..upgraded from Nespresso Vertuo.....highly satisfied.

ok, so i had the old school Nespresso. It did the job, but after 4yrs became tired. The stronger capsules couldn't be used as the water pressure was a problem. Serviced it, worked for a few weeks, and same problem. Recommendation was as it was old replace it. Fair enough. Purchased the Vertuo and initially was a good investment. Then, could not find the same 'flavour' capsules as the old one. In the end.....Vertuo pushed out. After much research, this Delonghi had the best reviews. So purchased, and apart from the grinder sound, am not disappointed. Yes it is larger than most, but when it does the bean to cup, milky drinks, etc, etc. All in all...a sound investment.

Love this machine. Makes great coffee, better than the $5-8 coffee at the shops around town. Easy to operate and clean. Only problem is longevity. First one lasted about 2 years. Last one about 6 years. For a $900 coffeemaker, would like more durability. However, didn’t have to think long about replacing it with the same model when DeLonghi took pity on me and gave me a new one at about $200 off. However, having great coffee at the touch of a button every day and saving about $10,000 over buying one coffee/day at Starbucks over 6 years is a convenience and seems like a bargain even after replacing the machine at about $700.

It has been in frequent use ever since!

Easy to use, no fuss, fresh ground coffee- LOVE IT
13 April 2023

I LOVE this machine. Very slim lined sleek design and fits in well in my small kitchen. First time coffee machine owner. So easy to set up and use. Finally a decent coffee that is freshly ground and not that weak diluted instant muck :) Every time I walk past the coffee machine the aroma of fresh ground coffee beans hits me. How can I resist a fresh cup :) There is an option in the top where you can use either coffee beans or instant coffee - the instant coffee container is extremely small and takes only 1 coffee scoop and I will probably never use that now that I have used coffee beans. Also it is worth noting that the dial on the front can be turned to allow stronger coffee - I turn mine to strongest (right). I use Grinders Crema brand from Woolworths and buy it ... MoreI LOVE this machine. Very slim lined sleek design and fits in well in my small kitchen. First time coffee machine owner. Good coffee but cranky machine
17 November 2022

We have had this machine a little over a month. I gave it three stars because it CAN make good coffee, and we love being able to froth milk and make "fancy coffees." The temperature is nice and hot, and the option to heat the mug with hot water is nice. However, for $800, the machine should know when it's low enough on water that it can't complete the requested action. Even a cheap Keurig won't start a cup of coffee if there isn't enough water in the well to do so. We have wasted A LOT of beans/cups of coffee because of this. It will start making a cup, and then just stop midway, leaving you with an unfinished coffee that tastes awful. It grinds the beans and gets started just fine, then stops midway and flashes the low water indicator, causing you to have to dump ... MoreWe have had this machine a little over a month. It will start making a cup, and then just stop midway, leaving you with an unfinished coffee that tastes awful. It grinds the beans and gets started just fine, then stops midway and flashes the low water indicator, causing you to have to dump the coffee, add water, and start over. The solution to this is to just fill the reservoir every time we need coffee, but that is tedious. I can't fathom that our piece of crap Keurig is smarter than this machine. The worst feature of this machine is that it will scald you if the water completely runs out. We have already had to descale it once. We followed all the directions in the manual. Then after restarting it, we tried to use the cup warmer, and the machine made a TERRIBLE noise until it started spitting droplets of hot water everywhere. (The spout is clean, it's not clogged.)The reason for my review is that, just now, the coffee maker stopped midway AGAIN, even though it sure appeared there was enough water in the reservoir to make a measly 2/3 cup of coffee. I rinsed out the reservoir to make sure the water level indicator was functioning and floating as it should, then when I tried to use the cup warmer, I was again treated to the machine making an unholy racket and no water coming out. After about 20 seconds, it started spraying droplets of scalding water, which feels just swell when they hit the tender skin between your fingers. It's a nice slim size and a sleek-looking machine that will make a decent cup of espresso and froth milk perfectly, but that's only when it feels like playing nice. Overall, this machine is just average, and three stars may be being generous at this point.

Pros: Once set up the machine is very easy to use. Consistent cups of coffee produced at literally "the touch of a button" and it is quite easy to alter the main settings to vary the taste to your preferences. The steam function makes it easy to add hot milk or to warm up a poured cup.Cons: The manual is out of date and supplemented by extra information sheets. This makes it hard to be sure the initial set up is correct or to make changes to some of the more obscure settings, eg water temperature, cup volume. The makers should focus on a new version of the manual that brings everything together, even if only as a download. It is possible to select a cup and the machine run out of water before it is complete. There ought to be a warning system to help the user prevent this.It is possible for the waste box for used coffee to become overfull but still operate. There is a warning light but it would be sensible to prevent overfilling where it might damage the machine. The cleaning instructions are sketchy and inadequate. This part of the manual should be rewritten in a detailed way so the new user understands the areas that need to be examined and how each might best be cleaned.

We’ve been using this few weeks now, tried different beans. Like the output now but my setting is to maximum fine grind with Verona Beans. It just didn’t taste agreeable with a medium grind. Have tried pike, blonde, and settled on Verona whole beans from Starbucks. Milk frother is ok, a little too loud for me, and takes me 3-4 minutes to get milk extra hot, and therefore I continue to use my electric frother or microwave. Best double glass 15 oz short mugs from are from epare (if you plan of steaming milk and pouring espresso directly into latte mug). Overall we got this for $700 on a Black Friday sale, can’t speak to its longevity, but the latte quality is excellent for the price and the refill and cleaning process seems easy so far.

Very happy with it, highly recommended

Bought this to replace an older version of the same. The previous one lasted 10+ years and was still working but with some minor water leak issues. I'm hoping the new one will be as reliable. No problems in the first few weeks! There have been a few improvements I've noticed over the earlier model fixing minor annoyances I had with it. Water tank and grounds container are more sturdy. Better water tank seal. Brew unit easier to remove and clean. Steam valve easier to operate and vents pressure/drains water when turned off. Less coffe ground mess inside due to different design. I'm less happy with the steam nozzle moving to the left side but guess I will get used to that. Also the tray is smaller so you need to hold the milk jug while frothing. I used to sit it on a small upside-down bowl on the tray (I'll probably make a stand to fix that).Read the manual, take the time to program the settings. I found setting the grind 1 notch off finest, coffee dial to max, temp setting 3 gave the best results for latte/cappuccino. Don't bother trying to make 2 cups at once unless you're happy with a very small shot. Throw away the first few coffees before drinking one.

Worth the price!
17 December 2022

After using a pod machine for the past 3 years, we decided it was time for an upgrade and boy oh boy is this an upgrade! It's easy to set up and use, and after not much trial and error we're getting consistently delicious coffees. We don't use the milk steamer function very often but it's also nice and easy to use. It runs a pre- and post-coffee cleaning cycle meaning we shouldn't have to descale it as often to keep getting great coffees. It even tells you when something needs your attention e.g. low water, full coffee ginds, etc. It's compact enough for a normal sized kitchen and looks really sleek. The smell of fresh ground, fresh made coffee wafts through our house every morning now!

the best coffee

All the reviews I've read were pretty positive, but I like to keep my expectations a little realistic. I didn't really know what to expect from this machine. Set up took me about 15 minutes and, of course, I brewed a coffee right away. First one was meh, but I didn't really read through the user guide or anything. So after I did, I brewed another and the coffee started tasting really, really good. It took me about maybe 10 cups of coffee to figure out exactly how I like my coffee brew settings. Now, every cup is pretty darn amazing! I finally put the keurig away as it's no longer needed. Taste wise - the coffee is excellent. But that'll depend on the coffee beans that you use. If you like hot coffee, you'll want to go through the user guide to set the water settings to "hottest" - not hard to do. The best thing I like about the machine is that you can have one type of coffee been in the machine (for fresh grinds), but you can have a different kind of freshly ground coffee and brew that using the little slot at the top of the machine. So oftentimes I make a "half caff" coffee with ease. For the price, you're getting a top notch coffee maker. I, myself, was hesitant at spending 500$+ for a machine, but I totally think it's worth it. Neverhad a coffee maker make such excellent coffee. If you're like me and live on cccccoffee, get this already!
