I disabled the monitor’s sleep feature to see if that might make a difference and it did not.Dell’s website stated that if purchased at Best Buy, the monitor would need top be brought back there. As I did not purchase any type of extended warranty service, the Ocala, Florida Geek Squad (who were extremely helpful, by the way) wasn’t able to assist me directly, but they did provide me information for how to get in contact with Dell.I contacted Dell's customer service department via their chat feature. I described the screen darkness issues to the technician; as I use the monitor with both a Mac and a PC and he recommended that a Windows driver and Mac firmware update be downloaded and installed on the appropriate computers. After the firmware and Windows driver were installed, I was still experiencing the same issues. I went as far as changing how the Mac and the PC were hooked up to the monitor to see if that would make any difference, and it did not. I reached back out to tech-support, and informed them that everything has been installed but I was still experiencing the same issues. Tech-support told me that I would need to need to contact Mac support because the monitor was working properly. I’m not exactly sure how they came to that conclusion but the Dell monitor continues to not work properly.I’m pretty sure that the issue is with the Dell monitor itself; I have an older LG monitor which was going to be replaced by the Dell. On a few occasions when this has occurred, I’ve immediately disconnected everything from the the Dell monitor and hooked it up to my old LG monitor. The LG monitor works fine… no irregularities with the picture.

I love the real state of the screen, it’s bigger than I imagined. I use it for coding websites, and it allows me to have up to four programs opened, coding editor, Firefox, slack and my terminal. It’s much better than constantly switching between them in my 24 inch iMac. I have found myself being more productive. The only thing that I miss is probably having a bit of curvature. Due to the large size of the monitor, when you look at text at the edges of the screen, it’s not so easy to read, because you’re looking at it at an angle. The picture is nice and clear being a 4K monitor. The pixel density compared to my M1 iMac though, is not as defined, but Mac displays are notoriously good for pixel density and much more expensive. It came nicely packaged and it was ... MoreI love the real state of the screen, it’s bigger than I imagined. This is a fantastic large IPS monitor. The 43” size allows you to take advantage of the full 4k resolution at 100% scaling. Text is clear and crisp! And even if you partition the screen into 4x 1080p segments, it’s still pretty good! The monitor settings can be controlled using Dell Display Manager app,as well as the monitor on-screen display itself. One improvement for desktop usage would have been to add a curve, but the advantage of being flat is that you can sit back at the end of the day and watch movies/entertainment as well, essentially replacing a TV (minus the TV tuner). One other downside is that it’s only 60Hz refresh rate, which is pretty low for 2023 standards (so just about acceptable for gaming, depending on your generation). Hopefully it will increase in future, but for now its competitors with higher refresh rates (e.g. gaming monitors), don’t do such a great job of productivity/text clarity. It’s also a fantastic bargain, with the recent further price drop, bringing it around 2/3 the price of its successor that was recently released (U4323QE).The new U4323QE model also boasts built-in speakers (pretty decent for movies/TV), built-in KVM, faster USB ports (USB 3Gen2) and a USB-Ethernet port. But if you don’t need those extra bells and whistles, you can save a lot of money here with the U4320Q (as the panel/screen is essentially the same).
I give the Dell U4320Q monitor 5 STARS. I have been using my new Dell UltraSharp 43 4K USB C Monitor U4320Q for over a week now. I am using the U4320Q up to 10+ hours a day. The design and display-quality of this Dell monitor are brilliant. I am a futures trader. I simultaneously watch multiple financial markets. Currently I simultaneously display 30+ charts, plus an inset screen showing live cable-TV financial programming. The effective arrangement of my “trading-screen” is critical to my trading-approach. I watch the context and detail of often volatile daily price-action. I have bought successively larger monitors to suit my trading-approach. My last was a 32 (diagonal) inch monitor. I watch the context and detail of often volatile daily price-action. I have bought successively larger monitors to suit my trading-approach. My last was a 32 (diagonal) inch monitor. Even at 32 inches, I had to make trade-offs in terms of what I displayed. I began looking at 49-inch ultra-wide monitors. I immediately ran into the problem of excellent screen-width (horizontal size) compromised by relatively narrow (vertical size) height. Then I came across the U4320Q. This Dell measures 43-inches diagonally; 37.05 inches horizontally, and 20.84 inches vertically. THE DELL U4320Q IS A FLAT-SCREEN MONITOR. The screen is NOT curved. I’m good with that. The monitor is well-named. The display is UltraSharp for my needs. You can, of course, use the “Display Setting” function of your Windows PC to adjust the “Scale” of a monitor. Dell Premium Support in a Remote Assist Session reminded me how to adjust the Scale. When I turned my new U4320Q on for the first time, all my desktop icons were “fuzzy huge”. I was shocked. The size meant I could display very little, to my liking. The text was fuzzy huge. My mind screamed, “What is the point of a huge screen area with fuzzy huge charts-and-text?” Dell Premium Support calmly brought me back to earth. I have a 1-year subscription to Dell Premium Support. Abbie, my Dell DPS remote technician / expert, showed me how to set the scale to 100%. At a scale of 100% my effective display area generously accommodates all 30+ of my charts. The text is small but crisply readable. My charts are crisply readable. My eyes have adjusted. The result is brilliant. The effective display area at a scale of 100% is a quantum improvement for me. THIS IS A BRILLIANT TRADING-SCREEN MONITOR. The U4320Q is capable of vastly more than I need right now in terms of orchestrating my display needs. Maybe I will use that capability in the future. For now, I am astonished at how this screen serves what I wanted to achieve, and how it has challenged me to expand, evolve how I arrange my trading-screen. The people who are Dell Premium Support have been consistently terrific in helping me with my Dell products. NOTE: The manual for this monitor indicates that you set up the monitor by connecting the supplied HDMI cable, DP cable, and USB C cable. No. I just have the one monitor serving one source (my PC). I just need to connect the DP cable and the USB C cable. When I first powered up my U4320Q, with all three cables attached, the screen was blank, black. That was a shock. During my call to Dell Premium Support, Abbie (my DPS technician / expert) had me reconnect my previous monitor. He then remotely took control of my PC. Then I disconnected my old monitor and reconnected the new monitor with just the DP cable and the USB C cable. Problem solved. Next, he solved the Scale issue to my liking and WOW! I WAS THRILLED BY THE DISPLAY. Yes, get this monitor if you want a quantum improvement. I no longer want a curved 49-inch monitor; too narrow in the vertical dimension. I like my 37.05 inch by 20.84 inch viewing area. You can tilt (angle) the U4320Q backwards. You can tilt (angle) it forwards. The base is heavy. The screen stem pivots in the base. You can easily, by lightly gripping the left and right edge of the U4320Q, smoothly rotate the screen toward the left or right. This jumbo Dell flat-screen is a 5-STAR monitor. Thank you, Dell. Thank you, Abbie.
This is my second 43in screen from Dell, and I totally like to use it as a replacement of 4 FullHD screens on my workstation. Perfect colors and contrast for work with design assets, like you would expect from any Dell monitor. I love that it has built-in speakers. Sound quality is more than enough for work tasks, and it is definitely better than in S2721QS I have. The only minus is a high chance of getting broken pixels with this huge 4K screens. Luckily all Dell monitors has built-in tests that can be run without connecting monitor to PC. BTW I decided to keep this particular monitor, because I got it with great discount, and all spotted dead pixels are located really close to the corners, and noticeable only during test.
I bought this monitor to be used as a monitor. The built-in audio features were a bonus that had no impact on my purchase decision. I will review both aspect separately below, starting with the primary function as a monitor. This is a large (42.5) 4K monitor that delivers precisely the level of quality you would expect and demand. I can easily tile 4-6 applications, according to my needs, having sufficient room to read and process all the information I need. Despite being a large monitor, the weight is reasonable and the desk space it occupies is perfectly acceptable. From the point of view as a monitor - it delivers precisely on all counts. Are you a photo or video professional? The color space is NOT reliable or accurate enough. (But it also does not claim to be. Therefore, I will not belabor this aspect further.)The built-in audio is ... okay. I find myself choosing between a very flat and bass-less audio profile or a colorful and richer audio profile with far too much reverb. The latter is pleasant enough for consuming YouTube videos or music on Spotify, but it leaves a lot to desire when you are used to professional audio equipment. Even my TV sound bar delivers far superior sound.I still give the monitor 4 stars, because the video quality and connection flexibility is amazing, while the audio is just okay.
Works right out of the box with Windows 11 automatically detecting and installing required driver. Windows sets scaling to 300%, which I change to 200% as that seems better to me. Monitor is huge. Maybe a bit big, but maybe I'll get used to it as many have commented before. Time will tell. Text is certainly sharp enough for me, and this was my only real concern before purchase. This U4320Q is good for office work, reading and creating documents, which is essentially my use case. Can't comment on watching movies, as I've only looked at a few youtube vids which seemed a bit saturated, but I haven't made any adjustments to the monitor settings to see what's good for video. Can't comment on watching movies, as I've only looked at a few youtube vids which seemed a bit saturated, but I haven't made any adjustments to the monitor settings to see what's good for video. Web browsing and text reading are perfectly fine right out the box with no adjustments needed, at least on Windows 11 Pro.
This monitor is great for having multiple windows up at once. Makes work very productive. Colors seem accurate, and sharpness is decent too. Angles are ok; probably not the best, but as long as you use the monitor straight on as intended they are ok. Connectivity is good, although I wish it did have an ethernet port to make this a proper USB-C hub monitor. The control interface is antiquated, using a bunch of little, hard to identify buttons on the bottom rather than a more modern joystick. The speakers are adequate, but for any good sound you should use external speakers. Overall, this is a solid, utilitarian pick, as long as you can get it with a discount.
I love this monitor. It is enormous. Excessively so. And that is something I really appreciate. The DDPM to help effectively utilize this monitor is welcome, and seems quite functional even if slightly clunky visually. Love being able to have, various window sizes to easily snap into. For the first time, I feel like I can use 4k effectively, and have enough real-estate to not even need a second monitor. Overall rating is: Go ahead and buy this!I'm deducting one star because there are a few things that could be done to make it even better... but none of these are really reasons not to buy this.1) more ports... There is only 1 USB-C port upstream (and another downstream), and only 3 USB-A ports... For a monitor that has a built in KVM, I'd like to be able to, more ... MoreI love this monitor. For a monitor that has a built in KVM, I'd like to be able to, more easily, connect to multiple computers, and have more accessories "permanently" attached.2) More stability... It is huge, and the OSD controls are all the way out at the corner... which means pushing on them causes the monitor to wobble. (or move those controls to the center of the bottom edge where it is more stable)3) It is large enough that you can start getting slightly degraded viewing angles at the edges.4) Dell's pricing practices annoy me... I'm pretty sure I've never seen this monitor listed for MSRP... which means that is just a made up number... Is anyone still fooled by those weak mind games?
