I'm a fan of the Soft 7 line. I have probably half a dozen of various styles and colors in that line. This particular one as far as fit, comfort and quality has been my favorite yet. I found that it fit slightly larger than the standard Soft 7, noticeably more so in width, so I actually sized down and found it had a better fit for me. I do notice that while the toe box is wider, it doesn't feel especially tall, so if you have rounder "sausage" feet, you might find these squeezing your feet too much. They fit great on my average foot. The comfort is superior to all other models and feels more padded. I think as long as you are not wearing it with white pants or a bright white shirt, it wont be very noticeable.

In his best estimation, it would be better to drop down 2 sizes for the most ideal fit with this particular model.Ecco really missed the boat with what should have been a top-of-the-line standout sneaker, especially at the more expensive price point. By paying 30-40% more, I can purchase similar shoes in terms of style, but handmade in Italy or the UK, and by companies known for their high-quality craftsmanship/leather work. I'll be hard-pressed to buy another pair of Ecco shoes again.

The leather is a solid pigment (not analine) embossed leather that feels extremely soft to the touch like chrome tanned. Almost like a glove leather. The leather does not need to be broken in like analine versions of the soft 7. Its solid pigment coated ie. not transparent/analine so it will mark or scuff much less easily in the short to medium term. In the very long term the leather will not age as well as analine. Imo the leather is of a lesser quality than the soft 7 but most consumers will actually like it better. The inside of the soft 60 has a bit more leather on the lining but otherwise the same.The biggest difference is the sole. The midsole is not a hard PU based cupsole like the soft 7. It is a very soft EVA type foam. The soft 60 does not have an outsole, whereas the soft 7 has a rubber outsole that lasts forever. The soft 60 uses ground contact foam and this will be an issue meaning it will wear down much quicker. Only in the heel area there is a harder material on the outsole, you can see it if you look at the images closely, the rest is ground contact foam. Despite the part of the shoe that contacts the ground being much softer and squishier, the inside of the shoe doesn't feel any different than the firmer soft 7. If anything, it feels firmer. You will only notice a difference when you walk. The soft 60 is much more comfortable to walk in because of this foam midsole. The foam on the soft 60 not as flexible as a broken in Soft 7 if that matters to you. The soft 60 also has a slightly higher stack height by a few mm and it has an additional mm or two of offset aka drop. The insole is different as well. The soft 60 uses a cheaper recycled open cell insole and it has two layers, the bottom layer is a thin glued in liner that is half length. They call this a "wide fit."These are the differences. Different leather, softer and solid pigment not transparent. Different construction. The soft 60 has foam midsole which is cemented to the upper. The soft 7 uses a PU based cupsole that is Strobel stitched to the upper. The soft 60 lacks an outsole other than in the heel area, as such will wear down much faster. The soft 60 is much more comfortable for walking because EVA type foam is a lot more compliant than solid PU or rubber you see in other shoes in this style.
