I had to cut up a very old 4'x3' attic fan in my daughters' house to get it out of there (only reasonable solution. I always wanted a steel saw so I bit the bullet and bought the dewalt bc I didn't think I could be up in the attic very long in a Texas Summer. This thing chewed it all up like a hot knife through butter, housing, support rods, etc. It is just freaking awesome.

I had ignored this metal cutting circular saw since it was introduced because I felt it was for light duty material, and that the blade was incapable of cutting thick metal. How wrong I was!!! This thing is amazing. Honestly, it is recommended for sheet metal and other light duty applications. Cutting unistrut, metal studs, conduit, and maybe rebar is the recommended range of material for this tool, but i can tell you it will do much more. I used it to dismantle an angle iron tow bar so I could salvage the metal. I have also used it to rip a rectangular tool bar that was 1/4"!!! With acetylene going for $68.00/ bottle, the second major job I did, paid for the saw. This review is based on inspection after purchase and not actually use. Has a beefy, well-balanced/constructed feel, nothing cheap about it. Somewhat hefty for such a compact unit. The rotating blade guard is all plastic which, after time with heavy use, may not hold up. That is only speculation on my part. Perhaps to reduce overall unit weight? Cutting blade appears fine and ready to work. Hope the saw works as well as my other cordless DeWalt tools. Pleased with purchase.

Works excellent. Cut 1/8 plate like butter. No kickback or binding. Very smooth.
Dewalt metal cutting circular saw seems like a quality tool. i have used this saw one time to cut some 1/8 inch sheet metal with ease. I use Dewalt tools daily for work. circular saw, stapler, nailers and many others. They are abused and used hard day after day and month after month and still perform. Thats something you cant say about most products nowadayds. I expect this saw will be no different which is why I will continue to buy Dewalt tools.
Just received this saw. Went with it based on reviews and the fact that I already use the 20V Max platform. I've only made a few cuts with it but those were on some channel with metal approx 1/8" thick and it cut through them like butter.
Bought this for a friend who does a lot of metal work and fabrication. He was really impressed with the way it worked and showed it to his brother and a neighbor. They were so impressed with the way it cut that they each ordered one for themselves. Great product. I’m buying one for my self in the near future.
Has been great help when cutting metal roofing . Just let the saw do the work and you will be pleased with the finished cut.
I'm very impressed with this saw. It doesn't have the power of a full size corded Milwaukee but that's expected. I've cut 1/8" sheet steel with it so far. Beats the heck out of a grinder with a cutting wheel.
Nice heavy duty saw. Easily cut thick roof panels, clean cut cut down on construction time. Overall very happy with purchase.
