This is my 1st belgian wafflemaker and I am so glad that I decided to make this purchase. Cuisinart is my go-to small kitchen appliance brand that has NEVER let me down! Keeping in mind that I always do my due diligence prior to my actual purchase. In my home I need to be confident about my purchases, as I am a single mother. Every penny counts in my kitchen. The Cuisinart brand has never let me down! If ever that day happens, I am quite certain that their customer servicewarranty is top notch. Thanks for taking the time to read my honest review. Now go ahead and buy this product with confidence. Do it!

I got this to replace an older waffle iron.It works fine, but truly no better than the really old iron. It has the same problem as the old one: contrary to it's advertisement, the elements are hottest in the center, and on the bottom, so the bottom center of all the waffles are always much darker than the edges and the top. But it makes waffles and it's fine.I'm marking it down one star because it really needs a timer/beeper to let you know when it's preheated and when the waffles is done cooking. The owners manual does not give advice on how much batter to pour in: I expected instructions on how much to dose in cups/oz etc. Also, wish it came with a recipe.

Iāve used this for a few months and itās a really good waffle maker. 4 waffles evenly cooked with little to no overflow. Iāve been using the Kruteaz mix and the smallest recipe on the box perfectly fills this waffle maker. The only thing I would like changed is an audible alert when the green light comes on that indicates the preheat is ready for batter and waffles are ready to eat. The slide bar for cooking time gives a lot of leeway so if you want your waffles soft or extra crispy you are free to choose. Waffles lift out without a problem and an easy wipeout with a paper towel is all it needs. I really like the way it stores as it locks when closed and stands upright out of the way. In June when I realized it would be more than a year since I would be able to see my daughter I decided to send her a gift from Crate and Barrel. What would say " love from home" better than a familiar Crate and Barrel box delivered to her Utah mountain address? The pandemic had just settled in and we started to realize with my fragilesystem courtesy of chemo, a visit either way for her birthday or really the rest of the year would be impossible. So with that reality setting in, I pondered what to send?? While flipping through a Crate and Barrel catalogue I found it; the perfect gift!! So with that reality setting in, I pondered what to send?? While flipping through a Crate and Barrel catalogue I found it; the perfect gift!! Sleepovers at her beloved Granmum's when my daughter was a little one always included a chance to separate eggs and froth them to a peak, mix, blend, fold and stir ingredients, all great jobs for little hands while making waffles. A waffle iron for her own kitchen seemed to be the perfect gift for my daughter who often reminisced about waffles with Granmum or made at home. We ordered and sent this Cuisinart one which we hear makes "the best waffles, as good as Granmum's" . They are crisp, golden, and delicious and the Cuisinart waffle iron is easy to use and dependable. My mountain woman makes the batter before her morning run or bike and comes home to treat herself, her beau and friends to perfect waffles!
I like the feature that allows you to set how long the waffles cook and the light that pops on when the waffle is done. So far everything has been working great. If I had anything to complain about it would be that this waffle iron is very large. I can go through a double batch of batter making two and a quarter waffles. Since I use pure Vermont maple syrup I wonāt complain š
I have always had a Belgian Waffle maker while raising our three sons. One of their favorite things was having sleep overs and the next morning enjoying Belgian Waffles with warm syrup, lots of fresh fruit and whip cream on top! I recently replaced the original machine with this new one and am very pleased with it! I look forward to our family enjoying Belgian Waffles again especially with the grandchildren!
Like the standup storage feature and quality of product. Easy to operate but would have like to have a simple on/off switch while unit is plugged in and a retractable electrical code. I did find it unusual that there was no "beep" sound once waffle was done. You had to be careful to watch for the light to turn from Red to Green when desired degree of firmness is reached.
This makes great waffles. But look for recipes online for crisp, Belgian waffles, and donāt use any mix that is too runny. We made that mistake, poured it āfrom the centerā as instructed in the materials that came with the appliance. Result was thinking that the waffles only cooked on one side! Our mistake (and their manualās). You must have a light, yet thick enough batter to be crisp and also touch fully to the upper plates. We nearly returned it but are happy we didnāt.
After having and using it for a month, I have come to like this waffle maker, but with some differences that are not good. Number one, is that the machine can only be turned on or off, by plugging it in, pulling it out. Short of not having a toggle switch or a rocker switch, it just seems a little strange to have to do that each and every time. nd of course you will have to be a little careful on where you let the cord lay. Number two, is the slider bar to determine the lightness or darkness of said waffles. It will take some trail attempts to get it where you like it, and the slider has no stops or clicks to let you keep it at that certain spot. The plates heat up within minutes, maybe two. The plates clean up really nice, and quick. The plates clean up really nice, and quick. You will have to have trial runs to see how well the batter fills out the plate(s), to understand the fullness of the waffle and how easy or hard they are to remove from the plate. I have used a strong plastic fork, but even then, I had to put a finger to help left them off the plate, but that may be because of the kind of batter I am using. It's a 4 slice waffle maker, of which each one is 4.5 inches square. The machine is a little on the heavy side. I hope to get a lot of use from it, over the years.
This was a replacement for what looked like the same owned model. New version does not have the audio alert to notify when iron is hot nor when the waffle is finished. Unfortunately, that means you must stand there and watch for the green light. Also, the top side of the waffle does not brown like the bottom side.
