I’ve been using Clinique as a teen and now in my early 40’s. A brand I trust to deliver great results and basically says on the tin. I use the mild facial liquid soap first thing in morning and taking make up off before bed. It’s so mild, doesn’t sting my eyes and doesn’t leave my skin dried out. It leaves my skin smooth, supple, makeup free and a wonderful fresh feeling. A brilliant routine to maintain without complicating things. The two bottles are the same product, but the brand is being as much of an eco friendly move. The one on the left is the older type bottle with the bigger pump. It’s a shame as the bigger pump isn’t recyclable deemed a no-no for the environment. Wouldn’t change this and my fantastic skin routine. Thank Clinique

Changed the bottled and impossible to get product out. Been using this product years. Not very inclusive is it? Unless you have the strength of an elephant the bottle is too hard. I've stopped using it as I don't have time to wrestle with it and my hands hurt. It either comes out too much or not at all. For the first time the bottle has sat in my bathroom untouched for days. Have switched brand for first time in ages. The old pump was amazing - hygienic and dispensed the right amount. Now I use another brand's cleanser I'm likely to transfer over to them for everything else. I need my skincare accessible and convenient. Listen to the feedback - you're giving away your profits.

The first thing I noticed about this new "All About Clean" version of the regular Mild liquid soap was that the smell was different, and not pleasant. This cleanser used to have a spa-like, pure quality about it. Then, as the bottle has gone on, I've noticed tiny red bumps spread across my cheeks (using the same methods I have for years of lathering first in my hands, and fully rinsing), and then also, some cystic-type bumps have come up too, which I never used to have. (I'm at least 20 years away from being a teenager.) And, the pump is replaced with a new cheap flip-top? I came on here to see if others have felt the same, and they do! WHY, Clinique???!!! Why change the best mild formula ever, and add horrid chemicals? I may continue to use the bar soap, but the ... MoreThe first thing I noticed about this new "All About Clean" version of the regular Mild liquid soap was that the smell was different, and not pleasant. I have been using this mild cleanser for years and love it! Always, i would give it a five star review.Today I received the new purple pump, and started to use the soap. There was a plastic glue like smell to it, and it burned my hands and face. I am very distraught.Did you change the formulation? The website says same formulation just new packaging. Then, I came to the reviews and I see many other people writing the same thing after they received the new packaging. Please let us know if you've change the formulation. This was my go to cleanser for many many years. I don't know what I'm gonna do without it.
This review regards the Extra Mild formula - the Mild formula I would give 4-5 stars, but the Extra Mild only 1-2 (they ought to separate the reviews by formula). I got a bottle with my points because the points were about to expire and there was nothing else on offer that I wanted. I have very dry skin that's been getting drier with winter coming on, so I thought I'd finally try the extra mild. I used it three times - the first two were all right - I thought it smelled faintly of oats, which I found calming. It left a coating on my skin, pretty much like when you use a cleansing balm or oil, which I was willing to accept if my skin wouldn't feel so tight after washing. The third time I used it, my face started to burn, my cheeks turned red, my eyelids swelled, and my whole face felt hot, tight, swollen, and sandpapery. It's been a few hours and it hasn't improved much. I feel like it's burned the top layer of my skin off. A lot of others seem to have experienced similar allergic reactions to this Extra Mild formula, but I looked up all the ingredients on EWG's Skin Deep site, and only tocopheryl acetate and phenoxyethanol seem likely culprits. But they're also both in the Mild version, which doesn't give me an allergic reaction. There must be something in it that so many people are reacting negatively to.
I have used Clinique products since they first came out. I have other products that I use along with my Clinique, but I find the cleansers, toners & moisturizers, scrubs & masks work really well and they work well together with my other products. I see people complain all the time that "it doesn't take off makeup". IT ISN'T MEANT TO, it is meant to cleanse your skin. The makeup now that we use is NOT like the makeup we used years ago. I was a makeup artist for many years and the makeup we use now is made to be long lasting, has more pigments, and made more transfer, smudge & smear proof. YOU NEED a makeup remover BEFORE you clean your face. MOST face cleanser will not take it off completely unless it specifically says makeup remover. YOU NEED a makeup remover BEFORE you clean your face. MOST face cleanser will not take it off completely unless it specifically says makeup remover. I have tried it myself with several cleaners. I washed my face and then went with a micellar water on a cotton pad and there was still LOTS of residue left behind. SO, I use the TAKE THE DAY OFF Balm or the liquid to remove my makeup first. ALSO, if you are using sunscreen every day, which you should be doing to help save your skin, it is made sweat proof, etc. to stay on, so it is a good idea to use a makeup remover liquid or a micellar water on a cotton pad and run it over your face to make sure you get it all off. THEN I use this Mild soap cleanser AFTER the makeup remover to clean up any residue left. It makes sure your skin is clean and there is nothing left behind to cause problems. I am in my late 60s and love the Clinique products that I use. This mild cleanser is great because it doesn't leave me oily or greasy but also doesn't leave me dry or dehydrated. It is perfect for my combo skin. There is no fragrance to irritate or cause allergic reactions. I like that it foams a little with water and my skin feels clean and fresh afterwards and not stripped. I used to use the Mild Bar Soap and found this liquid is so much easier to use. It is good basic skin care and I find it works well with any other products I use.
I used Clinique exclusively from the time I was 25 until I was in my early 50's. I thought when I hit that age I should up my game with a more expensive line. Honestly, I didn't notice a difference but kept using the more expensive line. I'm now almost 68 and have returned to Clinique and the 3 step system. I'm so glad I did! Years ago, I used the cleansing bar. I've just started using the liquid soap cleanser and I love it! It leaves me feeling clean but not stripped of moisture.Clinique, please keep making these wonderful products! Ladies, straying from what works and works well just doesn't make any sense! I wish now I hadn't left, but I'm back now and won't make that mistake again!
I have combination oily, aging, sometimes sensitive skin, prone to acne/milia, and I use the facial soap for oily skin. It is a liquid gel consistency and doesn't necessarily foam, but is effective at removing my sunscreen, moisturizer, sweat, sebum, the little makeup that I wear, and any dirt/pollution. [If you wear makeup, I'd recommend using makeup remover first, then finish with this cleanser.] I turn cleansing into a massage using this product, to give the active ingredients time to work, on my face, ears, neck, decollete, and the bumpy areas on the back of my upper arms (KP). My face feels fresh and clean, not stripped, and there is a lovely cooling minty sensation on my skin as the water evaporates. It is a lovely experience! My face feels fresh and clean, not stripped, and there is a lovely cooling minty sensation on my skin as the water evaporates. It is a lovely experience! On days when my skin feels like it might react to actives or the minty fresh sensation, (I use Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser instead, as a backup plan, but this is my preferred cleanser.) Also, a little goes a long way--it only takes one or two pumps of product per cleansing. I'd recommend this for anyone with oily skin, male or female (it's unscented and gender neutral), but if acne is a bigger problem, go with the acne line of products Clinique offers. I follow cleansing with this soap with Clarifying Lotion 3 (exfoliant toner) and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel or Jelly (both are oil free--the DDM lotion has oils). I would think that this soap would be drying without some kind of moisturizer, even a light oil-free moisturizer.
It Cosmetics made my all time favorite cleansing balm. Then they changed the formula and they put a rose fragrance in it. I really dislike scents in anything I put on my face. I went with this instead of the clinique cleansing balm, because this was cheaper. I went shopping for another and settled on this mild face soap. Plus Clinique rarely, if ever, puts scent in their products. I always use a makeup remover and follow up with a cleanser. Even with the help of a makeup remover this soap had a hard time taking off regular mascara. I really tried to like it, but this just wasn't the product for me. It didn't clean and remove my makeup all that well.
Been using this for a few weeks. Started to use it when first purchased it but found my skin which is very sensitive was very prone to outbreaks and pores appeared more blocked. Also the smell is very much like cheap soap not like the previous liquid soap I have purchased from Clinique. I stopped using it and reverted to another brand which improved my skin tone within a week. This week I started to use this product again only to develop spots and enlarged pores again. Sadly very disappointing as I have used Clinique for a long time but will be throwing this away, Not impressed with new product and also packaging is very awkward.
