I use this monitor as the second monitor in a two monitor set up. It is a quality monitor. Four USB ports, not including the USB port used to attach the monitor to the computer. I like the way the USB ports are arranged. Two are near the other cables and are hard to reach but that is ok because I use those to permanently attach external USB devices. Two are at the bottom of the screen. In one I have a dongle for my high-end printer software and the other has my wireless mouse receiver. It has one DisplayPort, one HDMI port and one VGA port for those still using older technology. But if I were going to connect via VGA, I would get a less expensive monitor. There is no DVI port. My one complaint is the On/Off button is located on the back. Certain family members get their fingerprints on the screen while trying to find the On/Off button. The button, while on the back, is directly above the on light (which is in the front) so that can make it easier for people to find the button if they can remember this hint. Assembly was not difficult and it is height and tilt adjustable, which is important to me.

This USB-C hub monitor gets some clutter off the desk. It works as advertised. It's a USB-C dock with ethernet and plenty of USB 3.0 ports. Daisy chaining to another monitor with display port works great. Picture is great. Some drawbacks, there are no extra USB-C ports on the display. The only USB-C port is for the docking cable. All the USB 3.0 ports are on the back and underneath. An extra USB-C and USB 3.0 port on the side chassis for easy access would nice. In my experience, waking your laptop when docked doesn't work and there is no dedicated power button to turn on your docked laptop. It is inconvenient to open and quickly close your laptop when using multiple external displays and limited on space. End users may also not understand this.

This is one of the best monitor I have used in the recent while. It is not just a monitor but also a hub and a laptop charger baked into one. My webcam, headphone, mouse and keyboard dongle are all connected directly to the monitor. What's more useful is that I use the USB-C connection to not only connect to my laptop (to extend the display) but also charge the laptop using the same wire and within same connection. It is just amazing and just works. The whole setup is just one wire connection and it works like a charm. There is so less clutter. I was also able to remove the need of a power extension with this monitor as well. The picture quality and the dynamic picture mode has also been working really well for me. I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a neat and practical work from home setup. This purchase is worth every penny!

First impressions: Well built, nice esthetics, attractive and functional materials. Operational: Intuitive interface and button placement. Connector placement allows for easy access. Connector mating feels solid and reliable. Factory settings provide a high-quality image that (IMHO) do not need tweeking. Screen is responsive, colors are vibrant, contrast ratio provides clear delineation, improving comfortable viewing time. Docking features work first time, out of the box. PowerDelivery at 90W is suitable to maintain battery levels for even our most power hungry laptops. Daisy Chain feature works well.
The Dell P222H monitor is a good utility monitor but not one I can recommend for any power user. In my world it is a great monitor for systems seldom accessed or used. It doesn't have the "real estate" needed to multi-task at the level I do. I normally have 3-4 full browser windows open on one 4K, 2 full desktops handled my RDC client on another 4k , 16 or so terminal panes running on my laptop display, and finally all my chat / messaging open on the last 4k. Though even with that said the following is true... 1. viewable screen is sharp and clear 2. good port selection for connecting multiple display technologies 3. nice addition of the USB port hub on the monitor Biggest usability complaint about the monitor is that usb ports on the bottom of the monitor are ... MoreThe Dell P222H monitor is a good utility monitor but not one I can recommend for any power user. In general for utility usage it is a great monitor but not one I could recommend these days for most users, even if that have multiple (2 or more) up in tandem.
While it is a great monitor it didn't fit our needs. We were hoping to use this as an alternate solution to our other low availability Dell Ultrasharp 24" monitors. However, the benefits of the higher resolution weren't as beneficial when paired with the loss of screen size. Part of this could have been preempted if I had noticed the 23.8" screen size mentioned in the description. However, I missed that and the "Dell 24 Monitor" title paired with the "P2423D" model name was very misleading in expecting this to be a 24" monitor. While you think that .2" isn't much. It is on the diagonal and results in almost an inch lost to the height of the monitor. This entire monitor bezel and all can fit within the screen space of our current Ultrasharp 24". It is on the diagonal and results in almost an inch lost to the height of the monitor. This entire monitor bezel and all can fit within the screen space of our current Ultrasharp 24". Unboxing and setting up the monitor I instantly felt this loss in size. Placing the monitor next to our current 24" and the difference is stark. For those that are not worried about hitting a true 24" size then I can definitely recommend this monitor. It looks great and functions great with a crisp and clear display. Though do be aware that if you are coming from the Ultrasharp line of monitors, moving to the Professional line, expect differences in brightness/contrast/color/saturation. Individually the monitor looks great, but when side by side with our current Ultrasharp monitor the whites look more like greys and other colors don't pop nearly as nicely on the Ultrasharp. Though that was an expectation going into this as those are the selling points of getting an Ultrasharp panel. Pros: -Well made minimal design is attractive while not being too in your face about it. Great for fading into the background and letting you get your work done. The removal of the Dell branding from the front of the monitor makes for a sleek black finish that is unmarred by company logos. -While on the smaller side of my preference, the QuadHD resolution definitely gives back in the screen real estate space. -Has all the basic features needed for a quality daily driver monitor. Cons: -Not a true 24" monitor, while stated in the description, the name and model number can be misleading to allow you to assume that this is actually 24". The loss of that .2" diagonal is stark if used to full 24" or using it next to an actual 24". -Colors and brightness are not up to par with Ultrasharp monitors, but to be honest that was not a selling point. You will still get a great experience from this monitor and if those features are important then there is the Ultrasharp line for you.
These monitors are great. Now for less than the cost of a docking station you get a monitor and a docking station in one. I have used several of these and it just makes for a cleaner desk setup to have one of these and one of the same series but not usb C next to it. One less power cord and no bulky docking station box. Picture quality is up to the high standards of all Dell monitors we have purchased. Our new standard for dual monitors id a P2422HE and a P2422H next to each other. In one case I even used a Display port to HDMI converter to plug the P2422HE into a wall mounted Display panel that only had HDMI inputs. Only drawback from docking station is the lack of light in the USBC cable showing power.
Product came fully in boxes. Came safe, undamaged, packaged in a way that was secure. Products work well, no issues or signs of wear and tear. HOWEVER, putting it together was harder than expected. The wires all went in, self explanatory. But how do the monitors connect? Well, i found out there are IN and OUT ports for the port wires on the monitors. There is no indicator of which one it is on the monitor, no instructions telling you which one to plug it in to with the packaging. Only place i found instructions was after some searching deep in the catacombs of the Dell website, I found a manual. Which told me there were in and out ports and which ones to line up. I am a 26 year old generally pretty good with technology but I was beyond frustrated not understanding ... MoreProduct came fully in boxes. Came safe, undamaged, packaged in a way that was secure. Very easy to setup right out of the box. Very consistent backlighting across this relatively large screen. I notice most that the bezel is very narrow, making the screen seem even bigger than it already is. The controls, which you don't use much anyway, are behind the screen and you operate them "blind" with your right hand. Ergonomically this works very well, and the on screen menu that pops up as soon as you touch the button makes it very easy to navigate - I really like this style of control, which I've never seen before. My only disappointment is that the pedestal is not totally stable, so the monitor wobbles just a little if I bump my desk. Not a big deal. Love this monitor.
short summary: works fine once you get it set up, getting it set up is a pain in the neck compared to older monitors in the same family. The monitor works generally well with multiple os once set up, so far have used it in my office with PC, Mac, and Ubuntu. If I ignore initial setup, it might have gotten a 5 star rating, three things however lower its rating during initial setup so badly I was nearly going to give it 3 stars. 1) if the monitor does not detect USB-C at first, most of the menus are locked out. To get it to work with some OS I had to connect it to a PC first, set some of the settings like refresh rate, then connect it to the computer I actually want to use it on. Older Dell monitors from the same family had more buttons that allowed me to get to menus even when inputs are not detected. To get some older computers or non-pc computers to detect this monitor, you cannot rely on automatic settings. 2) The settings joystick. Dell, if you are reading this review, get rid of the joystick and go back to multiple buttons. The joystick constantly sticks and the rapidly goes through multiple options. I hate having to go through multiple menus, multiple times for what used to be a single button push. 3) sleep mode. There needs to be a better way to disable it. Monitor does not wake up when computer it is attached to goes to sleep. Joystick is useless. Older monitors at worse allowed you to wake by touching power button. This model requires you to unplug the power cable just to wake it up sometimes.
