After years of using cheap and crappy ice chests I decided to treat myself and purchase an ice chest that could hold temperature longer then 5 hours. I came across this ice chest and it was decently priced and everything I read about it led me to believe that this would fit perfectly in my arsenal of camping gear. We first took this on a 4 day long road trip and to my surprise we only had to buy a single 10 pound bag of ice for the entire trip. It kept meats at a safe temperature and more importantly kept our beer nice and frosty. If you are looking at this ice chest BUY IT it will not disappoint you.

I had a lot of hopes for this cooler, but it fell a bit short. I pre-iced it the night before my trip, but that didn't seem to make a difference. Weather wasn't too hot, 60's. But even with cooler temps, I had to keep reloading with ice. The only time it held ice well was when there was barely any food/drinks, and it was loaded to the top with ice in 40 degree weather. Another thing I noticed is that the drain plug would leak, no matter how tight I made it. Dometic did send me out a replacement plug, but I have yet to use it. I will be selling this cooler and buying a CFX3 25L for my next adventures.

The best icebox I’ve ever had! Great quality and colour. Shame the accessories are sold separately but make for great additions to the box.
I like the cooler design. It has a large basket, the rubber clasps are good, and I like the matte finish. It looks good, has a good seal, and I'm sure is very tough (there's an area on the cooler where the "bear proof" sticker should go, but I guess they didn't get the certification). There are a few drawbacks to consider however. The quality control isn't great--there were lots of dings and deep scratches on it when I got it, and the sticker is really crooked and wrinkled. It's definitely not as well insulated as the bigger brand, and at the time of writing this review you cannot purchase Dometic Patrol accessories in the US. All told, it's a box that keeps thing cold. I bought this a few weeks ago and had the chance to use it over a long weekend. Put the ice in on a Thursday morning, and half the ice was still in the cooler on Sunday when we were packing up to head home. 5/5 stars, highly recommend (way better value than YETI).
Quality constructed cooler that delivers solid results. Have gone on two overlanding trips recently and ice remained through all 4-days. Handles are very sturdy, color is cool, and seems to have a tad more space than other 35qts. My only knock against it the weight. Its considerably heavier than the competition and wish they had integrated a bottle opener into the cooler vs making it an extra accessory but overall very satisfied and will have this for years to come.
This cooler is overbuilt but not overpriced. My only complaint is that is heavy, but any comparable cooler would probably weigh as much. Wish I could have grabbed the orange color but it was out of stock
The best ice box, esky, chilly bin I have ever. Purchased for use in my boat as a fish box. On first trip out placed 2 x 1 kg blocks of ice for the day out, 5 hours later on a hot day the ice was still going strong, hardly melted. Bonus mesh basket to keep food and drink up and away from fish in the bottom. Best I have ever seen.
Bought this for the work truck. Solid construction and keeps cool for extended time on those hot days. Nice product, looks fantastic and should last.
