I am delighted with this pepper grinder, it works a treat. Best thing about it is the stainless steel grinding mechanism, every other company seems to use the ceramic mechanisms and I don't like them as they don't last. Product was packaged nicely and safely so arrived in perfect condition and in good time. Thank you.

Have persevered with this, trying different types of rock salt, but it never worked well. The grinding mechanism is plastic and just doesnt do the job Im afraid. Have finally thrown it out.

Quality product. Change of grinding to coarse not designed as well as it should be. Seems to be a standard - never noticed the possibility before.
I wanted something MADE IN BRITAIN and got these - albeit - very nice Salt & Pepper pots as the company claimed these were made & designed in the UK. Not so, made in bloody China! They are made from what seems to be Beech, or some other hardwood. Nicely made, and silky smooth to touch. The setting are adjustable, and it grinds sea salt and whole pepper corns with ease! The only complaint apart from that already mentioned, is there is only a small black letter right on the top nut to tell you what is what. It gets a 1 star as it isn't made in the UK as claimed.
Tactile pleasure - Wooden body has nice shape and finish; the mechanism feels good to use. It grinds pepper - fine thru course consistently - and one can dose a boiled egg accurately. It works well! Minor criticism; threading of metal nut on top is poor and means it is fiddly to put back on after filling. Qu. Why does the mechanism say England and the attached tag made in China? Reshore this product and create British jobs.
Both my old sets of grinders gave notice during lockdown, and this set from Cole & Mason has taken their place. Not only are they a good size (not too big and not too small), but the beech wood is a lovely colour and has a nice feel. They grind without effort and the results (finer or coarser) are readily adjustable. Perfect.
This classic pepper grinder has understated style and a perfectly smooth action. Not my first Cole & Mason and it won't be my last.
