My boy is going to love this particularly the part that explains the symbols on maps. We make various maps particularly with No Thank you Evil! But the maps will get a lot better with the guide. New monsters for him to discover and battle too. Hardcover and paper are great quality. For old AD&D players who remember how quickly Unearthed Arcana fell apart it is amazing how far things have come and how inexpensive the book is for the quality. My boy is also into Minecraft, Cat Quest, and Slay the Spire so our next games in 2020 will be quite a bit more mixed than before.

My 7yo loved his copy! There's no actual game info in these books, but there's a ton of flavor text about dungeons, monsters, heroes, treasure, etc. Great fun, and a great intro to the game for budding adventurers.
