This is my first pair of dr martens. Its a +200 euro shoe, so I waited a long time to make the effort of buying them. When I received them I tried them on at my house and one foot felt looser than the other one, so I decided, since paying all of this money is a lot, it cant feel like that on my feet. I went to the Amsterdam store and I was received by a guy telling me that “you used the shoes already, they have a crease” and the only time I used them was when I tried them on in my house. Since they are my first pair from this brand (also mentioned this to them and the fact that they are expensive, not everyday shoes), I trusted their word, but mainly also because I didnt want to keep on discussing with people that were clearly NOT going to help me. Unfortunately I am sure I will not be purchasing any other dr martens shoes of the styles I wanted to have due to this behaviour I endured.

Got these as a birthday present and loving them so far! I'm usually a size 8 but got these in a 7 and they fit great, pretty comfortable from the get go too. I was worried about the width but they do not feel tight at all and don't rub my feet like other shoes usually do.Obviously they require a bit of breaking in, they are quite heavy and chunky so wear them around the house first before walking for miles in them. The padding around the ankle is amazing, one of the reasons I went for this style.Really enjoying stomping around in these beauties, would definitely recommend to people who want a lil extra bit of height. 10/10 would recommend!

I bought these shoes for work. I have worn both boots and shoes before and lasted a long time. They look fantastic and are well made. They were well packaged and arrived quickly. They fit my feet, width and length ways. But sadly the right shoe is giving me great discomfort. It is destroying my heel. It rubs me raw, giving me huge blisters. I have tried different thickness socks, and putting plasters on to protect my heel, but to no avail. So at the moment, I can only manage to wear them for around 20 minutes before they cause me great discomfort. I am glad I bought them in the sale because I can not wear them properly. I will persevere but disappointed as they otherwise fit perfectly .

I'm very much into foot health, so I typically prefer shoes where I can "spread" my toes in as opposed to having them cramped in a narrow toe-box (since this ruins foot health in the longevity). Although the 8053s are stunning and super versatile to wear for any occasion, the toe area is quite narrow. Like other leather Docs, they require some breaking in. However, even after wearing them for consecutive days in a row, with thick socks, they still feel a bit narrow. I should also mention that I have a pair of 1490 Virginia boots that I've had for exactly 6 years (with lots of wear) and to this day they are still stiff. I wish Doc would make wide-fit shoes! In regards to sizing, I am a true size 7 in women's, but I got a size 6 and it was the right choice. Sometimes the friction also hurts my ankle. I'd say it runs large because usually a size 6 shoe wouldn't fit me at all, but Doc sizes typically run large since they do not offer half sizes. Although the shoe comes off a little when I'm walking, my ultimate issue is the width of the shoe, which is too narrow.As for the overall look, they are gorgeous. Leather is perfectly shiny but not overpowering. The platforms add a very nice touch and they are not hard to walk in. These are my first pair of platforms and I was worried it would be hard to walk in considering the height and stiffness of the shoe, but they're actually alright. I would not wear these in situations where a lot of walking is required, like during travel, but I'd wear these for more sedentary occasions like going out for lunch.
I love everything about these shoes: the look of the leather, the sole, the laces and all the little details.I read online that they run big, this is not my experience. I have all my other pairs of DM’s in a size 41 so I ordered these in 41 as well and they were a little tight if anything. My feet are quite wide, and I found these very narrow. After breaking them in a little they have widened so it’s not a problem anymore, but it did surprise me at first.
This shoe is beautiful in person and of amazing quality! I have gotten so many compliments on them. The only con is the weird sizing. I'm usually an 8.5 women's or 39 EUR, and I ordered an 8, and they were way too big. I sized down to a 7 and while they didn't slip off they were too tight in the toe area. I stretched them with a $15 Amazon device and broke them in, and they now fit perfectly!

These shoes are fantastic and have quickly become my go-to pair for the fall. The way the leather wears is beautiful. I do wish the toe box had something to break it up a bit, but I knew the design when I ordered them, and this was the closest I could find to what I wanted.The chonky platforms are great and pair well with practically anything. Personally, I love wearing them with baggier or flare jeans.For sizing, I found these to be consistent with other Dr. Martens. I typically size down one size compared to most shoe brands and did the same here, which worked perfectly.
i usually wear a 8.5 in other shoes depending on where i go so i got an 8 a while ago thinking that would be fine but they were wayyy to floppy. with these i got a 7 and these fit a lot (!!!) better. to break them in , i wore them to work every day for a week and i wore two pairs of socks that whole week. now i wear them to work most days and they feel fine. i will say, my right pinky toe will rub against the shoe after i wear them for a while (at least a few hours) but i think i just have a crazy pinky toe bc it’s just the one side. for size reference , my feet are built pretty narrow and i wear a 8.5 women’s in converse and a 8.5 women’s in vans. i got womens 7 in my docs.
ive had these for about two weeks and i really like the look of this shoe. they are comfortable to break in, they are stiff but not unmanageable like the jadon boots were for me. the platform is perfect and i find that you can dress these up or down. they are low cut and great for showing off cute socks. they have lightened in color from wear but i havent conditioned the leather yet. very satisfied with this purchase
