Once my hair adjusted to being heated and styled, the looks have been flawless and effortless.Aside from getting me back into the love of doing my hair, I’ve taken the time to find quality products for my hair which is in turn making my hair happier and healthier.A lot of complaints I see online is how if it costs so much it shouldn’t require effort. The tool itself does not require effort. It’s your hair type that requires the effort. My biggest piece of advice is to not let your first attempt be a deciding factor. I’ve played with the angles I hold the tool, how wet/dry my hair is, what type of products I use in my hair, going from back/front and vice versa while styling my hair, etc. I’m sure my first week or so of attempts looked less than incredible. But I found a groove and now I’m not sure how I’ve gone so long without.

I was graciously given an airwrap for my birthday a few months ago. Contrary to the reviews I would hear (it doesn’t hold well for some, but for others it does an amazing job), I wanted to try this out. Keep in mind, I am someone who has fine, thinning hair (due to stress) so it’s really easy for heat damage to take place and having no style last in my hair. I’ve tried many different techniques: styling with no products, styling with mousse and hairspray, using different barrels, holding vertical vs horizontal and most importantly, how long I was holding it with hot air followed by cold air. I would be successful with having them last for about an hour before it’s fallen loose. I would be successful with having them last for about an hour before it’s fallen loose. A few days ago, the brand rep from dyson was in store and I explained to her how my experience was going with the airwrap and what I’ve done to style it. She then suggested for me to hold the airwrap in longer as well as bumping up the temperature and speed and reassured me, going higher temperature won’t damage my hair given the state it was in. I was doing low heat, second speed with 5 seconds of hot air followed by 10 seconds of cold air. A few days ago, I took her suggestion and did high speed, highest heat and did 8 seconds of hot air followed with 15 seconds of cold air. My curls were VERY curly (still using mousse and small amount of hair spray) and after finger combing through my curls, it came out SO NICE and voluminous. It’s been three days and my hair is now looking like a blowout. I’m happy that I spoke with the brand rep as soon as I saw her. My piece of advice is before deciding to return it, please play around with it A LOT (and I meant play around with EVERYTHING) and be patient. It’s not a one size fits all so you have to navigate your way into what’s going to work for your hair best.

I’ve had the Dyson air wrap for a year now and this is my honest full review of the product. If you're looking for a chic, luxurious hair product, this is it. The Dyson Airwrap is a well made product, which gives you the best results for any hair style you're going for. When I first used the air wrap, the air that came out of it was VERY strong. The blow drying attachment puts the air out in one place so your hair is not flying all over the place getting tangly. It allows you to blow your hair out in a natural way just like a regular blow dryer would but 10x stronger, taking less time to fully dry your hair. It allows you to blow your hair out in a natural way just like a regular blow dryer would but 10x stronger, taking less time to fully dry your hair. The next attachment that I used was the round brush. I love the way this product gives me such a natural blow out. I twist the brush at the bottom of my hair and it gives me the most natural look with a slight curl at the end of my hair. My mother, who has very curly hair, uses the round brush and it fully straightens her hair while getting rid of almost all of the frizz her hair has. The two brush attachments are very useful. My hair is naturally straight with a little wave to it but the brush attachments allow me to fully straighten my hair without using an iron at all. I use the blow drying attachment to blow dry my hair about 85% dry which takes me about 5 minutes total. Then I go in with the brush attachment and run it through my hair which completely straightens in within minutes and little run throughs in my hair. Between the two brush attachments, I can’t tell a huge difference on which one straightens my hair, although the one without the dots at the end of the brissels does make my hair more frizzy than the one with the dots. Now onto the Barrels! Those are what makes this THE airwrap. I’m going to be completely honest the barrels are a tad challenging to get the hang of using at first but once you learn how to use it, they give you the best volume, soft, natural curls. What I love about the barrels are that you can control how you want your hair to look. If you want a more tighter curl than you use the smaller barrels and wrap your hair around the barrel yourself. If you want a more loose voluminous curl, then use the larger barrels and let the air, wrap your hair around them itself. I also love how they give you two different directions. Personally I hate having my hair in my face and having two different directions allows me to turn my curls away from my face on both sides. I can say on the newer dyson, I love having just one barrel and not having to burn your fingers trying to switch attachments between the two barrel directions. Overall I love this product and I would recommend anyone with any hair type to get this product. I have had it for over a year and It still acts and looks just like I got it a year ago. If your thinking about getting it, the answer is YES! The price is high, but once you get it you will understand the price and the quality of this product.

This technology attracts and wraps hair around the barrel, creating a seamless styling experience that also reduces potential hair damage. This technique, unique to the Airwrap, is the reason behind its impressive performance.Versatility: The Airwrap is not just a single tool, but a suite of hair styling possibilities. Whether you aim for voluminous curls, beach waves, or a smooth, sleek look, the various attachments offer immense flexibility. The versatility of the Airwrap makes it a worthy investment, replacing multiple single-function hair tools.Ease of Use: Despite its high-tech appeal, the Airwrap is extremely user-friendly. Once you get the hang of the attachments and settings, styling your hair becomes an effortless task, saving you time and making your beauty routine more efficient.Healthier Styling: Unlike traditional heat styling tools, the Airwrap uses a digital motor to control heat and airflow, protecting hair from heat damage. The intelligent heat control measures air temperature over 40 times a second to ensure hair is not exposed to extreme heat. This feature alone sets it apart from most of the competition.Premium Design: The Airwrap lives up to Dyson's reputation for top-notch design and aesthetics. It's not just about how it styles; it's also about how it feels and looks. The sleek design and high-quality materials make it a joy to use and display on your vanity.Travel-Friendly: The Dyson Airwrap comes with a stylish, durable storage case making it easy and safe to transport, which is a bonus for those who frequently travel. In conclusion, the Dyson Airwrap has redefined hair styling tools, offering a healthier, more versatile, and technologically advanced way to achieve salon-style hair at home. While it may require a higher initial investment than traditional hair tools, the variety of styling options, ease of use, and consideration for hair health make it well worth the cost. It truly is a game-changer, solidifying Dyson's place as an innovator in the beauty tech industry.

It took me a year to finally purchase this after seeing so many mixed reviews. My hair is dry, course, thick, frizzy middle eastern hair. It has a lot of heat damage bc I blow dry it every week. My natural hair is pretty curly. So I didnt think this could be hot enough 2 tackle the frizz. I have to usually blow dry the top layer of my hair immediately out of the shower bc as soon as it starts drying, the frizzy baby hairs r impossible 2 straighten out. I was so surprised by how great this works. I first use the normal blow dry attachment to dry my roots straight, then the round brush or the flatter brush attachment 2 smooth + dry. Only takes 30 min. Hair has never been so soft + silky. I tried the amica round brush before which was too cold and didn’t dry my hair ... MoreIt took me a year to finally purchase this after seeing so many mixed reviews. Only takes 30 min. Hair has never been so soft + silky. I tried the amica round brush before which was too cold and didn’t dry my hair fast enough so it frizzed too much, then the revlon which was pretty fast but still left my hair course, and the dry bar round brush dryer which was a little less damaging than the revlon but still left it frizzy. I had accepted that my hair would only look good on day 3 or 4 once the frizz flattened from sleeping on it and before it started getting greasy. But that was until now. My hair is still some what frizzy at mid length with this directly after, then I use a hair oil or hair mousse to smooth it like usual, but it actually stays smooth even 3 or 4 hours after leaving the house with day 1 hair. I’ve been wearing the blow dry for about a week or week and a half (depending on how greasy it gets over the week), and it’s just stayed beautiful. I’m having way more good hair days then I’ve ever had. I also love the volume I get with this if I use curlers as well because the volume sticks around for even a few days after (when it usually gets totally flat with other hair dryers after sleeping on it for one night). I’m just so in love and got one for my mom for her bday, she loved using mine but couldn’t anymore when I moved and I knew how hard it would be to go back to a normal blow dryer after trying it

After seeing all the reviews online I was a little skeptical buying it, especially since many have mentioned how the curl barely holds after a while. I have very thick, unruly hair that can only be tamed with an excess amount of oils but my hair will hold a curl so I wasn't concerned about that, but more concerned if the Dyson would cause excess frizziness as others also complained about. I use it with the color wow dream coat, then add the K18 oil after blow drying and so far have liked my results. There is definitely a learning curve with this and I have only used it twice since purchase but will keep trying the other attachments. So far, the only frustrating thing is learning how to use the barrels as my hair will refuse to wrap around it and I end up having to ... MoreAfter seeing all the reviews online I was a little skeptical buying it, especially since many have mentioned how the curl barely holds after a while. I use it with the color wow dream coat, then add the K18 oil after blow drying and so far have liked my results. There is definitely a learning curve with this and I have only used it twice since purchase but will keep trying the other attachments. So far, the only frustrating thing is learning how to use the barrels as my hair will refuse to wrap around it and I end up having to wrap my hair around it which sort of defeats the purpose of buying the airwrap lol. The Coanda smoothing dryer attachment is actually really nice. I wasn't really convinced that it would tame flyaway hairs but it does. I assumed I would still have to buy the hair dryer but it does a good job drying my hair so I wouldn't see the reason of dropping an extra $500 when this honestly does everything I need it do already. I was debating between this and Shark for a really long time and although I like how the Shark can rotate to become a hair dryer with the styling concentrator, I don't like the idea of having to switch out the barrels for different air flow. The barrels also seem to be shorter in length and I have really long hair so the Dyson long barrels won me over for that reason as well. Lastly, aesthetic wise, the Dyson was more appealing to me.

Makes my hair look fabulous! Totally worth it!!!

As a self-confessed hair styling enthusiast, I have to say, the Dyson Airwrap is more than I expected. The device feels premium, sturdy, and the quality / craftsmanship makes the price tag understandable. Literally feels and looks like some magical lightsaber from Star Wars lol (see attached picture). Build quality and technology is something you would expect from apple. It comes with several attachments: a pre-styling dryer, soft smoothing brush, firm smoothing brush, round volumizing brush, and two sizes of curling barrels. Switching between them is a breeze, and they cater to a wide range of hair types and styling needs, from volumizing to curling and smoothing. The most impressive feature of the Dyson Airwrap, is the air technology, which uses high speed air ... MoreAs a self-confessed hair styling enthusiast, I have to say, the Dyson Airwrap is more than I expected. Switching between them is a breeze, and they cater to a wide range of hair types and styling needs, from volumizing to curling and smoothing. The most impressive feature of the Dyson Airwrap, is the air technology, which uses high speed air to style hair without extreme heat. This feature is a lifesaver for anyone concerned about heat damage. I can achieve salon style results while minimizing damage to my hair. The pre styling dryer attachment is a great addition. It dries hair to the ideal moisture level before styling, which is particularly useful for those with thick or long hair that tends to stay damp inside. However, it's worth noting that there's a learning curve to using the Airwrap, especially the curling barrels. The device uses air to wrap hair around the barrels, which can be tricky to get the hang of. But once you do, you can create everything from loose waves to tight curls. The airwrap is pricy but the convenience to create complex hair styles at home is totally worth it. I can see myself spending less time and money at salon so it’s totally worth it.Tip: as of 5/12/23, Best Buy is still offering the limited edition of the airwrap (blue color). It is the exact same product as silver colored airwrap but comes with a beautiful blue case and travel pouch. The price is the same for both so you might as well get the blue limited edition, if available.

Surprisingly the best ever

I’ve never been one to be able to sit and style my hair. My hair the use to be somewhat thick and slightly wavy and a little past my shoulders on the length Throughout the years I’ve either had perms or fuss free cuts. Now in my 60’s my hair is thinning out and lots of grey that I refuse to dye. It’s getting to be less and less flattering and unmanageable. So around three weeks ago I was in a department store during one of their anniversary sales. This air wrap and another brand were two I was considering. Fortunately, I was helped by a couple of store reps that weren’t pushy but very helpful. They were even guiding me more towards the less expensive brand that was a less than a third of the cost of the Dyson. Fortunately, I was helped by a couple of store reps that weren’t pushy but very helpful. They were even guiding me more towards the less expensive brand that was a less than a third of the cost of the Dyson. Here’s why I chose the Dyson: easier to use, lighter weight, more styling options and better performanceEasier to use because you can manage the heat, air flow, cool shot or setting shot and power with just one finger. The other brand was bulky and you had to stop between each section of hair, turn it off, re-position then turn it back on. More styling options because of the several attachments included you can do a blow out or curl and style. The other brand was more of an air brush and I would have had to buy a second product for a curling iron which would have been another two hundred dollars. It is my opinion the dyson performed better because the brush option gave more volume to my hair than the other brand, there was an obvious difference. They Dyson is quieter and cools down faster making it easy to change attachments quickly. The only con for me was the price but I’m still giving the five stars because I’ve used this air wrap every day since I’ve brought it home and I’m loving my hair again! I only wish this product was available 30 years ago.

Too hyped and too much work around it

I was truly excited trying this well-known and highly promising device, but honestly after trying it out for about 10 days, I don't see the point of having this large, noisy and a lot of work- and effort-requiring expensive hair tool at all. First of all, it's worth to notice that you'll need to purchase a lot of haircare products (heat protection, mousse, spray for your roots to hold them at place and an overall hairspray, oil) to maintain the lastingness of the hairstyle with the device. Second of all, it's really really time-consuming: I have long hair and it takes me at least 45 minutes to get a proper style done using the Airwrap. I think that's too long - especially when you can get similar effects on your hair with a hot roller for instance in about 20 ... MoreI was truly excited trying this well-known and highly promising device, but honestly after trying it out for about 10 days, I don't see the point of having this large, noisy and a lot of work- and effort-requiring expensive hair tool at all. I think that's too long - especially when you can get similar effects on your hair with a hot roller for instance in about 20 minutes max. Third, it won't really last that long - even after using dozens of products - if you don't know the technique. The longest my hairstyle was on point was 2 days when I finally got the system, but on my first tries it lasted only about 30 minutes to have almost straight hair with minimal volume. I find that frustrating, especially given the time and expenses you have to pull out to use it.I requested to return this device after about 11 days, but their customer service didn't got back to me yet. Sad to admit, but have to admit that Dyson Airwrap's price doesn't match the value that it brings.
