Far more hygienic than putting fingers in the putty, and easier to scoop it out without *digging* into the putty. I used to have to keep swirling my finger to get a small film of putty on my finger, spread a little bit, swirl some more, etc. This thing can just dig in and be ready to go.Hygienically speaking, you're not double-dipping like described above (with face oils, any dirt, etc mixed in from fingers) and then touching your face with it - while this sounds paranoid, if you have acne prone skin or have active, young kids, it's a big deal. Also great - your fingers don't end up with a layer of primer on them that needs to be wiped/cleaned before you do anything else! Haha! The only awkward thing is putting it on like the lady in the video (applied to the face right off the scoop), but it's doable after a tiny learning curve - if not just take the putty off the scoop with your finger and dab around your face. Once you finger out how to get the putty off the scoop swipe-by-swipe in different places like she did in the video (takes a second, but warming it against the skin seems to help), you're pretty much contactless with the putty primer and no mess/slippery feeling on the fingers. The brush is nice and dense, soft and buffs the primer around the face nicely. While it does pick up a little bit of the primer between the bristles, the scoop gives plenty for the whole face. It's dense enough that it could be used as a foundation brush, too, afterwards (I use powder foundation, so I likely won't be dipping from primer to dry compact with the little bit of warmed primer still in the bristles, personally - but I don't see why those that use a liquid foundation on the back of their hand or dabbed on the face can't use it right after buffing in the primer). The scoop, while fat and very blunt, scoops and scrapes putty primer like butter.

I gotta give it to E.L.F. Cosmetics they’ve got the best face brushes! I have spent a lot of money on face brushes and I always end up grabbing my elf facial brushes! I’m to the point where I don’t even waste my money on other brushes anymore. I didn’t know that they came out with a putty brush. I seen it on the clearance shelve at Walmart. I grabbed all 5 of them because I knew I was going to love it! I got them about 2 weeks ago and I haven’t used my elf foundation or contour brushes since. I’ve only been using the putty primer brush! The bristles are the perfect texture they’re soft and the density is perfect. You aren’t going to be able to see any lines like a lot of foundation brushes leave behind. You get none of that at all! I have two different YouTube influencers that have raved about this brush, and I truly understand why. It is soft and blends cream products like a dream! I have one for cream bronzers and blushes, and they work great on all the putty products of ELF, including the bronzer and blushes. I have a feeling this will last a long time with how well it cleans. I believe this would work with powder products too, but I’ve only used them for cream! Amazing brush ! Highly recommend! Exceeded my expectations by far!

This is such an awesome affordable brush from ELF, that I couldn’t resist but to buy a few back ups since I use it so often. I personally don’t use the putty primer, so obviously I don’t use this brush for that. But I absolutely love using this brush for cream blush bronzer! It blends my cream cheek products so seamlessly. There’s never any streaking or patchiness when using this brush with products I know love. Elf really does make some of the best affordable brushes, and this is hands down in my top 3 favorite brushes of all time from their brand. I think everyone could find use with this brush in their collection is well worth picking up. It’s super soft, the density is perfect it’s not too big or bulky in size. It’s just perfect. I don’t find myself using the little spatula day to day, but when I’m doing makeup on a client it is definitely convenient to have in case I forget my metal mixing spatula. So all in all, it’s a phenomenal brush but specifically a cream blush bronzer’s best friend. If you love cream products as much as I do, you need this brush. I highly recommend grabbing this because you seriously can’t go wrong for the price. Just buy it already.
OMG! My favorite brush ever! I kid you not, I use it for EVERYTHING. I initially bought it for the putty primer but instead I use it for foundation and idk if it’s because it’s densely packed but it’s the perfect foundation and concealer and everything face brush! And I love the size because I carry one with me everywhere for touch ups. It’s something I didn’t know I needed until I had it. 10000/10
I'm honestly mad at myself for not buying it sooner. The trio primer comes in the tiny little pan, and SO hard to get your finger in there to get a "decent" amount. This brush is way more hygienic and gives an airbrush finish. The scoop is the perfect size too. It fits in the little dish, but it's also great for the bigger putty primers, so you don't use too much. I also use it for the putty blush as well!!The brush is sooo soft and the right amount of dense to be used for primer and/or for foundation. It buffs the product right into the skin. The head is a little small but it's been more helpful than irritating because I can get on my nose and the small places
Love this lil multitasker. The brush end is slightly rounded and fairly dense, and it looks like the individual brush hairs taper slightly toward the end which makes for a truly airbrushed application with both cream and liquid products (and if you're the type who loves a blinding powder highlight, you can use this brush with powders, too--just remember--the denser the brush, the heavier the application when it comes to powder.)...As for the opposite end of the tool, the putty scoop end is just the right size and depth to dole out cream product, but I also use it to mix two or more products together in my hand, utilizing it like a painter would use a paint scraper, dragging the products together flat against the surface I placed them on to thoroughly mix them ... MoreLove this lil multitasker. Don't forget to sanitize the scoop end with alcohol before storing. Great little tool!
Using for cream contour and cream blushes. Works! Generally apply cream blushes tapping on with fingers, sponge, or a dense specific brush I have. This little gem allows for blending cream blushes! Doesn't work well tapping it on like my other brush. I apply cream blush with fingers then blend with brush. For more build able coverage I tap brush directly into cream and apply and blend. Getting more pigment/product using this brush. Not a wash of color. But can be if you chose. Blends out well. Denser brush for cream products. Haven't tried stippling brush for cream blushes yet. But this brush...small but mighty!
I recently purchased this brush, and I'm so glad I did! While I haven't used the scoop side yet, I can see this being handy for dispensing putty primer and other putty products if you don't want to use your fingers. The brush end is shorter, dense, and so incredibly soft! It gives a nice, full coverage with foundation without having to use excess product, so you get a lovely, blended finish while avoiding looking cakey. The brush is smaller in size, so it fits easily in your makeup bag or purse. Despite its size, I had no problem doing a full face of foundation really quickly, and this brush would also be great with other products like bronzer. I absolutely love this brush- it's quickly become my favorite!
I bought 2 of these brushes after falling in love w the Putty Primer. I admit that I was never quite successful using this brush with its intended product.I pulled it out the other day to quick-try the new-to-me elf Cream Contour palette and these two are perfection together. So much so, I can use the cream palette alone on no makeup days (unheard of for my dry, flaky skin). The scoop end perfectly applies thin stripes of cream contour and highlight JUST where you want it and the small, compact brush blends them to natural perfection.I use one brush for the highlight/light contour areas and one for the dark.Sounds extra but it’s made all the difference in my daily “look nice just for me” days.
