CeraVe Foaming Cleanser 236ml - Normal to Oily Skin

Honest review: I have been using this cleanser for many years, never has it failed me once. I have combination skin, oily but dehydrated, easy irritated and prone to congestion. I do not wear any makeup, only using sunscreen and moisturizer, and it removes everything perfectly. It has a beautiful lather that reassures me that the product is doing it’s job ( i do know that cleansers do not need to lather in order for them to work but I prefer them to). It feels high quality with no frills or fuzz. I researched all the ingredients and i have no issues with any of them. It contains no added fragrance, which is a must for me. It has an extremely light but pleasant smell, similar to water. I read the reviews for this after I bought it and was kinda scared it would break me out. Turns out my fears were unfounded. My skin is fairly sensitive and I'm prone to ingrown hairs. Of course, YMMV, but this stuff has been working wonders for my skin, and I use it right after shaving when my skin is most sensitive. I'm not sure if the other reviewers received a bad batch, left the product on too long, or had an allergic reaction to a component within, but I have had zero issues and have nothing but good things to say about this stuff. To be on the safe side, I moisturize heavily and apply an alcohol-free aftershave as soon as I finish washing my face. Started using this 4 months ago. I used to have crazy breakouts but since using this cleanser my breakouts are extremely rare. I use this every night in the shower. I would 100% recommend this brand. I wish I knew how good it would be so I could have started using it earlier instead of ones that weren't working. I have been using this product for the better part of a decade and I haven’t found a cleanser that I can depend on everyday, all times of the month, that just gets the job done and nourishes my skin. If you have this or have tried this and it didn’t foam up enough, try adding a bit more water next time or wet the hand that doesn’t have product on it then rub your hands together until you have the desired lather. It is part of a routine that helped get my dry textured skin under control and introduced me into the world of ceramides, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. It was the first product that made me want to research ingredients and learn more about what goes in my skincare and what is its function. I quickly strayed away from western products and my love affair with sokoglam.com began. We are getting a bit off topic here but a key takeaway is that this made in America, drugstore product has survived even my Korean skincare deep dive. Within two weeks I had small milia-like whiteheads all over my forehead and eyelids which has never happened with other cleansers before. My skin was oily constantly and my acne was rearing its ugly head with a vengeance. I thought maybe it’s just acclimating to this new cleanser. I managed to keep up with this for a month before I booted it and went back to the Clear Pore cleanser. My skin calmed down within two weeks and the whiteheads disappeared. Obviously this cleanser works wonders for other people but in my experience

The product itself works pretty well. My face feels fresh after use and it does help with oily skin. I recommend moisturizing after bc your skin needs the good moisture.However, the pump begins to leak with a dark brown, sticky residue that smells like rust after some time. I had to take apart the bottle and clean the pump by rinsing one end while soaking the other, pumping water through until clean. This residue was only in the pump, and did not affect the product in the bottle, but was getting in everything I pumped out. I don’t want to be cleaning my face with rust.It was disgusting and I would not use a product from CeraVe with a pump-container again. No joke. When you rinse it away, your skin feels slippery and smooth still; not even the faintest amount of "squeakiness" at all.Now... if you pat your face dry and let your face get bone dry afterward- of course your face will get dry!
