This product definitely does minimize the appearance of pores, but it doesn't fill mine the way other reviewers describe it filling theirs. My liquid and cream foundation still settles into my pores whether I use my fingers (blend UPWARDS), the Putty Primer Brush from ELF or a sponge. It can definitely get a little shiny throughout the day, too and that emphasizes texture. You DEFINITELY want to be sure you are not using water-based makeup on top of this silicone-heavy product as it will separate noticeably. All-in-all, it's one of the better pore filler primers I've tried but still not quite perfect. I would recommend a powder foundation on top of this if your skin is like mine to both minimize shine and avoid heavy settling into pores (the dreaded "polka dot effect"). You will use a lot of product if you have texture to hide. For the price, it's a solid 4/5 but I think there are products in the next price tier that work just a bit better for those of us in the 30+ crowd.

Changed formulation - No for oily skin

I tried this product a couple of years back when Jeffrey Star made his review on how it was a perfect dupe for the Tatcha silk canvas primer. It was amazing back then, I can't remember the year but I think y'all know when, 2018 ish. Well I remember how the formula of the product was thick, it wasn't oily whatsoever and it took some working into the skin. It left my skin looking nearly pore less and actually helped control my oils without being cakey and drying. Well this one was seriously a squishy and oily putty. I applied to my skin and immediately it was greasy looking. It did nothing for my pores, and as an oily skin gal having used it before, I was expecting it to help with my oils. Instead it made my makeup basically melt off an hour or two after application and was greasy and shiny and just not doing anything at all. I'm disappointed in what used to be such a good product, I don't know if I'm the only one who experienced this but I hope ELF can take a step back and focus on the older dupes they came out with instead of the new ones like the halo glow (not for my oily skin) and the power grip primer (not for sensitive skin whatsoever). What is true is that I've got multiple face primers including a well-known brand's "Pore....sional" that was my hands down favorite for years and lately I've found myself using the elf product over that one because of the tackier grip that allows for longer lasting wear. Unlike that brand's product this isn't one to reapply over makeup during the day if you want a blurring effect (you can do this with the other) but I have travel sizes of the other should I want to touch that up.

I put it on and wait a few minutes, but that may not even be necessary just because of the consistency of the product. Only thing I really have to be concerned about now is the Talc ingredient. (Yeah, I'm just now diving into that and it's heartbreaking because of its effects and it's in so much makeup! So. I'm trying to figure it out.
