So he loses interest after a few tosses. For a fun night time activity, this ball is great. Other than adding a mouse maker when thrown and/or squeak, I can't see any obvious design improvements which would make it better.

Gee, aren't durability, longevity, and sturdiness all the same thing? Anyway my Pit Lo-o-oves this ball! He a ball junkie to begin with and this makes fetch a 24hr opportunity since darkness is no longer game over. Not only does this glow, it makes a whirring sound like a ufo so he can hear what direction it went. Speaking of ufos, it looks like one bounding thru the woods when he retrieves it. He is a chewer when it comes to balls. Destroys tennis balls in minutes. This ball holds up very well although his tenacity can eventually defeat the ball. I just take it away and substitute something else. Nothing can stand up to a dog's determination without damaging their teeth. This does a very respectful job of it and is dental friendly.

So we tried a couple light up balls. They were fine, but soon destroyed or stopped lighting up. We tried a glow ball, but it didn’t light up well, and had absolutely no bounce (who makes a dog ball that doesn’t bounce?). Then we landed on the Chuck It glow ball and what a wonderful toy!First off the glow is pretty bright, it’s lit up pretty good for half an hour. Heck, I’ve seen it in the middle of the night, still glowing from the minimal charge it gets from room lights the night before. Leave this out as a night light to get your bearings. It gets a little bit difficult to see in the air at sun rise, but I can always see it once landed.Second, it’s durable. My little girl is tough on her toys and she’s yet to even make a dent on this ball. However we do reserve it for fetch time only. She can tear the old tennis balls up when she’s running around the house. Also, The Chuck It ball has a couple of holes in it and they make a hollow whistling sound when thrown into the air. I swear my dog uses that whistle as she running to.

I was initially surprised by the construction. I'd read it had a hole passing through it, but didn't realize it was also completely hollow. I was expecting something more solid, but in spite of that, this ball didn't disappoint--me or my dog.It immediately became a favorite toy for both of us. I also have a Nerf dog ball that she loves to bits--which is why I was getting this one. It doesn't fall to bits and she's a power chewer. I'd been looking for softer options than nylabones--not that there's anything wrong with the three she's wearing down to nubs, but I get the impression she likes softer chews too--and this has a great balance of being squishy and durable. It recharges during the day, and between indirect sunlight and fluorescent lighting, it's lasted even the longest night of the year with enough glow to see it. Watching the glowing ball bobbing about in midair as my girl retrieves it it is exactly as entertaining as I imagined. It's a welcome addition to her little hoard of treasures, and it's the one she uses most to ask me to play.Shoulda bought the two-pack.

I bought this ball for my heeler mix since we go for walks in the morning and she was having trouble tracking her other Chuckit! balls in the semi-darkness. It's not super bright, like the light-up ball we had (which broke after maybe a dozen uses), BUT it is bright enough for Nalani to track it and find it in the dark, which is really all I was looking for. I lose track of it, but as long as she can find it, I'm happy. It's also lighter and bouncier than the other Chuckit! balls we have (regular, erratic bounce, and recycled), and it whistles a bit, which helps in tracking it through the air. As with all our other Chuckit! balls, it holds up really well to my dog's fairly aggressive chewing, though I don't leave it with her unattended.Overall, I am 100% pleased ... MoreI bought this ball for my heeler mix since we go for walks in the morning and she was having trouble tracking her other Chuckit! balls in the semi-darkness. DO NOT BUY Dangerous product
26 December 2020

After playing with this for 40ish minutes at the park on Xmas day my dog froze mid retrieval which is completely out of character for him. I approached and found him panting and excessively drooling. I attempted to grab the ball to find my dog had got his tongue stuck inside the ball and it had formed a suctioned seal that we were unable to break and as he was trying to use his tongue to push it out it just kept getting worse and was quickly stuck in the back of his throat. It took maybe a minute for the situation to get this bad. After a 30 minute ordeal we were eventually able to dislodge the ball.Afterwards I inspected the ball and found the section where the squeaker is located had been pushed inside the ball and left a hole maybe 2cm in diameter. I think this should be recalled and redesigned.Brought this off another website. But trying to share my story so wherever I can to prevent this happening to someone else.

Lightweight, bouncey ball of glow
19 February 2017

I went for the large one because AI have Labrador retriever dog. This is the most expensive dog ball I have ever seen or purchased , it is quite good, but not as heavy as the standard orange and blue Chuckit ball and not as heavy and not as good in the water (more difficult to see). However it is a very good product for using in the park or the garden during the evening. It has a glow worm type glow when kept close to a bright light for 5 minutes and the glow seems to outlast an evening walk , still able to see it glowing brightly after 30minutes. It is lightweight and so go for indoors , the dog likes it because he can squeeze it in his mouth quite easily as it is much softer material than the standard chuckit balls. It has two holes , one in the top and one in the bottom, not sure why, but you can put treats inside it when using indoors. It is extremely robust , and the dog it unlikely to be able to chew it to pieces , I am sure of this because my dog is known for breaking his toys and play balls and has not managed to make even a mark on either the standard chuckit or this latest addition, the glow chuckit. I am very happy with the purchase , I will be keeping a close eye on it because it wasn't cheap and I would not want to have to pay for a replacement , it is a one off purchase for me , an extra because I spoil my dog and I genuinely enjoy seeing him chasing after this futuristic glowing ball of bounce, its great, go get one! Tip: Get size Large for any dog which is larger than a small Labrador.

My boy is obsessed with these balls
12 November 2022

This is my staffy's favourite ball of all time. He will not play with any other ball. He loves placing it in his mouth and biting down on it (I call it his pacifier as he is in his happy place when he has this ball) & also catching it in the air off the bounce when I throw it far from the chucker ball launcher. They are really bouncy in the beginning. We seem to go through them a bit quicker nowadays as they eventually end up with a tear which I will assume is from him biting on them but I just stock up when they are on sale.

My favorite dog ball.

I bought these Chuckit Max Glow Balls because my three LED, internally lit, balls all died after 2 or 3 battery change cycles. The Metorlight LED balls I had were fun for a short time, with their changing colors, but could not stand up to the hard landings associated with Chucket launchers. Also, my Planet Dog whistle balls had such a weak glow, they were useless for playing fetch in the dark, (although they are wonderful for daytime fetching.) These Chuckit Max Glow balls, have now become my favorite all around dog ball. 1. The Max Glow Balls glow very brightly when lit with any bright light, including my pocket 550 lumen flashlight. They remain bright for 5 or 6 long Chuckit launched fetches. I find I prefer to give the ball a 5 second burst of light from my flashlight before each Chucket launch, just to keep it very bright, and to provide the maximum glow time in case my dog gets distracted, and I have to go find the ball, myself. They have some weak, but noticeable phosphor glow, even after hours of being exposed to bright light. 2. The Max Glow Ball is light weight and bounces well. It is also deal for indoor play, because it can bounce off about anything, without breaking anything. Both my dogs love playing with this ball, indoors or out. It has a soft chewy texture, that will not hurt teeth. It seems to provide a chomp experience for my dogs that is satisfying, and the nice bounce gives them some chase excitement. 3. These Max Glow Balls, so far, seem indestructible. My friends, with toy killing Labs and I, all agree. . . any amount of dog play with these balls, seems to leave them as good as new. (An unsupervised dog who is intent on ripping at the ball's 5/8 inch holes, could probably destroy them, but, so far, my dogs show no inclination to rip away at the holes.) 4. These Max Glow Balls have two 5/8 inch holes, one on each side. This means the bounce does not rely on air pressure, but strictly on the ball material, itself. Also, because of the holes, the air flowing around the ball, when in flight, creates an audible sound that the dogs can detect and follow, while racing full speed toward the eventual landing spot of the ball. This sound is not as pronounced as a proper whistle, but does seem to be good enough for the dogs to follow, and the hole construction is so simple, it is much more rugged than the fragile whistles on my whistle balls.
