, and she loved it. When we were roommates in college, she would buy herself some, which was when she had her first taste of it and loved it. That made me glad and made my day! Celestial Seasonings is one of the cheaper brands of teas, besides Bigelow. Both are good and affordable teas. I buy mine at Walmart and Kroger. For celestial, you’ll have to separate the packets into one packet, since there’s two packets together. Whereas, Bigelow has one packet with a string.

The Sleepytime Extra has the same flavor as the regular version (which I love), but the added valerian makes it even more relaxing. This stuff knocks me out, in a good way—I think the valerian/chamomile is a great combo. I’ve had trouble sleeping my entire life, and nearly always wake up feeling like death. I’ve tried melatonin, been prescribed sleep meds (ambien, lunesta, trazedone) and even resorted to drinking Benadryl nightly—obviously none of that was sustainable and didn’t help much. I’m sure others getting this tea have experienced the same kind of insomnia, and so this is how I’ve had some success: 1. Make this tea a part of your nighttime routine. Think of it as a trigger. You need to program your brain to know that when you drink this tea, it’s time for bed. This will take a few week, but try to be consistent. You’re building a habit. 2. I personally mix 300mg of theanine into the tea to help with sleep quality. There have been studies done with this amino acid in regards to relaxation and sleep, and I find that I wake up earlier, feeling much more rested. Theanine is not very expensive, you can order it on Amazon from Bulk Supplements. 3. Stay off your phone, TV, and computer at night. Blue light inhibits your brain’s natural production of melatonin, which makes it even more difficult to sleep. It took me a long time to find something that worked. Try it for a couple weeks and maybe it will work for you too.

The digestive system produces proteins to match the typical timing of meals, and the endocrine system regulates hormones to suit normal energy expenditure. So, this is what I call love for me and discipline; 1. Take a magnesium vitamin after your dinner or 30 min before bed 2. turn off all devices.. phone, tablet, computer, tv…. 3. Drink Celestial sleepytime extra tea. Sometimes in the middle of the cup I feel sleepy …Turn off the lights and close your eyes. If you have insomnia or you are very stress you can try one melatonin vitamin and drink Celestial Seasonings sleepytime Extra at bed time and knocks you out. I buy it at Publix or Walmart

This tea has literally been a lifesaver. I've suffered from severe insomnia due to a chronic immune disorder and have been on strong prescription medications for most of my life. With metabolic disorders sometimes medications don't work well and this is where this product has really had an effect. The combination of valerian as well as other herbal ingredients has made a big difference in my ability to fall asleep and stay asleep without waking up with a hung over feeling. Obviously it does not work for me a 100% of the time but that's just because of my health condition. This tea is a sure way to relax your mind and your body before bed making it easier to fall asleep. I’ll preface by saying that I have insomnia and chronic pain so getting me to sleep is very difficult. I picked up a box of the extra sleepytime tea in hopes it would help. The flavor was nice and obviously very easy to make, just steep the tea for the necessary time. It did help me relax but did not make me sleepy, even after 2 cups. Alternatively, my husband can drink a cup and does feel a little sleepy. Overall I wouldn’t say this is a miracle sleep product but it’s nice and I would continue to purchase it.
We love tea in this house so we're always trying out new flavors and brands when we come across them. Since I was a child Ive struggled with insomnia; have tried various remedies and solutions and pretty much the only thing that helped was medication, but I'm not a fan of taking meds unless absolutely necessary so I try not to take sleep aides unless it's a last resort. A few years ago while browsing the tea selection at Walmart, I came across this sleepytime tea and was immediately intrigued and put it in my cart. When I say I slept like a full belly baby, I slept like a full belly baby 😩 not only does this tea taste good, but it's pretty effective too! It's become a staple in my home, my son even drinks some when he's having sleeping problems!
I take this excellent and soothing tea because eases digestive upsets and relieves digestive symptoms, such as gas, bloating, and indigestion. Animal studies indicate that peppermint relaxes your digestive system and may ease pain and that is exactly my experience. I recommend it any dat.May Help Relieve Tension Headaches and Migraines. As peppermint acts as a muscle relaxant and pain reliever, it may diminish certain types of headaches (2).May Freshen Your Breath.
I've used this tea as an relaxing evening beverage for years. I can't say definitively that it promotes quality sleep but it certainly doesn't hurt. They make a stronger version that probably works better for that. This one does not contain velarian root. The mild flavor is from a nice blend of botanicals. I enjoy it with a teaspoon of honey or agave. Especially nice for chilly nights.
