The assembly directions are difficult to follow. I do like that it has different caps so it can have one stream, 2 streams...up to 5 streams. It does have filters, replaceable filters. It does not include information for how often or where to get replacements. The streams do not extend very far from the center tower and the moat is narrow. It took my husband a little over 30 minutes to set this up. Which was extremely surprising as I expected this to be a super fast setup that would mostly be intuitive however, we had to use the instructions. So save yourself some time and read the instructions thoroughly. We originally set up the fountain to have 6 flowing streams however our dog is big scaredy cat and he would not go near it. Which was disappointing because the fountain looked beautiful with 6 streams. So we had to change it to one stream and turn the fountain so that the stream was not visible. It took about half a day but our dog finally got used to it. Once he did get used to it we noticed an increase in his water consumption. Which is great! So I really love this water fountain. It was very easy to assemble with clear cut instructions. It is bigger than I thought it would be but that’s ok. I have two pups and two cats so I thought this would be perfect for them. Sadly though they haven’t drank any water from the fountain. I’ve had two of these over a 12 year period and both rusted up pretty quickly despite being washed weekly.These are very time consuming to clean properly and it’s a total hassle to explain this to someone who is cleaning your place. They basically look at you like you are the devil. The second one I bought, the motor died after about two months. The second motor is working fine about 2 years in.Other parts break easily and it isn’t so user friendly lining up the part the water will be shooting out of with the top piece.You basically are doing it blindly.At 42 I have an early onset arthritis from an autoimmune condition and I am unable to pull parts of this apart myself in order to clean it. Putting this together was a nightmare. I ended up having to use a screwdriver to bend the parts out to make them fit. When buying this item it never mentioned that it requires filter changes every 3 days. The filters have to be ordered separately. The directions for putting them in require the unit to be taken apart which is simply impossible to contemplate even though the cats love it.
Worked fine for the first month or so and my cats liked it. Cleaned it every week. After that had to clean it every few days because the water was not clear and bubbles forming ,was very slimy. Started changing the filter every week and still no change. May cats wont drink from it anymore. Very disappointed with this expensive purchase 😖
Pros: Solidly constructed; Very Quiet; Multiple Streams for Cats; Large 128 oz capacity.Cons: Unwieldy to lift off floor - especially if full of water; Needed significant strength to set 3 clips that hold cone to bowl. Perhaps I was doing it wrong. Suggest mfgr provide a youTube video illustrating setup.
Sorry about the vagaries of the title, however, I am very much enjoying the fountain. However, I wasn't able to have it on the floor because apparently hair makes it foam and that indicates it's dirty - even though I'm cleaning it weekly. I put it up on the counter and that seems to have eliminated the problem. Also, I'm a little disappointed at the rate the water comes out - very slowly, in my opinion. I have it on the 2 cap but it still isn't a very fast flow. My cats are used to the plastic PetSafe models and I didn't have those issues with them.Regardless, I'm thrilled to have switched to stainless steel, and all of my cats (7) seem most happy drinking out of this fountain.
When it first came in I was super excited. The size is amazing and works just fine. 13 days in I notice my animals stop drinking out of it. So I went to change out the water, for fresh water. Then I notice rust developing. And the rust is all over in spots and looks to be getting worst. It’s only been 13 now. I haven’t had long. Disappointing tbh.
