Denon AVR-X2800H 7.2 Channel 8K AV Receiver

I recently upgraded my old and dying AV Receiver with the tempting offer from Hifimart on the Denon AVR-X2800H AV Receiver and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The features on the receiver are impressive, especially the HEOS® built-in which allows me to stream music from various sources. The 7.2 channels provide a fully enveloping 3D audio experience, amazing picture quality and a lag-free gaming experience. The user interface is easy to navigate, making it simple to adjust settings or change between sources. Overall, the Denon AVR-X2800H is a high-quality AV receiver that provides an exceptional home theatre experience.

Another Great Denon Product

Purchased this to go with our new 4K TV and Panasonic DP-UB820-K 4K DVD. It works with the TV, DVD and Cable great but the Sony TV does like to dominate turning when the receiver turns on and off.This is our 3rd Denon receiver and it is simply great. Sound is perfect whether streaming or watching a 4K movie (where it really excels). Setup is easy and the full screen program the implemented makes it much easier to navigate through the menus.We are using this in Dolby Atmos with 5.1 + 2 Atmos set-tops in a medium sized family room off of the kitchen so some compromises in speaker placement was needed. The X2800H took on this task with excellent results.This is a great receiver, cost is reasonable and features will cover you for years to come.

Beautiful Quality

From the moment I turned my new Denon AVR 2800 on, the set up was intuitive, the visual aids most welcome and then came the sounds…. WowI had the Denon AVR 2000 previously, but the 2800 has so much more clarity in the delivery.I deliberate getting smart speakers instead, I wasn’t sure what to do so I spoke with the Richer Sounds store in Maidstone to ask for their professional opinion.I’m so glad that I did as they explained the differences to the sounds, checked what I used the system for and was recommended an upgraded Denon.I’m so glad that I listened to their advice and I couldn’t be happier with my new amp.The depth of the sounds immerse me in the film; the music stranger was also like s live lounge.

Excellent piece of kit

I had searched the market for some time for a receiver that combined all the features I wanted - to be able to connect my smart TV, phono, two set-top boxes, a blue-ray DVD and yes, even a VHS(!), with a DAB tuner and surround sound outputs and this was the only thing I could find that did it all. It also has features not needed which I won't review. I have linked it to a pair of refurbished Mission 737 speakers with Kenwood surround sound speakers. The sound is crystal clear and I'm hearing many of my CDs (of various genres) as if for the first time. Likewise with the DAB tuner. Knocks it out The Park!

We needed advice and Jay was there to help. We chose the Dali as our Woofer and went with a classic B&W Centre. We literally had about a ten minute window but the helpful staff got the package together, Jay finalised the Deal and we were off Done and Dusted as only Richer Sounds can.The on board Denon made everything Super easy to set up and place the speakers. The Dude in there was also very helpful.(The only downside about the Plymouth store was forgetting about the VIP Silver pack promo with the Denon Amp due to us in a rush, I phoned a few days later but was told because I asked for a discount it negated the Silver pack.)The Set Up is Great. the sound is awesome and it makes our viewing easier having All the HDMIs and Projector connected now, not having to scramble behind the unit is a god send and it has 4K and 8K up scaling so future proofed for some time.Oh John Wick4 at the Imax was rather good too!

Masterful control hub.

Very easy to install with a magnificent feature set. The only thing missing is the lack of gold-plated speaker terminals.DAB module is a must for me when listening to Brighton and Hove Albion on the radio, internet radio is better but licensing restrictions prevent live match coverage on BBC Sussex. HEOS is fantastic picking up my music server catalogue on my Synology NAS drive and playback of Amazon Music HD. Sound and pictures are top drawer performance.Dolby ATMOS is game changing and my speakers are high quality but considered difficult to drive at 4 Ohms and low sensitivity at 84db. Sound levels in the viewing room are excellent with plenty in reserve. Modern interface, great sound and easy config

Bought this to replace an old non-4K and non-Atmos Yamaha AV which blew up. It's fantastic. Sound quality is great especially with the Audyssey room configuration that made a huge difference. Allowed me to also get a couple of Atmos top speakers too. The CEC functions work flawlessly and also supports all the capabilities on my Xbox Series X with 4k 120Hz gaming working fine with low latency, variable rate etc. User interface is also excellent now on TV screen. Can't test the 8k capabilities with my setup.

Superb

This is a really great upgrade!

I was having problems with my old receiver doing airplay and Bluetooth. It was a Yamaha. The new receiver sounds great even with a little difficulty with bass management. I have it all sorted out now. I had the geek squad do the installation and they were great. Lots of my blue rays sound much better. Apple Music runs great on this machine. Audyssey is very helpful for room correction. I wasn’t very satisfied with the bass so we had to make some adjustments. Other than that it’s a great product with plenty of features and power. I do recommend getting some sort of fan unit to keep it cool.

VERY impressed…

So my Marantz 8012 shorts out so I needed something to use with my Bowers and Wilkins 702 S2’s (with a B&W 5.2 home theater setup with a 75” QN90B Samsung tv) until I could figure out if my 8012 could be saved. I had NO IDEA what I wanted but settled on the X2800H because I thought I could maybe use it in the bedroom if it couldn’t push the B&W’s or if the 8012 couldn’t be repaired it would wouldn’t disappoint me into returnibg it abd dropping another 3K for an AVR. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! This thing is so easy to set up and sounds awesome. There is no drop in quality to my ears at all. If my 8012 get repaired, this is a solid back up I’ll use in the bedroom or whenever I’m messing around with different speakers.
