I think all pregnancy tests are honestly pretty equally reliable. You could get some from the dollar store and if you’re pregnant and have HCG levels high enough, you’re going to test positive on any test. However, that being said, I still always buy this brand. My first ever positive pregnancy test was one of the ones that you have to read the lines and I just could not tell if it was really there or if I was imagining things. The test itself has a wide tip and an angled handle that makes it easier to use. There are two windows, one that is blank for the control line and another that has a faint horizontal negative line. Once used, the horizontal negative line becomes darker, and a vertical control line should show up in the second window. If the result is positive, there would be a vertical line creating a cross with the horizontal negative line. It is simple to read the results and see that it worked correctly. It also displays the results quickly so no anxious waiting (or at least not for long). The only downside is it appears to have very faint vertical lines on the plastic window piece covering the test results zone, so if you look too closely it could appear as if there is a shadow or faint line making a positive result when it is not. It is really really light, and not any blue color to it, but if someone was really looking closely trying and wanting to see a positive line there, they could maybe talk themselves into thinking they see a very faint shadow.

My husband and I are trying to conceive so I am no stranger to pregnancy tests. I have been using the tests that require peeing in a cup and boy has this changed my life!! It's so easy and takes so much less time than I am used to. I am not a skinny person so seeing down in that area is a no go. I have to take a guess as to whether or not I'm actually hitting the cup. I really like that I can put the cover on and not have to worry about urine getting on the counter when I put it down. The hardest part of taking the test is the anticipation. Hi ladies- I also got two tests that already had a blue negative line. I was upset after doing the first test and nothing changed except the absorbent tip turned pink. I was about to call target and ask for my money back but I was determined to do it a little differently with my second test. This time I COMPLETELY pushed the test ALL THE WAY DOWN into the cup and pressed the bottom of the cup with the stick and counted to 5 slowly. Then right away I noticed through the windows that the test strip seeped slowly left to right with the urine, unlike the first one that seemed to stay completely dry. The control line popped up, and the positive also followed within seconds. To make sure, I used my other test that I also don’t like that much. The control window should always have a blue line that indicates its working and the result will be valid. In the result window, a blue line, either horizontal or vertical will appear. Horizontal is not pregnant and any indication of a "t" (horizontal and vertical crossing lines) indicates pregnancy. In order to set the color changing tip, you can either pee directly on it for 5 seconds or pee into a cup and dip the tip in for 5 seconds. The stick will turn pink so you know it worked. when I used it, the result of a horizontal line only appear. This was almost immediately. This got me worried. Now I'm trusting the result within the 10 minutes but their is some concern about seeing something different 20 mins later. While I trust Clearblue rapid test, there still can be a cause for pause when using it.
