The set is beautiful. As other reviews have mentioned, be aware that the colors are less vibrant in person than in the photos, and the pattern seems to be printed on top of the glaze/glassy surface, such that you feel a matte texture when you handle or wash. Additionally the bowls do not stack tight inset one another. This does not bother me at all, but is good to be aware of. The first two reasons are the only reasons I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise I am very pleased and expect these to be as durable as any Corelle - an exceedingly reliable product in my experience. Others have complained about the non-uniform, hand-painted look of the pattern. That seems a silly complaint to me - it is clear these are meant to have a vintage, hand-painted aesthetic, ... MoreThe set is beautiful. I needed something light and durable for family coming to visit with children. I also wanted something with a cute design since my adult chinaware were a bit too heavy. After using the set for a week, I really like the ease of use and is practical for daily use. I especially like the bowl, it was a tad bit smaller than the bone china one I use daily and the bowl's lip design made it easy to grip. My only irk about this set is the design pattern has a slight texture to it. I washed the dishes a few times to get rid of the factory protectant coating but the blue ink still has that sandpaper-ish feeling. I'm not sure if the texture is part of the design or if that top coating will eventually rinse off. I typically don't buy patterned designs but this set really caught ... MoreI needed something light and durable for family coming to visit with children. I purchased my first set of Portofino 8 months ago and decided to purchase another set. The blue graphics on the second set I received looked faded and much lighter in color than the first set I received from Corelle 8 months ago. Very dissatisfied with the inconsistency in the color. I love their dishes, but now when I set my table, I have visibly different pieces.

I had ordered this set last week for the thanksgiving dinner. Two of the dinner plates has multiple orange/yellow stains. The plates are too light and flimsy as compared to the Corelle Bandhana set I previously owned. Not sure if the quality of Corelle has gone down.I have decided to keep the dinner set in order to avoid repacking and returning them. I’m disappointed with this purchase.
Bought these last year (2022), unfortunately they don’t hold up like they used to. I’ve had to have one already replaced as it broke in half in the dishwasher. After a year of use some are chipped and the pattern fades on MANY plates. For the price I paid I can honestly say it was not worth it.Grew up with these plates/bowls and not one ever broke or chipped can definitely tell there’s a quality difference from then to now.
The dinnerware set arrived safely--no broken pieces! I think the online photos look a little more I vibrant, but it is a pretty set. My only complaint is that, as others mentioned, the bowls don't stack properly. They take up a lot of vertical space, and they'll likely topple over if you try stacking more than three high. I do prefer this round shape to the semi-square ones in our old set, but at least those stacked perfectly!Service for 6 is perfect for us--thank you, Corelle, for that option!Notice that this set doesn't come with coffee cups. We use our own random collection of mugs anyway, so that's another plus for us. If you need matching cups, you'd have to purchase them separately.I looked at all kinds of dinnerware this time around, but I'm spoiled for ... MoreThe dinnerware set arrived safely--no broken pieces! They're so light, durable, and inexpensive, I can't imagine going back to heavy dishes that chip if you look at them sideways. But please, Corelle, can't you make us some round cereal bowls that stack?
I have had my old set of Corelle for 36 years. This new set is not near the same quality as the old. I am going to send back some pieces because the quality in the design looks like a child painted it. Out of my 12 dinner plates, I have only 5 that I am happy with. The painted design is sloppy on the remaining 7 and the blue rim around the edge is so inconsistent. Some have a thin line and some have lines that are fat and wavy. One of the salad plates has the design on the back, apparently from being stacked on one that was wet. I waited 36 years for a fancy, new pattern and I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the dinnerware and the workmanship in the painted design. I spent about $350 for 12 place settings and as many matching pieces as I could find that ... MoreI have had my old set of Corelle for 36 years. This new set is not near the same quality as the old. I spent about $350 for 12 place settings and as many matching pieces as I could find that would go with it. It is too much to send back, so I guess I will have to settle with trying to get the inferior plates swapped out. I was really hoping Corelle would come through with some more great dinnerware, as I have always sworn by their brand. I’m not sure if this set will last as long and I am always going to be looking at the way the design looks so sloppy and different on every piece. I’m not as excited as I thought I would be for this new set.
I have bought Corelle Dinnerware multiple times over 45 years. These are by far the most disappointing quality. The design image has an icky feeling to it. It lies on top of the surface and feels like it would scratch with a knife or cleaning pad. The dishes are much thinner than the older versions. I put them right back into the box and will gladly pay for the shipping label to send them back.
The dishes are lightweight and beautiful. However, one of the primary reasons for ordering was to get bowls that nest nicely, and these do not. I have to make multiple stacks to fit them into my cupboard. And beyond that, the bowls don't fit well in my late-model dishwasher. I have to leave an empty space between every two bowls in order for the water to get through and wash them. We decided to keep the sets anyway, because they are otherwise very nice.Shipping was reasonably fast, and nothing was damaged in spite of the scarce packaging.
After 33 years I thought I thought it might be time to add to my Corelle dishes. I received a set, English Rose if I recall correctly, as a wedding gift in 1988. After 33 years, I was down to 6 plates and 4 bowls. Since we've gone from a family of 4 to 6 (with the kids' spouses) it was time to add some plates to the mix. I've been happy with the original gift and after 33 years it's been pretty indestructible (except the time I set a plate on the stove burner. That didn't turn out so well.) While Portofino doesn't go with my old set, I like that it's bright colors and fun design and it makes me happy to see them at the table. And of course being Corelle, I plan on this set to last another 33 years. I have enough cups and didn't need or want to pay for those. Thanks, Corelle, for last quality!
