This was perfect when cooking on our gas stove in the open air to keep the wind from blowing the heat away from under the hotplate, or pan. Without the shield it was very difficult to get enough heat to cook anything. With the shield, it was much easier. I particularly like the small width of each of the 8 panels, making it very easy to place close to the burner being used. It is very light weight (important for hiking or motor-homing) and comes in its own easy to use carry bag which keeps it clean and dust free between uses. I felt I should have bought 2 to give better shelter to both burners of the gas stove, but being unsure of the quality and practicality only bought one initially. We have not had the opportunity to use this windsheild .Even though we checked the measurements before ordering it does look a little smaller than we Imaginedbut believe it will still do the job adequately.
Flimsy as. Lucky I got it on sale. If I could find the receipt I’d take it back. It has so many joins the wind blows right through it.
This is a good idea, but it is just too lightweight and flimsy, we could not get it to stand up on its own and you would have to half bury it in sand to make it worthwhile using. Mind you this was whilst there was bearly any wind whatsoever.If I had a receipt I would have returned it and got my money back.
Extremely lightweight but had no problem of it falling in the wind. Great buffer for outside cooking when camping to keep the flame even and hot
Really glad we bought this. Really good at blocking the wind and saving cooking fuel. light weight and slot at the back of my bag no problems! We got it on a deal though, bit pricey for what it is full price!
love how small and light this is. We had a windy camp and it made a huge difference for our stoves. Without the shield, we couldn't keep them alight.
I had a pot handle catch fire when cooking on a small burner and a fellow camper lent me his windshield. Got my own now- just makes cooking in wind outdoors so much easier.
