Cetaphil Eye Gel-Cream, Hydrating - 0.5 fl oz

I decided to try this because it was recommended by so many people. I had hopes it would completely get rid of my dark circles. Although this was very hydrating, i still have dark circles with continued use. I feel like this product works as well as it's supposed to, but i was looking for one more geared towards completely getting rid of dark circles. This is a current staple in my routine, but i'm actively searching for a more intense eye cream.

I have a serious problem with dark circles, so I'm always on the lookout for a great under eye cream. All I have to say is Wow! certainly did not disappoint! My under-eye circles were instantly gone. My eyes looked immediately brighter and felt very cool and hydrated. They looked 1000% better after using this cream I have to admit. It absorbed really quickly into my skin, but was a little tacky at first for a few seconds. I learned how important it is to take of your skin early on to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. I also had plenty of sleepless nights during my undergraduate and graduate school years. I owe it to this product for keeping my skin in tact and preventing dark circles. The consistency is like a thicker gel at first but it quickly melts in your skin when you apply it. I haven’t noticed any tiny bumps around my eyes like I had before with other eye creams. I feel like this is great for all skin types.

Caution!

I was so excited about this eye gel-cream because I love Cetaphil products. But this eye cream is actually very harsh. After one application my under eyes became very irritated. The next day the skin under my eyes was red, itchy and extremely swollen - under my eyes looked as though I aged 10 years overnight. I stopped use immediately and it took a good week of icing and extreme moisturizing under my eyes to clear it up. Not sure what ingredient makes this so harsh but I don't have sensitive skin and have used numerous eye creams in the past without this reaction. Kind of a bummer.

Excellent!

Incredible! I was having some serious redness and flaking skin around my eyes. Nothing helped, other “natural” products burned and made it worse. After researching online, I came across this product and the consistently 5-star ratings. And bonus, it’s a fraction of the price of prestige beauty brands. I saw results within hours. The gel is light-weight feeling, smooth, doesn’t sting/burn and has no scent. New lifetime consumer of this product! Can’t wait to see the long term results!

Eyes became itchy after use

I like Cetaphll products a lot and was hoping this was yet another good one. Unfortunately, within a short time after applying it my eyes became very itchy. I assumed it was a seasonal pollen reaction. I tried it the next night and same thing happened. I stopped using it and the itching went away. I still wasn’t convinced it was the eye cream/gel. I tried using it again and got the same reaction. Sadly, back to the drawing board or back to the expensive cream I’m familiar with.

I Shouldve listened to the negative reviews

I used this product for about a week and everything was fine until I woke up one day with chemical burns around my eyes where I applied the product. It was super painful and red with some swelling. I would consider My skin a little sensitive (barely) which is why I was so surprised when I had a chemical burn from it. I applied the product as directed and yet this happened. This was so disappointing especially since I was noticing the dark circles under my eyes going away.

Such a great product!

This is the first eye cream I’ve actually used every day, once or twice per day with my regular skincare routine. One tube has lasted me almost 8 months. In addition to poor sleep and allergies, I have hereditary sunken dark circles so they’ll never be completely eliminated. But, unless I’ve gotten so used to my makeup-less face after working home for 2.5 years, I really do feel like this has brightened my skin and reduced some fine lines (there weren’t a lot, I’m only 28). It certainly looks less dull and not as dark purple after using this for 8 months. It’s also super lightweight! And if I do wear makeup, I HAVE to use concealer and such under my eyes to cover my dark circles. This really helps my makeup not flake/cake under my eyes. I also have sensitive eyes and skin and this has not caused any problems. I wouldn’t say it’s a total holy grail, but I am very reluctant to try anything else because I’m so happy and comfortable with this product. At some point I want to “graduate” to something with retinol but for now this is what I’ll be using.

This cleared my ezcema after only two applications!

It was actually the serum I purchased which is in the same size tube. I had an extremely bad ezcema episode around my eyes. The lids were so dry the skin was cracking and peeling. The corners of my eyes hurt terribly. It continued on around nose, chin and neck. I had been slathering almond oil and just about anything pretty close to natural with no harsh chemicals or fragrance for several weeks. I was so desperate one evening, I went to the drugstore to see if I could find something to soothe my skin. I thought I'd give this a shot. I went to sleep that evening for the first time in a long time with no pain from the dryness. The next morning, although still crackly, the skin around my eyes, nose, lips was noticably better.
